I have given this an average review more because of my disappointment than how the room was. Christ College looked so promising.... and indeed it it is stunning. But not all of it....be warned So after a lovely day I got back to the porters lodge. I was tired. I received a map and a key. I was told I needed to walk through the college I got lost twice because what the map did not tell me was the whole of the back of the college was a building site. So I had to duck under scaffolding and Circumnavigate tarpaulin.... it was like a maze. I eventually found my way to the right place. An ugly block of flats which was certainly not in the lovely *********** photos. Not only that.... a very high Spiral staircase awaited me. I got to floor 4... I saw another stair case but it wasn’t to my room. I then saw another spiral staircase. Also not to my room. At that point I figured it was not going to get any better. So I didn't stay there. Now this was a personal choice of mine so if you are young and sprightly this might be fine for you. The room I would have stayed in was Very Cheap. Not sure if you get an en suite bathroom though. It is in a central location and the porters are very lovely and friendly. But it was not for me. There was an element of misrepresentation here, as although it said in the blurb there was building works, that is an understatement. It did mention stairs but NOT two Spiral staircases. So I think that needs to be addressed.

The location is 10 minute drive from the train station. The room is clean since we can sense the smell of the disinfectant fluid. They have a restaurant that does not run after 8 pm, but the staff were kind, and we dropped our luggage here after the checkout. Since this is more like a private house, they do not have a lift.

No bed for third person made up, called receptionist I was told someone will come and do it, this was at 19:00 no one ever came, even after following up over the phone. I spent night sleeping without bedding, on plain sofa bed without a single pillow. Terrible experience and poor service. Not enough towels, just for one person & again after calling reception- I was told that they ran out of towels!!! This was enough for my family to bare after whole day of travel, especially the room booked was Executive one. So expected to be up to highest standard and service to be over the top, this isn’t the case. Cleanliness is very poor - see pictures. Dust everywhere and this wasn’t one day worth. After asking for partial refund due to poor service, I was given a silly look and smile, advised to sent email online. Do not bother going there.

Given the £150 a night pricing and established brand name, I was unhappy to spend a combined 5 hours queuing to speak to front desk RE a pre-booking query - when they finally answered after 90 minutes wait on my 5th attempt I was immediately hung up on. I booked the ”more with your stay” option which includes parking and nothing more. Further issues occurred at check-in when they attempted to charge me £15 for parking anyway. I explained that this wasn't correct, showing them my booking confirmation and explaining that parking was included as I had confirmed pre-booking. Despite confirming that I wouldn't be charged, I was still subsequently charged £15 necessitating a further call back from myself to resolve. The stay itself was comfortable, the hotel, rooms and facilities are nice and fairly well cleaned.

We stayed at Holiday Inn for 2 nights between May 30 - June 1 2023. Overall the hotel was great and we had a pleasant stay, we had planned to visit the town center and look at the history of Cambridge thus the location was important to us. It was only a short drive (5 mins) to the centre where we could go punting, shopping and to the universities, museums and gardens. We included breakfast in our stay, which I would highly recommend there was a great selection of foods and the pancake machine was a huge win for us. The only thing we were disappointed with was the fact that dressing robes and waters which are usually complimentary in other hotels we have visited, were not included in the room for free and when we asked we were told we could drink the water from the bathroom, which was not pleasant but other factors such as the fact our room was cleaned regularly and the amazing breakfast did make up for this.

Very quiet place which offers lodgings, chalets, and houses. Also very close to Park-n-Ride to Cambridge.

