Hotel Cala Luna

Enjoy an Aperol Spritz on the rooftop bar of this classy, charming, and devoted hotel. I do not normally give high rankings, but this hotel knocked me off my feet, into a warm, cosy, and clean bed, after feeding me a home baked croissant to start my morning, and handing me an Aperol Spritz at the end of my day, while the Sardinian breezes tickled my tank top ties, and I gazed at the Harbour and mountains that have been populated for 1000s of years. This hotel cares about the people who stay with them. During the end of COVID, my bank would not release payment, and my reservation was cancelled. In horror, I had to fix this problem, and the Hotel was so accommodating, I was able to get my room back, with the same rate… even though the cancellation was entirely my fault. Every morning, the croissants were hand made, and literally the best I have had. I smothered them in local Sardinian butter, and topped it with different local honey, collected by fat bumblebees from a variety of Sardinian fora. The home made yoghurt was lighter fare if I wanted to compliment my croissant… and there were cheeses and cold meats in the breakfast that was included. At night, the rooftop comes alive. A light buffet is free (with drinks), and I spent the evening contemplating the ancient civilizations of Sardinia, and the delightful fizz of an Aperol Spritz. We are planning to return next year, to the same place, and cannot wait. BTW, timing is everything- we went in May, before the crowds, and were able to dine at any restaurant, walk anywhere without crowds, and enjoy the local beaches. This is the place to stay, if you want personal service from people who actually care whether your first trip post-COVID is amazing. ,

Hotel was in a convenient location - within walking distance to the main piers where you can book boat tours, beaches and local grocery store if you need to buy any essentials. Rooms were clean and had air conditioning. The ladies at the front desk were also lovely and helpful and provided recommendations when I was looking to book a boat tour - you can purchase a packed lunch from the hotel, hire a beach towel and borrow a beach umbrella for free. Breakfast had quite a few savoury and sweet options. And I recommend the Skybar, their rooftop bar for drinks and free snack buffet (from 6.30-8.30pm) in the evening - great views!

This is an excellent choice and their restaurant is outstanding. From the moment i arrived, everything was well explained, and all the staff was so helpful. The room was immaculate and had a lot of nice touches. Breakfast was the best i had in Italy. Of course, the view is great as is the location. Walking distance to everything, in between the two beaches. If i am ever back, I will be staying here.

After ordering a meal and to save the staff the trouble as we saw they were busy we asked for all the courses to be brought at once. My partners started arrived ten minutes earlier followed by my main course after which five minutes later they tried to bring my starter. When I pointed this out the waiter accused me of making a fuss, I told them to cancel my starter having started the main course already and he refused telling me to be quiet. I was forced to pay either way and when I attempted to explain that this was not so great he told me that you are not right and got aggressive with me as a customer. Very strange and uncomfortable

L'hotel è in una ottima posizione e dalla nostra stanza fronte mare si vedeva un bel panorama nonostante fosse al primo piano, quindi il piano più basso. La struttura è abbastanza nuova, con buoni infissi e un bel bagno comodo ( anche se avrei usato una lampadina led più potente). La nostra stanza familiare era molto compatta per 4 persone, cosa che non si deduceva dalla foto sul sito, ed il letto matrimoniale troppo corto. La colazione buona e varia, con i camerieri gentili che si occupavamo di sostituire le cose mancanti. All'ultimo piano si trova una bella terrazza panoramica con bar che in questo periodo dell'anno è chiuso, ma che in estate sicuramente merita una visita. Un buon hotel, peccato per la stanza troppo piccola e calda.

Siamo stati all’hotel Cala Luna nel fine settimana, location incantevole, fronte mare, lungo il porticciolo di Cala Gonone, hotel a tre stelle, camera doppia con terrazzino attrezzato, arredi e camera in generale molto curati, letto comodo, perfetta insonorizzazione. Abbiamo usufruito anche della sauna. Cena molto raffinata benché non a prezzi popolari. Colazione ben assortita.
