We have stayed 17 nights over two trips to Royalton Splash. My review is real and honest. The facilities aren’t perfect. There are disappointments. Having said that, inconveniences will happen anywhere. It is how the people respond that matters and keeps us coming back. 1) Learn enough Spanish to communicate your needs. The majority of staff speak limited English. Hearing you attempt to tell them “Hello”, “Thank You”, “Good Morning, or “How are you?” in their native language is priceless to the staff. If you don’t feel like your needs are understood, use Google Translate and then hand the staff your phone so they can read your message in Spanish. They can speak back into your phone and you can read the response in English. 2) Pay for a Diamond Club Butler and trust him/her to meet your needs. Don’t waste your vacation focused on the negatives. Let your Butler fight your battles, if any arise, for you. 3) The staff work several days in a row and then have an extended break. Get to know them on a personal level. Ask about their families that they do not see for extended periods. Family is extremely important in the Dominican culture. If you show an interest in their families, you quickly become part of it. Edwin is an incredible Butler. He will meet and exceed your expectations from early mornings to late nights. All you have to do is communicate those needs and he will follow up for a quick resolution. Elvin, a Butler assigned to other families, was a true foot soldier. It didn’t matter where we were on site, he was always visible. He was always available and went out of his way to exceed our expectations when Edwin was away. The Beach Butlers Jean Carlos, Remigio, and Joselito, and Yovanny went out of their way to welcome us and set up loungers in a prime location every day we visited. Nichol checked on us countless times with a warm smile on the beach to be sure our hearts and glasses stayed full. These guys work so hard in blazing sun for hours and are still so kind and outgoing. Always present with a hug and a smile every time we saw them. They keep the beach clean to compliment the absolutely stunning soft, white sand and beautiful blue water. Our beach experience could not be better. Elias, at the Diamond Club Bubbles Bar, kept the non-alcoholic drinks flowing for my kids with a smile. They really enjoyed the attentiveness at the swim up bar and around the wade in pool. Daily breakfast and lunch at the Marché Buffett was priceless. Gisel, Leydi, Julio, Juan Molina, and Yonathan were so very kind and attentive. We took pictures and added them on What’sApp and Facebook to keep in touch. Gisel, in particular, made it a point to make sure my children were treated like family. My daughter made them a “Thank You” card in the Kids’ Club to show her appreciation for their kindness. Not worth the money or the upgrade to diamond club was mis lead via tui website if you book diamond club you won't get a beachside breakfast as it was closed for the whole 2 weeks we was there we had to eat at the normal buffet we upgraded for beach breakfast please be aware when booking. also the food truck at the pool was closed for 2 weeks. We ordered room service it took ages to arrive and i mean 1 hour + sometimes it didn't arrive at all!!! buffet was even closed 1 night with no warning. Asked for cocktails in the diamond lounge that was on the menu was told that didn't do them or they didn't have the correct glass for them. Mini fridge was never restocked unless we chased the guy down or complained. I also was locked in the toilet int the room i was alone at this time the telephone in the toilet was broken of course i had to wait for my bf to come back who then had to call staff to come and take the door off to get me out. Another day our room door keys didn't work so we had to wait in the hall for numerous staff memeber to check then the whole door lock had to be changed. At the same time we had a lobster delivered for lunch this was left waiting in the hall bating in mind we ordered this lobster 3 days before for lunch in a pool cabana but it never arrived. Staff also used half a bottle of my bfs hermes aftershave which was unopened we had to keep them in the safe after this. So many issues we had for a 7k holiday Tui have been no help plus side - staff in pool bar and restaurants were really nice and friendly and our butler was helpful and cleaning in the room was done daily and pool bar food was the best and hunters steak house was nice too.

We were booked in to a Diamond Lodge room so on arrival you have your own check in. You leave your bags with the bell boys and you go and halve a seat where they give you a drink while the reception staff get your gear together. The wait is only minutes and they come and see to your accommodation promptly. They put your wrist band on(which also acts as your key) on your wrist and explain were most things are. They then get your butler to take you to your room. Ours was Noroya (more said about the butler service later). The butler then takes you to your room and as you go they point out restaurants, pool etc, etc. It a lot to take in as you are tired from the journey but they are doing their best. Once at your room your cases are fetch by the bell boys(tip expected) Our room was on the backside off the hotel so had a little view off trees and could see the sea and beach off next doors hotel. There is a super king bed and all amenities one would expect. The mini fridge is fully stocked and there is a Nespresso machine for hot drinks(we never used) Bathroom is large and has separate Shampoo, Shower gel etc, etc which is a nice touch. The bed is is comfortable and has a topper on so was a winner for the wife. They clean the room everyday and do a very good Job. Hotel amenities: 3 pools at Royalton Punta Cana, 3 pools at Royalton splash and a fully stocked water park are available for use to use. Nice touch is that you can use all facilitates at both hotels so there is plenty off choice. All pools have a bar within throwing distance and 1 pool at RPC and all 3 at RS have a swim up bar. All pools had plenty off sun beds so never had to get up early to grab one. We like the atmosphere at the quiet pool at the Royalton splash near the reception but all were clean and tidy. Bars and restaurants: As well as the bars at the pools they also have a lobby bar, Martini bar, a Sport bar and also 2 beach bars, one for diamond club members only at RPC, as well as a lobby bar, a social bar and a Bellini bar at RS. At the time we were there the Normal beach bar was closed for renovations.All are well stocked with branded drinks (make sure at some you ask for the branded ones. I have to say the staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful and go the extra mile(the guy who name has left me at the diamond club beach bar was excellent) Restaurants while we were only open on certain days so will only comment on the ones we used. We eat at both Buffet restaurants and they are what they are. Plenty off choice with show cooking stations. The food was good, plenty off it but its buffet so food could be warmer but that the nature off the business. Zen Japanese restaurant is great but it does feel like you are rushed, as they have to keep to the tight timings as they have about 3 different sittings. Food is fresh tasty and plenty off it.
