Downtown Inn

Cant say much, because we didn’t stay at the booked hotel, because of our plan change, but we paid it though.

I enjoyed my stay at Downtown inn. The location is in Talaat Harb close to everything you need to see in cairo. Delicious breakfast served in the morning, hot water, clean room. Even if the the street is very vibran with people but it's calm in the room Very helpful people and friendly. I enjoyed it there

Very kind and attentive staff, everything is kept very clean, and it's an excellent location. Only a few minutes walk from the Egyptian museum, or the bus station at Tahir Square. I recommend asking the reception staff for the Orange shop if you want to get a local Sim card and data (do!) and just up the road is the best coffee (and nice juice) in Cairo (turn left and it's on the next block). It's on a vibrant busy street with lots of food and drink options nearby, but the rooms are quiet as they're at the back of the building. The furniture is a bit tired, not the newest beds, but the airco works perfectly and there is plenty of hot water in the showers.

Unbeatable location, spotless clean room and bath, extremely hospitable hosts - I couldn't ask for more! I checked in late (around 11pm) and it was a smooth process - thanks to Mr. Umar - one of the hosts. Mr. Umar is always happy to share words of wisdom from his decades of experience and I really appreciate all the food and travel tips I got from him! Mr. Ibrahim, the other host is a resourceful and energetic young man. This cool dude gave me loads of tour options (even for other cities like Aswan and Luxor), helped me exchange currency, arranged transportation. Between them and the very helpful Moustafa and Mary there's always someone at front desk, eager to assist. There's a ton to do around this area. One can walk over to the the Museum, Tahrir Square, Nasr Metro Station, Bo Bus station or the Nile in about 10 minutes. My room was surprisingly quiet considering the busy location! The railway station is about 1km away. Countless shopping and food options in the neighborhood - from touristy to very local stuff! The general vibe at the hotel is very welcoming, laid back and casual. They serve breakfast and even offered to customize it for me. There's a shared kitchen and plenty of seating in the lobby. The wifi is not the best, though it was being hogged by a few guests streaming videos all day. I found an unused wifi router in the hallway and set it up as a range extender. The hosts were immensely grateful! Made some great connections with the hosts and fellow travelers as I lounged about the lobby, sipping some of their amazing shaay :) Special mention for Ahmed - the dashing young man who drove me all around Cairo, Giza, dropped me to the train station and even invited me for a home-cooked meal! Mr. Omar and Ibrahim are ambassadors of Egyptian hospitality. They made me feel like a guest and not a customer. It was almost too good to be true! They actually convinced me to return to Egypt! I'll certainly stay again at Mr. Umar and Mr. Ibrahim's place

My daughter and I enjoyed our 3 week stay at the downtown inn hotel, the owner Ibrahim very informative very helpful with things to do and see in Cairo. The staff was amazing breakfast was great! I recommend this stay for family, singles, great getaway good breakfast.

Great little place to kick back and relax. I spent 5 nights at the downtown inn and I felt right at home. As an American I was a bit nervous going to Cairo alone but after talking to Abraham (manger) he give me a quick tour of the city and treated me with fresh fruits and drinks. I highly recommend this hotel if you are a solo traveler it’s the perfect size.

Centraly located, staff is exellent, specially frnt Desk Adam. Very helpful and always smiling.

Hotel tres calme dans le centre du Caire. Le personel est acceuillant et tres sympathique. Nous avons aussi booké un tour de 3 nuits et 4 jours avec le gérant de l'hotel à la derniere minute (croisiere sur le nil pour visiter les grands sites de l'ere pharaonienne). Il a aussi reservé nos billets d'avion. Au tout départ nous avons ete surpris d'avoir recu de sa part qu'un Voucher avec le résume du voyage au lieu d'un plan détaille comme dans les agences européennes. Mais ne vous inquietez pas! Ibrahim a ete tres professionel, et c'est comme cà que les choses se font en Egypte. Le voyage etait hyper bien organisé. Nous avons ete parfaitement pris en charge et rien n'a éte laissé au hasard. Le gros avantage de passer par lui, c'est que vous paierez beaucoup moins cher que dans une agence meme egyptienne! Enfin sachez qu'il est professionel car certifié comme Tour Manager par le ministere du tourisme egyptien. Tres bonne experience donc!
