Spacious and luxurious room with huge bathroom. Conveniently located next to public transportation, attractions and shopping. Restaurant at Sky Terrace was overpriced and didn’t taste nice. Restaurant Jack’s at ground floor has nice ambience and serves nice steaks.

First the good things. It is across the street, in front of the train station at Bern. It was perfect for us as we were planning to (and did) go to a different city every day. They also gave us a voucher so we could use all Bern public transportation during our stay. I dont know if it is a standard in Bern, but it was welcomed. On the other hand, dont expect the hotel to be a luxury or modern one. The hotel is simple, to put it nicely. At some hours, during the day, the entrance had a bad smell. We did not book the breakfast, but, when we checked it, it turned out to be a wise decision. Room heating can only be controlled by opening windows. Pluggin laptops, phones and other things that needed charging was an exercise in logistics. The people at the front desk were all over the spectrum. The lady who received us was incredibly nice. That was it. Everybody else at the desk seemed to dislike their job and were more than willing to let you feel it.

I spent two nights at Marthahaus hotel. It's located in a quite residential area. My room was on the second floor (which is considered 1st floor in Bern), with a window overlooking a courtyard. The window had shutters, which protected against the heat in a very hot summer. The room was spacious and furnished in a contemporary style. The bed and the pillow were comfortable, the sheets impeccable. I only wish there was a light summer blanket! My room had an in-suite bathroom. A hairdryer was provided. There were many healthy options for breakfast. Marthahaus is close to the railway station : a 15-minute walk across the bridge. There's also a bus stop nearby. I found a pleasant route to the old town: down to Aare river through the botanical garden, across a pedestrian bridge, up the stairs leading to Kornhausplatz. During my stay I never had an issue with wi-fi. The hotel staff very friendly and always on site.

This is a sympathetic and simple hotel located in the middle of Bern, a short walk from the railway station, the university and the old town. My room was functional and clean. As is common in Europe, instead of a queen-sized bed, the bed had two single mattresses next to each other. Not that it really matters, but a queen bed would be more comfortable. Another minus during the heatwave was the lack of air conditioning, although this, too, is typical for Europe. There was a standalone cooling machine in the room, which was a definite help. The hotel has a nice lobby with a small terrace where you can enjoy a drink or a snack. The staff all were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also good. I'd stay again.

Super hôtel, accueil très sympa et chaleureux. Nous étions dans une chambre Budget, très propre et silencieuse malgré la promiscuité entre les chambres. Situé au nord de la ville l’hôtel se trouve juste à côté d’un arrêt de tram qui vous permet d’accéder en 10min au centre ville, sinon le centre ville est à moins de 30min à pied. Aussi vous pouvez obtenir des billets de transport gratuit pour la durée de votre séjour. Nous n’avons pas eu la chance de tester le petit déjeuner trop cher pour des des petits français comme nous. Je recommande également, par beau temps, d’aller aux piscine gratuites et extérieure situées en dessous du parlement et à côté de l’Aar avec une possibilité à cet endroit de se jeter dedans et se laisser emporter par le courant sous la surveillance d’un maître nageur plutôt attirant. J’ai fein la noyade mais malheureusement il n’est pas venu à mon secours. Pour les amateurs de speed dating je vous recommande le plongeoir ou même le petit restaurant où plein de gens très beau viendront acheter des trucs que vous, en tant que français, n’auront pas la chance d’acheter. Bref l’hôtel est super bien ! Et si vous avez pas beaucoup d’argent des restaurants situés le long du chemin du retour à l’hôtel en partant du centre ville sont très abordable.

Stayed in this hotel for two weeks during my official visit in Switzerland. Located just opposite to Schonegg Tram stop, this hotel is just 10 mins from Bern Bahnof (Railway Station). This is an old design hotel with all modern amenities. The staff at the reception are polite helpful. The room which I got was at the end of the corridor which was quite small in terms of width. The bed was also quite small. The room was giving a vibe of coziness though. The bathroom was neat and clean but was small The hotel has an in house restaurant located in the first floor. Overall the food in the menu were quite expensive. The room rent didn’t include complimentary breakfast so the breakfast was also quite expensive ( 7.5 CHF for express and 19.5 for Buffet) Positives 1. Courteous Staff 2. Free High speed Wi Fi 3. Complimentary Public Transport pass 4. Clean and Hygienic room 5. B’ful view from the window 6. Check In and Check out was smooth Negatives 1. Small room 2. I recently just got back from a work trip where I stayed at the Ibis Styles Bern City for 2 nights and would highly recommend this as a place to stay. We needed somewhere reasonably priced with good amenities nearby and functional to work from - this hotel ticked all the boxes. The reception staff were really friendly on arrival and it's great that your booking comes with free use of the cities public transportation. The rooms are modern. with extremely comfy beds and all the facilities you would need. My only complaints about the room would be that the pillows were smaller than normal size and the towels weren't full body size, but those are only small things. The breakfast buffet was good and you can borrow a glass bottle to fill up with water on your floor which was handy. Across the road there are lots of restaurants, a superb coffee shop and a supermarket, everything you could need within walking distance. I would definitely choose to stay here again should I need to return to Bern.