Never ever stay in this horror show, I do not normally swear or leave reviews and I'm almost lost for words to describe this place, I would call it a hovel but that would be a huge improvement, I can't believe the state of it, I can't believe they have not been closed down, every inch of this place is disgusting and falling apart and full of damp and mold. On arrival the first thing that struck me was the state of the car park which is muddy and full of holes, abandoned car at the bottom under a tarpaulin. When I reached the so called ”reception” my key was laying on a table with my name scrawled on a sheet of paper, no sign of anybody around so I found my own way to the room. The hallway was dark and dilapidated with signs of damp and mold and a funny smell. When I found my room and opened it I couldn't believe my eyes I have never seen anything like this and the smell of sweat, mold and damp was overwhelming. Paper was peeling off the walls and the plaster was crumbling, every inch of this place was disgusting and covered in thick dust, everywhere you looked was grim, I can't go through how bad everything was because it was all so terrible. If you had nowhere else to go and had to spend the night on the street let me tell you that that would be better than this and I am not exaggerating, I ”slept” fully clothed on top of the horrific bed with my own personal towel wrapped around the pillow and couldn't wait to get out of there, please please just do not stay here ever.
The Jockey Club Rooms truly is a place like no other with corridors travelled by historical legends; reception rooms enjoyed by Royalty; and dining rooms overlooked by equine masterpieces. It is set in the heart of rural Newmarket; just 1.4 miles from Newmarket racecourse and 2.3 miles from The National Stud. The stunning collection of bedrooms include a self-contained Townhouse and The Kings Suite; which features an antique four poster bed and Edward VIIs original bath and taps. The elegant bedrooms retain their character and charm and all come equipped with free Wi-Fi; flat screen TV; and en-suite bathroom. Guests can experience extraordinary fine dining in Georgian splendour. Free parking. A Classic British Hotel / CB. Stay inspired.

Booked one night to enable us to go on a 'stable tour' the next mornig - absolutely everything was first class... friendly and helpful staff, lovely room with all that you could possibly want in it and one of the best breakfast choices that we've seen in a long time.
Will definitely use again...

PPengguna TetamuGreat location, lovely clean and friendly hotel with comfortable beds which enable a nice sleep after a long day. The breakfast selection is very good 10/10!
PPengguna TetamuWe stayed for one night to explore the city. We checked in slightly earlier than planned to to greeted by Mark on reception. He was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. We enjoyed his stories about his time in Dubai. He was lovely to talk to. When he found out it was my wife’s birthday he went above and beyond what we expected and left a lovely gesture in our room. He delivered fantastic customer service and I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. It was very clean, comfortable and I would stay there again.
SShiu Ching CharlesThe location is quite far from the city centre and it is difficult to find a car park. The overall environment and breakfast are excellent, and the staff is very friendly. The room is quite big, everything you need is there.
RRenskeMe and my daughter loved Madingley Hall, and the beautiful grounds. We knew about the location before we booked, so we knew it is a 15 minute taxi-ride to the centre. An excellent breakfast is included - for diner you usually have to go out. Definitely book if you are looking for a beautiful country estate, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, beautiful lawns to relax on and some peace from the busy city of Cambridge!
SStay12521509633This place is lovely; staff are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are cosy and even though we had a room overlooking the main street we did not experience any noise at all. The bed is comfy and we were provided, without asking, a fan to cool the room down. Breakfast - great. So near the city centre, just cross the bridge and you are there. Also, a Co-op across the road for picnic items etc. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.
BBerkerbeing right next to train station is priceless. Trains are available frequently and it takes 7 mins to cambridge. Lovation wise it might be even better than staying somewhere in Cambridge outskirts. breakfast was really nice but hotel/room is a bit outdated and needs a renovation. nonetheless it’s a good place for a short stay.
PPengguna TetamuA bit fussy. Hotel open only on weekends, 17 rooms total. Victorian house on a busy road, but there was no road noise. Park behind the hotel. Can leave the car in their car park after you check out. Wi-Fi works near the reception and in the basement breakfast room, but not in the guest rooms. Relatively costly. Some rooms are accessed by entering the front door, going down to the basement, and up again. Tip: you can exit through the back door to the parking lot but cannot come back the same way. Still if someone holds the door open for you, it is the easiest way to get luggage from the car to the hotel. This was not mentioned at check-in, and we carried our bags up and down many stairs! Good sized rooms, tasty full English breakfast, also some yogurt and fruits. When I tried to lift the sash window, it came out in my hands. Fortunately, I didn’t drop it on my foot. About 15 mins walk to the town, either along the main road or along the river.
PPengguna TetamuWe went for spa usage and facilities and was disappointed to find out swimming pool and spa were closed on Saturday @ 7pm. We then went around 8am on sunday only for one third of the swimming pool being closed for a few children’s swim class. The pool was already pretty small and it wasn’t as calm or relaxing any more as children were splashing etc. it’s a shame but I think the hotel needs to really allow longer hours for people to enjoy a more relaxed time in swimming pool for longer hours.
PPengguna TetamuLovely room and did everything it needed to. I had difficulty using the card to get into the room because I don’t think it was working (it could’ve also been me being stupid tho haha) but I asked reception and he was happy to come and help. Location isn’t great but they don’t have control over that. Otherwise great room and definitely recommend.
