Pudong Airport to Shanghai: By Shanghai Maglev Train
The Shanghai Maglev Train starts from Longyang Road Station on Metro Line 2 in the west and ends at Pudong Terminal 1 and 2 Station in the east. The line is 30 kilometers long and the single-line running time is only 7 minutes and 20 seconds. It is the world's first high-speed maglev train put into commercial operation, with a departure interval of 15 to 40 minutes.
The Shanghai Maglev Train has a designed speed of 430 km/h, but an actual speed of about 380 km/h. I am very happy with my first stay in Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Premier Twin room was very new and clean. Overall nice hotel if you are traveling with friends, couple or business. But if you are with babies, and traveling during autumn, it might be less ideal.
When we arrived the first night, the room was pretty cold. We thought of adjusting the room temperature to shower our baby, but we were told that the aircon is central controlled, and no heating is available during the time we were there (night temperature was around 14-16 degree Celsius). Although they provided a portable heater, the heater was not able to warm up the entire room, and has to be very close to baby in order to keep him warm, which is a little bit dangerous because the heating parts are exposed and could easily burn us when accidentally touched.
Also, other than cot, the hotel does not provide anything else for baby/infant - such as shower bucket, sterilizer like other hotels I have stated. But overall it is good hotel, just that maybe not for families with young baby and traveling during this time of the year.DariMYR 426

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times. In fact I almost every month and for several days or weeks. I have chosen to stay at this hotel due to its well positioned location.
This is however the first time that I’m writing a review about this hotel. The reason is because the majority of my stays haven’t been as positive as this one due to shortcomings in the service. I will not go into details about that at this time and I want to mention my positive experience during this stay.
When I arrived the doorman greeted politely and helped me with my luggage which was much appreciated.
When I arrived for check in, I just waisted for a couple of minutes which is rather short and unusual for this hotel. The receptionist, named Red greeted me with a friendly smile and apologized for the waiting time. By doing that, he already gave me a positive impression. He helped me check in very quickly and as he realized that I stayed for many times and that I like to book the premium room as I prefer a bit larger room than the standard rooms, he gave me a room upgrade. As he also saw that I stay so frequently and never had any outstanding payments for mini bar etc. he did not ask me to pay any deposit. His recognition and courtesy made me feel happy and feel how the service of a five star hotel should in fact be. He also handed me two cocktail vouchers for the top floor bar and explained with enthusiasm that I can go to enjoy a drink there. Finally he wished me to have a good stay and I went to my room.
The room he arranged was more beautiful than the one I originally booked. Nearly same size but looked much more pleasant which I like very much.
He made this arrival much appreciated and I certainly hope that there will be more people like Red working at this hotel. Then I can easily say that I choose this hotel not only for the location but also for the service.DariMYR 635

The ARTS and MR LIU HAI’s (刘海先生）art tour actually is the soul of J Hotel. MR LIU, a Shanghai local gentleman, uses the very classic and professional style to bring the guests immersed every piece of art, mainly presented China traditional culture in a fancy and modern visions.
J Hotel has me understand more of my mother country, China and first time experienced the old but classic Shanghai GENTLEMAN hospitality, that might be only can see in the movie about 1930s THE SHANGHAI BOUND.
I saw every foreigners were so impressed when they see the China art and I am so proud to swing that J Hotel is becoming a new icon of China welcome more and more friends to from all around the world. I highly recommend and I definitely make J Hotel my home in Shanghai.

Compliments should also go to one of their male hotel staff 汪鹏, who patiently searched for my Taobao parcels for almost 45 mins, as two of the parcels were“missing”. 汪鹏 calmly took further steps to understand which items were missing, which courier sent the package, and also whether they were correctly sent. Although I got non-smoking room there was smell of cigarettes in the room. Room was changed by reception team pretty quick and next room was not so smelly. I like the idea of movie theatre so much! I went there on weekends before Halloween so the decorations also in Halloween theme.
I booked a room without window and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all! The Air-conditioning worked well even in autumn. The curtain switches made me feel like being in theatre. A large TV can access to VIP WeTV so I watched Conan the movie in Chinese version, and had a cup of free popcorn from downstairs. Very good choice to stay here.
However, since the location is a bit far from metro and it’s rainy a lot, I took Didi to everywhere.

DO NOT book this hotel unless you are planning to drive or take a taxi every time you enter the hotel. Getting to the hotel while walking is very difficult: It's about a 25-30 minute hike from the subway station (map apps will lead you through street that are not accessible) and requires a 15 minute walk that includes hiking up a steep incline through a parking garage and then a *very* long walk across blazingly hot parking lots (no shade) while dodging cars (no sidewalks). The room itself was great, though! No cigarette smoke smell, new, and clean.

展會期間入住4晚，真心不推薦，入住第一晚十點半都過了還有派出所來查房，就問一下入住名字，入住幾個人。另外樓下KTV唱歌的聲音特別大，每天到凌晨四點，馬路上不知道是KTV的還是洗浴中心的人，也是每天晚上很多人大聲聊天，凌晨三點被吵醒了好幾個晚上，問酒店前台，説是KTV的人。酒店洗手盆返臭味。DariMYR 211

This hotel and room was perfect for what we wanted. We had a day layover and the hotel was able to check us in at 8am to give us plenty of time before we checked out later that evening. We couldn’t ask for a better location, just a few steps off of Nanjing pedestrian road and less than 5 minute walk from People’s square metro station.
We booked the windowless room which again was perfect for what we needed but is small and if staying longer I would definitely recommend a slightly bigger room with a window. The only other negative was that the room slightly smelt of smoke where someone had been smoking in it despite being a non smoking room.
I will definitely stay here again if in Shanghai as great location and staff were helpful.DariMYR 215
