Hotel di Bolsover District

I have used this place a few times for groups. This time they really fell short. There is no one in charge. Very difficult to speak to a manager. Issues with the restaurant. Short staffed. Food was too salty. Soya sauce based dishes were not edible. No one asked when sent back unfinished if there was an issue. Only robots delivering food and very inexperience staff. Couldn't order more drinks in good time. Breakfast is buffet and is very basic. Ok. It is clean. However, for £250 a room I think that it is overpriced. Thank goodness for Trip.com much better rate 2 days before the event. Baths do not drain. Taps and fittings are loose or not finished properly. Poor customer service overall, despite having 5 rooms in our group and dinner for 10. Said they would call me back. Which they have not. That was after speaking to a man who said that he was not the manager, had only worked there for 8 weeks, yet told me that I was not familiar with the service industries! Such a shame. Will have to find somewhere else next time. Not a hint of a smile or an apology or anything to say that he would feed back. 🤷

The manager at this IBIS was a genuine 5-Star success. He was professional, courteous, focussed and helpful. Having stayed in numerous 5-Star hotels in Japan, Hong Kong and Shanghai in the past 20 years (and trained staff at several hotels including Hyatt and Hilton), this guy would easily fit in with any one of them. The room /bed great, Other guests the problem, family 5 arrived 12 midnight, back & forth BANGING CAR DOORS each time, then 3.15am their car alarm goes off, night staff phoned her and her reply ”its always doing that” My suggestion you have LARGE notice outside and in rooms (as they doo at airports) Please close you doors silently as others are sleeping 24 hours -- some travelers sleep in late so it applies in day light hours too. Receptionist Katie was very helpful re where we could have breakfast and about voucher, which we bought, good value

Worst night I’ve had in a hotel for years door’s banging nearly all night constantly noisy people obviously not working people. Seriously considering swapping hotels for next visit can’t risk that again
