The hotel is right on the sandy beach with pool, bar and restaurant overlooking the sea. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food varied and delicious. The hotel was clean and well looked after and our room had a small side sea view balcony. The pool was not large but always kept clean and there were leisure facilities available as well as unpowered water sport kit (paddle boards, windsurf boards etc.) I would class it as a 'boutique hotel' as it is small and customer service orientated and was as good as the pictures shown and worthy of its star rating.

I'm just home from this lovely hotel and can honestly say it is one of the best holidays I have had. I cannot fault a thing about it. From the minute we arrived at the hotel the staff were just amazing. The reception staff are so efficient and welcoming. Check in was seamless. We were late arriving at the hotel at about 10pm and the restaurant was kept open so that we could enjoy a hot meal. A welcome drink was also provided. The room we had was spacious with a balcony. It had a shower and bath and very comfortable beds with lovely crisp fresh white sheets. The entire hotel is so clean. Every area we saw was pristine. Our rooms were cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels in the evening if required. A huge shout out and thank you to the housekeeping team. They do an amazing job and were always so friendly and helpful. If you needed anything they were always happy to help. The food is buffet style. We were half board. At breakfast there was a large selection of food items to choose from and I noticed they also catered for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. We enjoyed having our breakfast each day in the covered outside area of the restaurant which overlooks the swimming pools and gardens. The staff in the restaurant were also so welcoming and friendly from the Management to the chefs, waitresses and waiters. They work hard and again are always happy to help. 5 stars from me for Service. We also enjoyed the Evenings meals and again a good selection was on offer. The pool bar staff were excellent too. They were very attentive and always happy to help. Nothing was too much trouble. They were great at making pina coladas too which were a daily treat and made to perfection! Thank you to all of them. The grounds and pool areas are immaculate and very well maintained. I think they have the cleanest swimming pools I've seen in a long time. The water was cold when you first went in for a swim but after a few minutes swimming it was lovely and fresh and good to cool down in as the temperature rose. They have a family pool and an adults only pool which was a great idea. The pool bar and seating are us in the middle. Thank you to the really friendly gardeners too for doing a great job. The grounds have lots of lovely flowers and trees which are well cared for. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the start of the town area where there is a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops. It still retains the Greek village feel about it which is lovely. The Greek people were so friendly and welcoming everywhere we went. Checkout was also seamless. Again we had a late flight home and the hotel were able to accommodate us by allowing us to keep our room until 5:30pm . We were very grateful for this as it was heavy rain on our last day. We had the most wonderful relaxing holiday at this hotel. We travel a lot and don't return to hotels as we like to try new experiences but this hotel was so good we will definitely return. Paid 50 euro for a transfer from the airport, but the transfer never showed up. We called the hotel and they said the transfer was on the way. After about 20 minutes in record heat, we chose our own cab and paid 20 euro to go to the hotel. We requested a refund on the airport transfer, but the hotel staff declined. Instead they asked for a taxi receipt to prove we paid for a cab. Seriously? I recommend not questioning your guests' integrity. Our room seemed more or less clean, but not going to win awards in that area. Also, there was a large chair missing one of the four feet, so it constantly wobbled. We did not bother to tell the hotel staff about this, as they were generally unwelcoming and we did not expect any resolution. Cut our trip short and went to another hotel.

My wife and myself are just back from having a lovely 2 week stay at this lovely hotel. It was quite with it getting towards the end of the season. We stayed from the 20th of September until the 04th of October. We had booked a Chic room and was upgraded to a Deluxe suite at no extra cost. We stayed on a B & B basis and could not fault the breakfast as there was always plenty of choice. The staff was always chatie and PAVASKEVI always had a big smile when ever you seen her. The pool area was well maintained with plenty of sunbeds and umbrella's no matter what time of day you went down. As for eating out there was ample restaurant's to choice from. Would we go back to the Koukounairia Hotel and Suites yes but a bit earlier in the season.

The property itself is so beautiful, the location is stunning, it has a very welcoming feeling due to it not beinh a big hotel. Breakfast is yummy, and the hospitality is just wonderful. The staff feels like a family and the vibe allover is just incredible. The owner even arranged a car hire for us, the agency brought the car to the property, we didn't need to do much ourselves, it was a perfect vacation and i would highly recommend staying here. What i also liked very much was the fact that at the time of our stay there were no families with small children (it felt super relaxing) so the pool was always available, also enough sunbeds for everyone and there were floaties and balls in the pool so we could also play and chill if we wanted to. But otherwise the place seems also great for families. The staff made sure we had a great time :)

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. It’s like a little oasis! Our (very spacious) room was tucked away above the spa, where it was very quiet. They kindly gave us a free room upgrade, so we had a huge in-room hot tub which was a nice surprise! And the balcony was the perfect spot for watching the sunset. The pool area was lovely, with comfy loungers/beanbags and lots of greenery. And the QR codes make it easy to order drinks or snacks straight to your sun lounger. The spa was also great, and you can book the pool/sauna for just the two of you, which is a nice touch. We booked half-board and the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, and you can also order a dish from the menu at no extra cost. I was very impressed by the evening buffet. I find that buffet dinners can be hit-and-miss, but everything was delicious, especially the Greek dishes. There was also live music by the bar on a couple of nights, which added a really nice atmosphere. Special shout-out to the evening bartender who made the most fantastic cocktails! We also ate at the Nobile rooftop restaurant one evening. We had the seven-course tasting menu which was very nice, but there was quite a lengthy gap between the courses. We were there over three hours – had we known it would be that long, I think we probably would have booked an earlier table. But it was a great experience nonetheless, and the food was wonderful. The final word goes to go to the staff, who were amazing. The reception team, the porter, the waiting staff, the spa team – everyone was so friendly, smiley, and couldn’t do enough for you. I’d definitely recommend Contessina Suites for a chilled-out break; we had the best time.
