Hotel du Nord

Located in the city center, which is almost entirely pedestrian (as a customer of a hotel, you can drive in), this hotel cost half of the price of every other hotel we looked at. High points: they fit all five of us in one room, with two double (very firm) beds and a twin size bed. Everything was clean and in good working order (wifi Fi, tv, private bathroom facilities, lights, curtains, etc.). Staff was very kind and quick to respond. Excellent location with citadel bus and tourist train at the end of the street. Breakfast (additional fee) was excellent with many cold options such as croissants, cheese, a wide variety of fresh fruit, ham, boxed cereal, bread, and hot coffee, cocoa, and tea. Low points: hallway smelled faintly of cigarettes (room was fine). The elevator was too small for a wheelchair. I've got mild mobility issues so I pay attention to details pertaining to accessibility. The room was so small it wouldn't accommodate a wheelchair and I think a person with a walker or even a cane would find it uncomfortable or even inaccessible. The bathroom (a very narrow bath with handheld shower head) was a real challenge for me and I ended up needing my husband's assistance. That said, I spoke to the lady at the front desk. We were only staying for one night but I asked if I could call in future for a room with a shower etc. and she absolutely said that would work and they would arrange whatever we needed. So I recommend calling them (they speak English, German, and Spanish in addition to French) if you have any concerns. I don't know whether they have ground floor rooms that are wheelchair accessible, for instance. TL;DR: a great little place with very helpful staff, clean and very well located. Excellent price but don't expect luxury, just a pleasant stay, so long as you call for any specific needs in advance.

Super petit hôtel familial dans le vieux Besançon, mais au calme. Accueil chaleureux, personnalisé. Tout est très propre, très agréable. Petit déjeuner au top, très attentionné également. J'étais venue pour le travail, je garde l'adresse pour revenir au titre perso. En plus les chiens sont admis, moyennant une participation tout à fait raisonnable.

C'est absolument charmant. Un personnel souriant qui vous conduit jusqu'à votre place de parking et vice versa au moment du départ. Bonne literie et bon confort. Ne vous laissez pas circonvenir par la complexité du cheminement pour vous rendre à l’hôtel situé en cœur de ville, en zone semi piétonne. Osez affronter la borne qui s'escamotera très aimablement devant vous

ein sehr schön gelegenes kleines Hotel, mitten in der Altstadt, Parkplatz vorhanden in 300m Entfernung, gegen erschwingliche Gebühr, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal und gutes Frühstück, durch die gute Lage kann man die ganze Altstadt "erlaufen"

Accueil attentionné et efficace. Chambres simples mais assez grandes et confortables. Petit déjeuner plus que correct. Tarif très raisonnable. Rue très calme la nuit. Bref, c'est un très bon rapport qualité-prix

Excellent hôtel au centre ville. Les chambres sont accueillantes, très propres, tandis que les salles-de-bain sont grandioses. Accueil chaleureux et excellent petit-déjeuner. Je retourne dans cet hôtel à chacun de mes séjours à Besançon
