We book Premier Inn regularly and had considered other hotels as well as Airbnb. However, we’ve not been disappointed before and so we booked. We will not be staying in Brighton ever again and are reconsidering staying with the company in future. The room was cold, this was to be expected as the weather was not great. We put the heating on at night and it switched itself off. This made the room cold and we both woke with a crick in the neck from the coldness in the room. The hotel is not soundproofed at all, which is disappointing when we’ve booked a mini break for rest and relaxation. Not only were we woken early by the bin collections, we could also hear everything from the room next door. This was literally from when they flushed the toilet to when they showered. Our bed head was obviously on the same wall as their television, as we heard this as well which was what woke us up early on our second morning. There seemed little point in complaining as these issues are due to the poor infrastructure of the hotel, which staff would not be able to remedy. Having stayed in many different Premier Inn over the years, this is the worst level of noise we’ve experienced. While I appreciate this is a city centre location, we’ve stayed at both Gatwick and Heathrow. If they can manage to soundproof hotels which are in a literal flight path, there really is no excuse for Brighton.
