1900 Athenian House

A disgusting hotel. My room stank of smoke. It was in an unsafe area and I was advised by various people not to walk at night in the neighbourhood. Unhelpful front desk. Do not go - good marketing and pretty pictures for an awful hotel and its position!

Atmosphere & Design: The hotel’s design is simply stunning. Housed in a beautifully restored neoclassical building, the décor elegantly combines traditional Greek elements with contemporary touches. From the moment you step inside, you feel transported to a different era. The common areas feature high ceilings, intricate moldings, and classic furnishings, yet the hotel doesn’t feel outdated. The attention to detail in preserving the historical elements while ensuring modern functionality is impressive. The rooms are spacious, meticulously clean, and tastefully decorated. My room had a fantastic view of the Acropolis, which was a major highlight. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms were equipped with luxurious amenities. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a relief during the hot summer days. There was also a nice balance between maintaining the historic aesthetic and offering modern conveniences, like a flat-screen TV and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