It's was a wonderful trip to Bern and also Moxy Hotel. This is my first time in Moxy and my expectation was that it will be amazing friendly hotel and it was more then amazing. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this hotel. When we went to check in, we got a WARM welcome from reception staff member. They explained about hotel, Bern ticket and the old town. The man at the reception gave us a voucher for a welcome drink which was very nice. Room was super cute but we did not found a laundry, but there was an ironing room. The thing which I loved the most in a room was a welcome message on a TV!! Overall, I recommend this hotel for everyone!!!

Excellent hotel. Just a few minutes by bus and/or tram from Bern. (Free if you stay 3 nights or more.) Choose a room in the newer, quieter annexe at the back. 2nd floor, west facing. Lovely to sit on the balcony in the evening sun. Book direct with the hotel is the hotel’s recommendation and they are more likely to take notice of any requests. Good tea room and restaurant. Plenty of outdoor tables too. Spacious private underground parking. Not too many spaces outside hotel. Didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment. Minibar, kettle, mineral water etc in room. Very Swiss, very nice. Even (some of) the internal doors were polite (they open as you approach).

PPengguna TetamuThis hotel is a short bus ride from the main train station. The rooms are modern & ours was large. No one & no instructions on how to turn on the lights or operate the roll down shutters or anything else in the room. It was frustrating. There are large patio doors (no patio though) that open with electric roll down shutters. But our room faced busy train tracks & so leaving those doors open meant hearing VERY frequent train traffic late into the night & then starting again in the early morning. It wasn’t pleasant. Another thing to know about this hotel is the A/C is controlled & is central to the ENTIRE hotel and it’s not cool in the rooms🥵. There is NO adjusting it in your room or for your room 🥵. It is just what it is. We were advised to open our patio doors to get more air🤪. That would work if it’s cool outside AND there were not the train traffic! There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom and that just adds humidity to the room with no way to vent it. So this hotel is modern meets we don’t trust you. We would not stay here again & from now on even if the hotel says there is a/c we will have to ask the further question about who controls it & the temp.

PPengguna TetamuTaking the hotel at face value and considering the price we paid (I think quite a good deal from hotels.com) we were really pleased with our stay. La Pergola isn’t in the middle of the city centre, but it’s quite close and well connected by public transport (which they give you a free pass for)! We parked our car there and got around on busses. The man at reception kindly didn’t charge us for parking as there was almost no demand for it that night. The service staff in general were really nice. The hallways and common spaces are a bit bleak, but functional - it’s clear they’ve saved money here. The sound isolation isn’t the best either. But the room itself is actually great! Big enough for suitcases and stuff to be strewn around because of a clever use fo space. Proper outdoor blinds for a good night’s sleep on the comfy king size bed. Body wash available, nothing fancy but does the job. Honestly, for what we expected, it surpassed, so we were happy with our stay. Is it the best hotel in the world, no. Do you get what you pay for in expensive but beautiful Bern, yes. Good for those on budget!

PPengguna TetamuThe hotels in the center of Bern where I usually stay were all booked for at least one night of my stay at the end of August/early September. I knew that Ibis was new, so I thought I'd try it. It's quite convenient to the tram (no. 9), which the hotel can give you a free ticket for. The front desk staff were all quite helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet seemed expensive (Sfr 16), especially since items weren't kept filled. Then I found that the Ibis-Budget breakfast had the items I liked, was Sfr. 3 less expensive, and items were kept filled. I'm not sure if the cross-over is always possible, but it worked for my last day. And I found that for what was offered, the price was OK (coffee and a croissant at my favorite Glatz bakery were about Sfr 9; the hotel had muesli, rolls and croissants, and various types of coffee, plus juice and other options).

This hotel was selected for me by the University of Bern where I taught a summer course. The location is excellent, close to the university in a very nice neighborhood with shops and good restaurants within a short walk. The hotel itself is basic albeit functional. One asset that it has though is a nice small garden in the back. The main drawback was the lack of air conditioning during the hot summer. There was, however, a standing fan that was quite effective in keeping the place cool. The shower space was rather tight for a big guy like me. The reception has limited hours but can be contacted in the evening by a phone.
