Hotel berhampiran Antigo Estádio do Lima di Bonfim

Me and my family are planning a holiday to Algarve, but as direct flights don’t run everyday to Faro, we decided to make a 3-day short trip at Porto before heading to Algarve. We saw Almada Domus on Expedia and decided to stay there as the photos look pretty and it describes its location as very central to all tourists attractions in Porto. Unfortunately, after we made the booking we realised that the hotel is actually located some blocks away from the main streets and requires a short climb uphill to get to, which will be a challenge for my husband who suffers from recurring Achilles tendinitis that makes walking difficult and would require walking aides. On the same day, within 2 hours after making our booking, I emailed the hotel to enquire about cancellation. I explained to Fabio (which I assume is the manager/ owner of the hotel) about my situation and at that time he seemed to be willing to accommodate my request but advised me to contact Expedia directly. I then spoke with Expedia and was told that they can do a free cancellation upon confirming with the hotel that they’re ok with it. Over 20 emails back and forth with the hotel since last evening, and this morning Fabio abruptly changed his tone and said he will not allow a free cancellation and we will have to pay a 50% penalty, as the booking is now “outside the 2-hour cancellation window”, and it would be “unfair to other guests” (even though I did contact the hotel about cancelling within 2 hours after making my booking, hoping to minimise the impact on their business). I was also told by Fabio that “Porto is a hilly city like Lisbon, which are not friendly for people with walking difficulties” and said but we can Uber everywhere…. I was very shocked with his last comments and obviously disappointed that he was unwilling to help even though he said he would at the beginning when I first contacted.

We stayed at this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis for 7 nights. The hotel was modern and clean, staff were very helpful. The room was cleaned daily and products restocked. The location was perfect for us as situated close to motorway. We had a hire car for the week so the hotel car park was great for us. Burger King was next door so handy if wanted a quick coffee day or night. The hotel does have a bar. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, alongside a full continental selection. I recommend this hotel, we would certainly stay there again.

First floor unit. Smells of mildew/mold, including the bed sheets. spiders in the corners of the bedroom and a noticeable gnat problem. Bedroom lights also don’t work, It’s a shame because the staff seems so nice! They were the sweetest people, and were willing to accommodate extra people! just the first floor rooms need moisture and pest solutions. The WiFi also cuts off if you try to access it from the bedroom.

Vi alguns comentários que mencionavam a antiguidade dos quartos e a falta de modernidade. A realidade NÃO é essa. O Hotel é maravilhoso. A entrada é enorme, os funcionários são super simpáticos e facilitam a estadia. Ficamos num quarto com vista para o mar. Com uma boa casa de banho, com uma banheira grande. Os armários do quarto são imensos! Tem um sofá cama mesmo que seja um quarto para dois. A televisão era igualmente enorme! O quarto é bonito, com uma decoração, e aconchegante. Tem ar condicionado e um mini bar que estava incluído no preço todas as bebidas do mesmo. A zona do restaurante era muito bonita. A piscina? Muito boa. A água estava sempre morna. De 0 a 10, avalio o Novotel com um 9 e só não dou um 10 pelo tamanho da piscina. É um hotel muito bom e procurado por famílias com crianças, o que faz com que a piscina esteja sempre cheia. Quanto ao pequeno almoço também quero deixar um elogio, pois é bastante variado e nunca deixam acabar as coisas. Gostei muito

1. This is 5 star accommodation. Historic building with character but modern. Perfect for two couples. Matching accommodation no fights over the best rooms which are on separate floors. 2. Perfect location for exploring Porto minutes from main areas but quiet 3. Perfect host. Helpful and accommodating. 4. Clean, quality towels, and bath products etc.... 5 100% recommended..

Stayed four night as a base for Porto centre. Would give it 3.5 if possible to use halfs. Rooms were clean although showing signs of wear. Bed made up daily and fresh towels. Lack of shelf space in cupboard. Used for breakfast once but also tried the Mitica Inspiracao out of the back door twice for a more relaxed setting and no temptation to overfill v the buffet. Shower has good temperature and flow. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Nearby supermarket for anything you need. The bus from the airport took 50 mins during the morning midweek, and initially goes away from the hotel before heading back towards it. If I was doing it again I would take the Metro to Ramalde the nearest stop and then get an Uber to the hotel. The airport Metro is just behind the road at arrivals. Bus 304 seemed the quicker bus than the 300 or 301 into town. Had issues with bus reliability getting back from town after 8pm using information from route planner on Google maps .. chasing round various bus stops near the Town Hall Square to no avail. Ended up prefering to get the Metro back to Ramalde and then €3 for an Uber. Opted to use luggage lockers at Trindade Metro, €6 small for upto 12 hours rather than detour back to the hotel on the last day. Other sizes available but limited availability.

Great hotel. Has everything going for it. Breakfast good choice. Room good size . All amenities. House staff lovely and helpful. Restaurant excellent, worthwhile booking to ensure a seat. Spa and indoor pool very relaxing.

Great location close to the Metro, although a bit noisy as there is construction outside and a barking next door. The rooms are tiny with minimal amenities. This is not a 4 star hotel as our package promised. Just a heads up, they charge you for extra coffee pods. Staff here is professional and very helpful-they wear many hats! They helped us book an amazing tour. Walking distance to shopping, an amazing indoor food court, and grocery stores. The breakfast room is very nice, and has good selections.

Great concept, excellent transport links. Really liked the vibe and local neighbourhood had good places to eat
