Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp

The tents were delightful, the service was outstanding . Disney has nothing in this crew. I am gluten free and always had delightful food and breads . The view was outstanding. The reception/ bar was a highlight with a view of the Serengeti for miles. The hyrex entertained us while we were having our gin and tonics in the evening.

The pioneer camp puts you in the shoes of a British queen visiting her colonies! The tent are a bit old but so stylish, 1940’s or 1950’s, and in perfect condition to be used. Hot water 24/24. The tents area is surrounded with antilopes and baboons. But the highlight is the view from the lunch area and from the bar!! The view allows to understand what Serengeti means : endless plain! Furthermore the staff, Sagi in particular, is doing is best to satisfy any of your needs and wishes! For instance, he organized our last breakfast 6am in the bar (upstairs) allowing us to assist to a fairy scene, a dream with the rising sun! The food is excellent and wines (included) are very good!

The Camp was a hard ride to get to due to the rain moving in early, but we did finally make it. The staff greeted us right away with hot wipes to clean the Serengeti off our faces and a refreshing drink. They even had started heating the water for us to be able to shower when we got settled. The service and the food is amazingly good consider our remote location. The site is at the foot of a cliff face and has beautiful verandas. The animals can get very close at night around the camp so its a good idea to use the tribal guide to help you to your tent. On the way back from dinner one night we saw a Hyena just 30 feet from the path and the night before a guest had seen a male lion. The place is both calm and yet active at the same time. I highly recommend getting up before sun rise and enjoy breakfast whilst the park awakens all around you. This place was one of my favorite place to stay while in the Serengeti because it was so real and right in front of you.

As far from civilization as you will ever get but more beautiful than any place I have ever traveled! Elegant tents with every amenity and animal noises at night. A staff that accommodates your every whim yet is warm and welcoming. Game drives that allow you to see the animals up close and personal. What more can you want from safari?

A fantastic location when on safari in the Serengeti. Beautiful views, delicious food, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The tents have everything you need and want for a luxury stay while also remaining in touch with the environment and nature. All our meals were fantastic but the stay was topped off with a special breakfast on our last morning right on the viewpoint over the Serengeti, I won’t be forgetting that experience any time soon! I would happily return to this camp again and would recommend to anyone visiting the Serengeti!

This was our last stop of an unforgettable safari and this place did not disappoint. Gorgeous views, spacious tent, and really a truly beautiful "glamping" experience. There's something about lying on your bed in your tent looking out the screens to monkeys and baboons looking in at you! The food was excellent and the service here was impeccable - everyone was so kind. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

From the moment we arrived the entire staff was happy and helpful. Everyone was professional and looked after us. The spirit of Hakuna Matata was alive and well. The ‘tents’ were well appointed with a hint of glam. After we zipped ourselves in we felt very safe and the staff was ready at anytime to escort us safely back to the common areas. It was fun to watch the monkeys, baboons and impalas along with beautiful birds playing around right outside. There is no heat or cooling system, but that was fine. Lots of shade from the trees and the temps at night were very comfortable. The camp kept the insects to a minimum, which was very much appreciated. Another detail looked after for their guests. The food at the Pioneer was excellent. Freshly prepared for each guest. Several choices for every meal that varied daily. Besides our tent, our favorite place was relaxing in the open air lounge. High above the Serengeti with sweeping views and a gentle, cool breeze. The early morning glow is not to be missed. Wait a moment or two and the sun begins to rise over the horizon as a beautiful welcome to a new day.

This is a beautiful camp in all ways. The location, “tents” and lodge are beyond charming and comfortable with a spectacular view at every turn. The staff is warm, welcoming and went out of their way to anticipate and make sure our every need was met. We were sorry to leave this special place. Until we meet again Serengeti Pioneer Camp!

The staff and accommodations were incredible. I felt like I was truly experiencing a safari but with all the creature comforts. The food was exceptional and no request was more than moments from being fulfilled. My wife is gluten intolerant and they had a special meal prepared for her that was as delicious as the ones I had.
