A real gem to find on our garden route travels! We loved this boutique hotel run by such lovely people. Excellent service, great outside lounge area with fantastic food. Highly recommend!

I STAYED AT THE BARRYDALE KAROO FOR ONE NIGHT IN JANUARY 2025. THE ACCOMODATIONS WERE VERY GOOD. THE STAFF WAS ATTENTIVE AND THE RESTAURANT HAD TASTY FOOD. CONVENIENTLY LOCATED ON R62. WAS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO OTHER RESTAURANTS AND BARS.

So glad we stayed here, so many times we drive the R62 through Barrydale without stopping. The room was spacious, and the styling was almost colonial antique, very, very neat, fresh and comfortable. no AC but the fan did a great job of cooling the room. A big bonus for us was the pet friendliness. We had a good cafe style dinner in the evening on arrival, and a good breakfast (included in the rate) before departure the following morning. Safe parking was available behind the hotel. It was very busy in the evening and for breakfast and is obviously very popular. Eugen the owner was a good host.

My husband and I desperately needed to unwind after a hectic holiday season. The Barrydale Karoo Lodge proved to be the ideal escape. A scenic 3-hour bike ride from Cape Town brought us to this peaceful haven. It's the perfect place to disconnect from the everyday hustle and bustle and simply relax.

The VYGIE room we stayed in was very tastefully decorated 10/10...and the public areas within the hotel were extremely well maintained and clean. The stay included breakfast... in my opinion plated food was extremely sprase. Improvemt is required here... maybe 2 eggs, 3 rashers of bacon... not 1 egg!

We stayed one night. The room was big and the shower worked well. The restaurant in front feels like it is more for the passers-by and does not share the same character.
