Hotel Lido by Phoenicia

Lovely people, nice and clean hotel. Our room was in the first floor and noisy, that was the only con of the hotel. Beautifully decorated and nice breakfast. They said that they didn’t have any alternative milk the first morning for breakfast, but they had it for the second day. Good service.

Would have been 5 out of 5 but the rude and unhelpful staff particularly in the breakfast room lost out on a star. The hotel is beautifully and uniquely decorated in a boutique 1930's style . Every wall is covered in oil paintings and works of art and every surface has collections of clocks , telephones etc. The amazing "sailing ship " chandeliers in the public areas are a joy to be hold. The hotel is spotlessly clean . Check in was very easy and the receptionist was the only friendly member of staff we encountered . The original 1930's refurbished lift is another great quirky feature. We had a beautifully decorated room at the front of the hotel with a balcony overlooking Bucharest.There was a desk and chair and 2 quirky armchairs and a coffee table. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. There was a well stocked tea/coffee tray with 2 bottles of water which were replaced each day , there was also a large fridge. The en suite was large and spotless , the towels were a little small but did the job. Plenty of toiletries again replenished daily. The bed was large and comfortable. The hotel is in a great position , 10/15 minute walk into the Old town and other attractions. Plenty of interesting lighting combinations in both the bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast consisted of a large buffet style selection of continental items as well as cooked items - these were at best lukewarm on each of our 6 days. This is where the hotel is let down by rude and ignorant staff in the breakfast room who completely ignore you and on one morning a staff member was asleep with his head on the table !!! We ordered 2 breakfast boxes as we were leaving before 7am on one of the mornings to go on a trip when we went to reception we were told there had been a technical difficulty in the kitchen and they were unable to provide these ! Poor service letting down a great hotel.

This place is stunning and welll worth a visit. Great value for money, clean and the breakfast was really nice. The whole hotel has an awesome art deco vibe and the working historic lift is a nice feature. It felt very luxurious and the staff were so helpful and polite. Great location for exploring the old town and Therme spa. Would 100% stay here again.

WOW thank you 😊 what a hotel better in person than photos. Each floor, each level, each room has a wow factor. Staff were amazing friendly helpful and so nice from door man to restaurant staff. Breakfast as vast loads of options and good hours service. Thank you for making my birthday amazing 👌🏿😍

Hotel building and decor itself is nice, however having booked a “executive suite” with a bath I discovered on the 1st night there was no hot water. Called reception who sent someone up, water eventually got warm at best after he turned some mains valves on/off. Second night again no hot water, told reception who said I could change room but I was checking out the next morning. Asked for an alternative solution ie some for of refund to compensate for the fact we didn’t have hot water, reasonable request for a hotel that makes itself out to be upmarket. This was refused and abruptly told they had given me an option. Poor customer service that I’d expect at a budget hotel. Wouldn’t stay here again if I had the choice. Breakfast buffet isn’t great either, tables not being cleaned so nowhere to sit and the food was extremely average. Could have paid less money and stayed somewhere far better.

Nice hotel by the theatre district . Clean comfortable rooms which remind me of the movie 1408 . It has an abandoned pool at the rear which I think is pretty cool and atmospheric. The staff are friendly and helpful , the breakfast was good , the bar area is nice . Some nice artwork on the walls . The area around the hotel is actually pretty good compared to the centre which I found a little sleazy .
