Son Matias Beach - Adults Only

Another 10 nights in this wonderful hotel , staff are so friendly and pleasant bar staff are great , Julie the entertainment lady stood out is so friendly encouraging you to get involved with games , as did Estele behind the bar , always a smile on her face ( sorry if i spelt her name wrong) the only ******* we had was the queues for sunbeds weccame down at 9.30 and not a sunbed to be had but lots taken with towels on and unoccupied some until lunchtime which I personally find selfish but the gate doesn't open until 9.30 the queue is large and the run like ants scattering and getting their favourite spots and they say the germans are bad !!!!the other ****** is the temperature of the food in the evening, it's barely warm bordering on cold ,the food is catered for the more mature British holidaymaker , rooms were a bit small but all have sea views which make ip for it as you're not in them fir long entertainment was very good if you could get a seat , again people go straight from early evening dinner and grab their spots from as early as 6 .30 when the entertainment starts at 9.30 All in all a lovely holiday would I return possibly yes as the location is great and the staff so pleasant and friendly , plenty of cocktail bars and restaurants close by , it's a great place for a short break in the sun and only a short flight

Great location, beach only across promenade. Only had bed and breakfast but the breakfast was to die for! Best I've ever had abroad....even did english sausage and bacon. Would have gone full board but evening meal times far too early....nothing left after 7.30pm. Staff, all lovely, friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment not bad, had worse. Motown and Soul groups good as was Abba tribute. Generally older clientele which probably explains the early dining. Rooms all face sea, lovely views, walk in shower, clean and tidy. Tea, coffee, kettle and fridge available. Didn't bother with safe as price of 5 euros per day excessive in my opinion. Sunbeds all had mattresses but were getting harder to find as we left.(end of May getting busy.) Although very hot during the day the evenings were the opposite....very cold wind, not breeze, but strong wind off the sea. Some restaurants offered blankets to customers. Nice place but not returning.

Just back from a lovely 7 night stay at Son Matius . Fabulous location and fabulous staff. Very much popular with older guests but also some younger couples. Hotel and pool area absolutely spotless. Pool area including sun beds and jacuzzi are hosed/ cleaned every morning. Pool does not open till 9.30 there was a relatively small queue waiting to get the towels on sun beds, however as the day went on the lifeguard would take towels off unused sun beds which was good. There was never a problem getting a sun bed. Food was fine typical of hotel buffet food. Julie resort entertainer was great at trying to rally round people to join activities which turned to to be really quite fun ! Acts at night entertaining. I would for sure return to this hotel and recommend it to friends / family . Special thank you to Julie for making her activities so inclusive also to Sue and Josefa who were always so welcoming in the restaurant.

Been here a number of times before, but I think this year was the best yet.Food was very good, entertainment was excellent, best yet. Plenty of sunbeds, wonderful view out of the restaurant and spotless well appointed bedrooms .Finally the super friendly and efficient staff make the holiday.

We had a lovely holiday at" Son Matias beach hotel" from 24 th of April till 1 st of May. The stuff was very friendly and polite. We had asked them in advance to accommodate us if available on the ninth floor. When we arrived ,the receptionist greeted us with a smile and welcome. We were very happy, because our request was granted. We had room 903. The room was very nice, clean, with a beautiful sea view .The food in the restaurant was very good and fresh. We are so pleased with our stay at" Son Matias beach hotel". We highly recommend it!

An above average Hotel with all the usual amenities you would expect for a resort in Mallorca. The only major downside is the prive of parking at the Hotel. They will stick you with a charge of 20 euros a day for the privalige. Having a disabled partner we obviously require accessible parking. In saying that I paid less than that for the week at the airport for secure parking. This really is the one thing that will stop us from staying here again.

Hotel recommended by friends as we have never been to Palma Nova before. First impressions we excellent. Majorca has introduced a Tourist Tax which wasn't mentioned by TUI is collected by reception ( €3.30 per person per day during May to end september reduced outside of these time)) Easy check-in by Keith who was very helpful at all times. Room key was also a charge card so you could pay for your drinks and snacks at the end of the stay (also daily if you wish). Room was on the 5th floor overlooking the pool and a lovely beach. (all rooms have a sea view) Room was very clean with lots of storage room, air conditioned which was fully adjustable. TV on wall although no UK channels, Balcony with table and chairs. Walk-in shower with bath robes nice towels also pool towels were supplied, a full range of complementarily bathroom essentials inc hairdryer. Kettle and a mini fridge in room (bottle of water and small milk in fridge). There is a safe deposit box but there is a charge for this. A iron and board is available from reception for 24 hours with a €30 fully refundable deposit. We informed staff it was our wedding anniversary during our stay and a bottle of bubbly and card was delivered to the room. (Nice touch) Evening meal is between 18:00 and 20:30. Food was OK but a small selection. Pool is not heated and small. Pool bar was very good with a selection of freshly cooked food with snacks and drinks served by very friendly and helpful bar staff. Evening entertainment was good and varied and bar was fully stocked, served by a very helpful Darren (drinks to tables was available if required). The sandy beach is very clean and is accessed during the day via a gate by the pool bar. Return access again during the day is via the same gate with use of your room key. Promenade was flat and level but if you want to go to Magaluf beach there is a steep hill. Lovely walks along the prom to the left of the hotel with plenty of shops and bars for a stop on your walks. Hotel is not really a young persons hotel. Most of the cliental was in the retirement ++ age bracket but most were well behaved (haha) and most are returning customers, maybe not suited to the hen/stag parties.

Stunning place....very clean throughout with fresh food daily. Staff are also very polite. Great location and rooms too. One negative would be the pool situation. They don't open the pool area until 09:30 which I find strange for a holiday location. This also generates an understandable queue for sunbeds which i believe could be avoided if they opened earlier. Otherwise...fantastic place!

Rooms ok, food dreadful, entertainment ok, won’t be back. Pool not heated, for what we paid food should have been more plentiful and of better quality, it did not taste good at all, presentation of food poor “healthy food”area looked distinctly unwell.
