The worst experience of my life! I planned to visit the beautiful city of Bern with my family a few years ago. The visit to the city was wonderful and to top it off I chose a four star “Boutique Hotel” to stay with my family and have a great experience. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! The hotel put my family in a room on the top floor in the ATTIC with small windows and no air circulation. To solve this, the “four star Boutique Hotel” put a fan in the room. Apart from this problem, the room had a hydraulic problem and the hotel found a very creative solution to solve the problem! The entrance door to the room was cut and through it passed a tube that entered through the outside of the wall reaching the bathroom with the door also cut! a work of art that unfortunately does not match the expectations I had for a “Boutique Hotel” in Bern - Switzerland! A very sad experience! I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! ( attached photos )

The Sorell Hotel Ador is located in the center of Bern within easy walking distance of the main train station and Berns charming Old Town with its wide range of shopping possibilities. The Federal Building Bundeshaus bear pit cathedral and clock bell tower known as the Zytgloggeturm are all sightseeing highlights which can be reached from the hotel in just a few minutes. The hotel has excellent access to public transport. The Parkhaus City West provides sufficient parking spaces for guests traveling by car.

This is a sympathetic and simple hotel located in the middle of Bern, a short walk from the railway station, the university and the old town. My room was functional and clean. As is common in Europe, instead of a queen-sized bed, the bed had two single mattresses next to each other. Not that it really matters, but a queen bed would be more comfortable. Another minus during the heatwave was the lack of air conditioning, although this, too, is typical for Europe. There was a standalone cooling machine in the room, which was a definite help. The hotel has a nice lobby with a small terrace where you can enjoy a drink or a snack. The staff all were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also good. I'd stay again.

I recently just got back from a work trip where I stayed at the Ibis Styles Bern City for 2 nights and would highly recommend this as a place to stay. We needed somewhere reasonably priced with good amenities nearby and functional to work from - this hotel ticked all the boxes. The reception staff were really friendly on arrival and it's great that your booking comes with free use of the cities public transportation. The rooms are modern. with extremely comfy beds and all the facilities you would need. My only complaints about the room would be that the pillows were smaller than normal size and the towels weren't full body size, but those are only small things. The breakfast buffet was good and you can borrow a glass bottle to fill up with water on your floor which was handy. Across the road there are lots of restaurants, a superb coffee shop and a supermarket, everything you could need within walking distance. I would definitely choose to stay here again should I need to return to Bern.

Stayed in this hotel for two weeks during my official visit in Switzerland. Located just opposite to Schonegg Tram stop, this hotel is just 10 mins from Bern Bahnof (Railway Station). This is an old design hotel with all modern amenities. The staff at the reception are polite helpful. The room which I got was at the end of the corridor which was quite small in terms of width. The bed was also quite small. The room was giving a vibe of coziness though. The bathroom was neat and clean but was small The hotel has an in house restaurant located in the first floor. Overall the food in the menu were quite expensive. The room rent didn’t include complimentary breakfast so the breakfast was also quite expensive ( 7.5 CHF for express and 19.5 for Buffet) Positives 1. Courteous Staff 2. Free High speed Wi Fi 3. Complimentary Public Transport pass 4. Clean and Hygienic room 5. B’ful view from the window 6. Check In and Check out was smooth Negatives 1. Small room 2. Items in the mini bar were quite expensive 3. Small bed 4. Air Condition in the room was bit confusing in terms of controlled heating/cooling

With all the modern conveniences in our Moxy, you might be tempted to just chill out in one of our 130 rooms. But once the party starts, you'll find out that our crew is ready to turn the heat up. When it's time to crash, head back to your minimalistic, loft-inspired hotel room with ultra-modern furnishings, free WiFi and walk-in showers.

Stayed here to be close to the stadium, which is a 5 min walk away on the other side of the Wankdorf train station. Room was a reasonable size and clean, good shower and firm bed with decent pillows. The bathroom sink had trouble draining which was a bit annoying. Service at check-in/out was on the slow side and could be improved. Bar/lounge area was nice and had a good variety of drinks/snacks as well as board games and a fussball table. Lots of work stations available too. Overall, it was a good value for Switzerland and fine for one night. Even if you don't need to be near the stadium, it is a good budget option in Bern since you get free local public transport and there are frequent trains to the main Bern station (3 min ride).

PROS - Modern clean rooms with comfortable beds and reading lights. - Fast and easy route to the centre via the bus (free to guests!) - Black out blinds - Two bed apartment was very spacious - Laundry facilities (washer and dryer, 2 francs each) were really helpful, and clearly signposted - Parking including reasonably fast electric car charging - Concierge was available, helpful and very friendly. CONS - The air con was very slow even when turned up to the highest setting, and rooms were hot. Windows don’t open. - The breakfast was abysmal value. No fruit selection (just the usual bulk-bought fruit salad; it doesn’t cost much to put some apples and seasonal fruit in a bowl to choose from!). The scrambled eggs were rated inedible by the whole family. No baguette or whole loaves to slice, just large individual rolls and some white sliced processed bread.

