Hotel Piccolo Lido

We visited out of season during storm. We wanted to spend a special evening lookng out at the Meditarranean. The room was basic and could be improved , but it was not unexpected as we'd done our research and read about the hotel. Despite the gale outside the view was spectacular from the balcony and when the storm ended the following day we had an hour sitting on the lovely balcony watching the sea. I felt the room could be easily improved, but I guess with the lovely balcony/views it isn't necessary to work hard at fixtures and fittings. We booked the meal at the hotel. 35 Euros each. When we looked at the menu on display I realised it wasn't going to work for me. Hamburger or fish were the options. My husband spoke to reception and queried whether to cancel our reservation and was assured that if we mentioned this to the waiter an aternative could be found. We assumed there were probably vegetarian alternatives e.g. eggs or perhaps a pasta dish. So we arrived at the restaurant. We had the conversation with the waiter as advised by reception. Clearly it was going to be more problematic than anticipated. I was presented with a second course of a small plate (side plate size) with approx 5 pieces of boiled broccoli on it. We paid the full price for this meal. I did mention it to Reception as I left as this may keep happening and really isn't what you hope for on a romantic evening at the seaside. I was given a sympathetic nod and attentive manner. I felt they needed to be aware they were giving advice to ask for an alternative option and guess were being brocolli on a side plate. We have been so lucky in recent years with the hotel restaurants in ITaly where we have stayed - at Maggiore and Orta. It has taken me about 3 weeks to decide to write this review. I was telling a friend the story and realised it really wasn't acceptable and spoiled what should have been a lovely, if stormy evening at this resort. We will return, but not to the Piccolo Lido.

Die Lage direkt am Meer ist fantastisch, wir besuchen das familiäre Piccolo Lido immer wieder sehr gerne. Vom Zimmerbalkon übers weite Meer blicken zu können, ist für uns Schweizer - die wir fast nur Städte, Berge, Seen und Täler haben - schlicht paradiesisch. Auch das Personal (Reception, Frühstück/Restaurant und Zimmer) ist überaus sympathisch, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Die besten Strand-Restaurants in Bordighera sind mit einem kürzeren oder längeren Spaziergang bequem zu erreichen (im September sind einige allerdings bereits geschlossen). Auch ein Spaziergang rauf in den alten Dorfkern ist empfehlenswert - mehr Italianità geht fast nicht. Wir freuen uns bereits jetzt auf unseren nächsten Aufenthalt im Piccolo Lido!

Poche parole per un locale con gestione delirante che non ne merita di più. Non è un vero ristorante, non sono in grado di cucinare e servire per i posti tavola che hanno. Abbiamo atteso una vita per qualsiasi cosa, perfino la raccolta delle ordinazioni. Cibo obbiettivamente di qualità molto scarsa e in porzioni ridotte. Servizio pessimo: disattento, assente e scorbutico. Unica cosa positiva la posizione con vista mare, pur in uno spazio ristrettissimo. Ma questo non può giustificare le carenze di una gestione tutta da rivedere.

Hotel davvero meraviglioso e assolutamente da consigliare. Ci sono stata tre volte in due anni e sicuramente ci tornerò ancora. Staff estremamente cordiale e sempre disponibile. Camere pulite e spaziose. Vista unica direttamente fronte mare. Hotel dispone anche di una terrazza sul mare dove anche in primavera si riesce a prendere il sole grazie alla posizione protetta. Pasti abbondanti e sempre vari, tutto gustosissimo. Davvero tutto ottimo.

Abbiamo soggiornato 4 notti in settimana. l'hotel è accogliente in posizione incantevole. Abbiamo prenotato una camera con vista mare e ne è valsa proprio la pena. Il personale è molto cortese e disponibile alla bisogna. Provata la cucina la prima sera e, forse per il periodo di inizio febbraio non molto affollato, non ci ha entusiasmato nella scelta. Pecca dolente è stata purtroppo la colazione: per chi come noi si delizia di soli pane, burro e marmellata, e magari di una fetta di torta, è stata una delusione. Pane regolarmente raffermo e torte palesemente stantie. Peccato!

Abbiamo trascorso le vacanze natalizie in questo splendido hotel sul mare. Ci siamo trovati stupendamente bene; ottimo cibo e pulizia perfetta! I proprietari Antonella e Marco e le figlie Vanessa e Francesca sono gentilissimi e attenti a soddisfare ogni esigenza del cliente in un ambiente cordiale e famigliare. Lo consigliamo vivamente!
