Recently returned after a lovely family holiday first time to Cyprus for all of us and weather did not disappoint. Hotel positives - very clean and modern with daily visits by the maids - reception staff very helpful providing extra pillows etc on request and able to give advice of the local area which was very central and ideal within walking distance of beaches, shops and nightlife - which was helpful due to the lack of entertainment at the hotel. Despite being advertised as having ‘regular evening entertainment’ this consisted of a background singer / duo on a Tuesday and Friday night. This did not cater to families who then had to resort to going out of the hotel to find alternative entertainment venues to suit a family - therefore not a particularly good use of the all inclusive package - which was a shame as the all inclusive drinks options was quite extensive compared to other places we have stayed offering a large range of cocktails, beers and spirits. During the day you had to be up pretty early to get a sun-bed in the pool area. The pool itself was lovely and warm which was an helpful as you were unable to leave children unsupervised due to the pool being all one depth. Unless you were over 5’7” you were unable stand up anywhere in the main pool therefore unable to play with the children - there is a very small seated / jacuzzi area at one end of the pool which got quite busy and an ankle deep raised area at one side but nothing in between for mid-age children or their under 5’7” parents! There is a very small children's pool with a slide however our youngest (5) preferred not to play in there due to the sheer capacity of children AND adults who took to sitting in there! Food - breakfast was as expected offering cereal, continental and cooked with the bonus of freshly made pancakes much to the delight of our children. Lunch - nice choices however we regularly ate from the snack bar as more accommodating for the family needs. Evening meals VERY repetitive with very little choice or variety for the children and even the adults becoming fed up after a few days ( thank goodness for mcdonalds which was literally next door) one very small improvement could be to offer ice cream as a dessert in the restaurant as other than fresh fruit there was nothing they would eat. While we would be unlikely to stay again with young children we would not rule out as returning as adults only holiday or much older children. Don’t want to end on a negative as we did enjoy our holiday and this was partly due to the stafff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome in particular bar staff Eleni, Anna- Marie and the lifeguard / barman/ waiter Pari who spoke to us regularly and interacted well with the children ( he needs a pay rise as never stopped morning noon or night 😂)

This is one lovely hotel! If you want a place that isn’t huge and over crowded then this is the place. Never short of a sun bed, the pool is never overcrowded and the accommodation is lovely. As for the staff well they are nothing short of incredible, they are friendly and welcoming and take the time to have a chat and a laugh. We will be back for sure!

What a fabulous surprise from start to finish. We arrived at 1.30am in the morning and were greeted with a friendly smile and glass of champagne. Check in was quick and easy. We travel a lot and our room was wonderful, one of the best we've stayed in. Very modern, a good size, a large balcony and with a seaview which we weren't expecting. All very clean. The hotel is kept spotless in every area, staff are all attentive and want you to enjoy your stay. Stayed B&B and loads of choice for breakfast, we had something different each day. Ate out in the evenings as we always do on holiday, but the restaurant looked very nice and was laid out lovely. I really cannot fault this hotel. It has such a nice calming relaxing feel to it and we absolutely loved it. We will definitely return. Outside, there are lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance without going into Protaras itself, and there's a lovely promenade to walk along by the sea. Local buses are good and cheap if you want to go into ayia napia but the hotel is such a lovely area to stay in. We rarely go to the same hotel twice but the AT Herbal, will definitely be an exception. Already recommended to friends and cannot wait to return

Just had a quick two night break here. Absolutely fantastic hotel. Really warm welcome from all the staff and made to feel very welcome. Room had the most amazing view of the sea and the pool. There’s even steps straight into the sea literally 30 seconds walk away. Breakfast was awesome, just loved the place. Drink service around the pool was also fantastic, can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat dinner there. You have to be up by 7 to get a decent sun lounger- but that’s the guests fault not the hotels! Fabulous location, fig tree bay right behind you and the bars and steamers a 5 minutes walk. I want to start this review by saying that the staff at this hotel are outstanding, they go above and beyond to help, they are friendly and very hard working. However, I can’t understand how majority of the reviews for this hotel are positive from what we and other experienced from our stay. Upon arrival the hotel is clean and modern, the rooms are airy and modern and all looks very nice. I think the main issue with this place is there is far far too many guests for the amenities that the hotel has to offer. BUFFET: The buffet restaurant is absolutely tiny, every night there was a huge que wrapped all around to get to the food. This is not ideal with 2 small children when you have go back and forth separately for everyone to get their plate of food. This resulted in my partner not getting anything to eat because of the length of time it took then returning on his own at 9pm. The que went from the very first dish right to the last so it took a long time to get to the end. Not only that the food was not being replenished quick enough, everything was stone cold and the food all had a crusty top layer as if it had been standing for a long time. The food is one of the worst we have had. The hotel is aware of this issue as they had one of the staff members asking for peoples feedback and agreed it was far too small and that the hotel was looking into it. A LA CARTE: My next issue was the a la carte, there is only one included a la carte and the food here was absolutely disgusting and stone cold. The restaurant itself is outdoor but is very very dirty and unkept. While we were there the majority of people were leaving without finishing their meal. We waited over 2 hours and ended up leaving before our dessert as it was just taking so long. ENTERTAINMENT: this also wasnt great, there was only 1 thing on most nights that last 30mins-45mins and then that was it. It was out on the terrace which again there was not enough space or seats for how many guests were at the hotel. Daytime entertainment was very lacking, if you have children this is definitely not a good choice hotel for that reason. There is only 2 young girls that run entertainment during the day and they run very few activities. POOL: the pools upon arrival look great however we found these to be dirty, they all had scum rings around the outer which was never cleaned the whole time we were there, the tiles were black and mouldy in lots of places. We saw ants crawling all over the bar counters too. My suggestion to this hotel would be stop trying to make more money and concentrate on catering to the guests that have already paid a lot to stay here. Open up the paid a la carte as an option to all inclusive guests which would free up more congestion in the buffet. Open the roof top bar also as an option to all inclusive guests, not an extra charge. This would allow for more space for guests to enjoy their night rather than sitting in a small lobby for the whole duration of their holiday

Booked into this hotel because friends who just called in for a drink liked what they had seen. First impressions were good. Friendly receptionists and the place looked very nice. First impression of the room was that it was spacious, had a large bed and nice bathroom. On further inspection though we noticed = No tea/coffee facilities. Only 3 soft, cheap quality pillows. Bottom sheet not a fitted one and didn’t cover all of mattress. The quilt itself barely covered the bed area an it and it’s cover again seem poor quality. Mini bar had two bottles of different beer and one can of Fanta. No complimentary water offered. The only English speaking channel was a Turkish news channel. Some better points:- Shower was excellent. The sports bar was very nice, very reasonably priced with lovely staff. The restaurant food was nice but make sure you ask for time between your starter and main. In summing up this hotel I would say that with a few adjustments and and more attention to detail I would stay here again. Until then I’ll sadly give it a miss.