This hotel is a short bus ride from the main train station. The rooms are modern & ours was large. No one & no instructions on how to turn on the lights or operate the roll down shutters or anything else in the room. It was frustrating. There are large patio doors (no patio though) that open with electric roll down shutters. But our room faced busy train tracks & so leaving those doors open meant hearing VERY frequent train traffic late into the night & then starting again in the early morning. It wasn’t pleasant. Another thing to know about this hotel is the A/C is controlled & is central to the ENTIRE hotel and it’s not cool in the rooms🥵. There is NO adjusting it in your room or for your room 🥵. It is just what it is. We were advised to open our patio doors to get more air🤪. That would work if it’s cool outside AND there were not the train traffic! There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom and that just adds humidity to the room with no way to vent it. So this hotel is modern meets we don’t trust you. We would not stay here again & from now on even if the hotel says there is a/c we will have to ask the further question about who controls it & the temp.

Excellent hotel. Just a few minutes by bus and/or tram from Bern. (Free if you stay 3 nights or more.) Choose a room in the newer, quieter annexe at the back. 2nd floor, west facing. Lovely to sit on the balcony in the evening sun. Book direct with the hotel is the hotel’s recommendation and they are more likely to take notice of any requests. Good tea room and restaurant. Plenty of outdoor tables too. Spacious private underground parking. Not too many spaces outside hotel. Didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment. Minibar, kettle, mineral water etc in room. Very Swiss, very nice. Even (some of) the internal doors were polite (they open as you approach).

PPengguna TetamuThe experience at Hotel Bellevue Palace was truly impressive. We were welcomed by the General Manager of the hotel at check-in and all the staff members were very welcoming and friendly.
The location of the hotel is about a 10-15 min walk from the Bern Banhof and centrally situated in the city of Bern. The room was spacious with a small balcony, a powder room, and a bathroom. The work desk also had its own power sockets compatible with various plugs from all over the world.
Checkout was smooth and easy and the front desk staff (I believe it was Paula) offered to help us to load our bags to our car and gave us a bottle of water for the journey.
The experience was truly 5 stars and is well worth the cost.

La Pergola isn’t in the middle of the city centre, but it’s quite close and well connected by public transport (which they give you a free pass for)! We parked our car there and got around on busses. The man at reception kindly didn’t charge us for parking as there was almost no demand for it that night. The service staff in general were really nice. The hallways and common spaces are a bit bleak, but functional - it’s clear they’ve saved money here. The sound isolation isn’t the best either. But the room itself is actually great! Big enough for suitcases and stuff to be strewn around because of a clever use fo space. Proper outdoor blinds for a good night’s sleep on the comfy king size bed. Body wash available, nothing fancy but does the job. Honestly, for what we expected, it surpassed, so we were happy with our stay. Is it the best hotel in the world, no. Do you get what you pay for in expensive but beautiful Bern, yes. Good for those on budget!

PPengguna TetamuWas staying during New Year's Eve. At first I thought it would be noisy but chose a quiet room. The room was very clean and felt warm and welcoming. Finding a room was good. Quiet at breakfast. Good enough for breakfast. In conclusion, I was surprised that the rooms in the old town hotel would have such good rooms with four to five star standards. I'm glad I stayed here and will definitely come back to stay again. Recommended for Everyone.

PPengguna TetamuSuper hôtel, accueil très sympa et chaleureux. Nous étions dans une chambre Budget, très propre et silencieuse malgré la promiscuité entre les chambres. Situé au nord de la ville l’hôtel se trouve juste à côté d’un arrêt de tram qui vous permet d’accéder en 10min au centre ville, sinon le centre ville est à moins de 30min à pied. Aussi vous pouvez obtenir des billets de transport gratuit pour la durée de votre séjour. Nous n’avons pas eu la chance de tester le petit déjeuner trop cher pour des des petits français comme nous. Je recommande également, par beau temps, d’aller aux piscine gratuites et extérieure situées en dessous du parlement et à côté de l’Aar avec une possibilité à cet endroit de se jeter dedans et se laisser emporter par le courant sous la surveillance d’un maître nageur plutôt attirant. J’ai fein la noyade mais malheureusement il n’est pas venu à mon secours. Pour les amateurs de speed dating je vous recommande le plongeoir ou même le petit restaurant où plein de gens très beau viendront acheter des trucs que vous, en tant que français, n’auront pas la chance d’acheter. Bref l’hôtel est super bien ! Et si vous avez pas beaucoup d’argent des restaurants situés le long du chemin du retour à l’hôtel en partant du centre ville sont très abordable.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotels in the center of Bern where I usually stay were all booked for at least one night of my stay at the end of August/early September. I knew that Ibis was new, so I thought I'd try it. It's quite convenient to the tram (no. 9), which the hotel can give you a free ticket for. The front desk staff were all quite helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet seemed expensive (Sfr 16), especially since items weren't kept filled. Then I found that the Ibis-Budget breakfast had the items I liked, was Sfr. 3 less expensive, and items were kept filled. I'm not sure if the cross-over is always possible, but it worked for my last day. And I found that for what was offered, the price was OK (coffee and a croissant at my favorite Glatz bakery were about Sfr 9; the hotel had muesli, rolls and croissants, and various types of coffee, plus juice and other options).

This hotel was selected for me by the University of Bern where I taught a summer course. The location is excellent, close to the university in a very nice neighborhood with shops and good restaurants within a short walk. The hotel itself is basic albeit functional. One asset that it has though is a nice small garden in the back. The main drawback was the lack of air conditioning during the hot summer. There was, however, a standing fan that was quite effective in keeping the place cool. The shower space was rather tight for a big guy like me. The reception has limited hours but can be contacted in the evening by a phone.
