Pins Platja Apartments

Based on 3star apartment, solo traveller. I selected 1 bedroom apartment & pain upgrade for sea view, well worth £40 week. 2 single beds in bedroom pull out sofa bed in lounge area. Bathroom with bath & shower over, sink & loo, little tired but adequate.Very well equipped kitchen, lots pots pans, cutlery, 2 ring hob, microwave, family sized fridge freezer, provided with washing up liquid scrubbing sponge & micro fibre cloth, 2 teas towels changed with towel change, towel change every 3 days, sheets once per week on Saturdays, apartments are in 2 blocks 1 beach side one over the road, definitely worth checking, in main block not beach side is the reception, restaurant and bar, here is the large pool & good size kiddie pool, beach side has reasonable size jacuzzi and outdoor gym, plenty of sun beds either side. Michaelangelo supermarket on site. Very good bus service, markets most day either good walk or bus it, plenty of restaurants and bars, easyish walk to Salou or Cambrils town lovely tapas bars on marina in Cambria's, Cambrils nice & quiet side as expected Salou little busier, beach & sea amazing, bike hire, near trampolines & kiddie bungee on beach outside apartments. I travelled May & was very quiet until last 2 nights when started to get busier & noise travel though beach side apartments from bar/restaurant attached I will definitely go again as solo traveller felt very safe & relaxed. Wi-Fi for me perfect no issue at all, no English TV Chanel’s, speaking to others in same area, same for some reason no choice for English Chanel’s, TBH not really problem for me. I didn’t use on-site restaurant as I’d planned lazy DIY hols, had I lunch in Cambrils seafood platter .. awesome. Stayed for 2 weeks solo self catering & spent less than €200 that included litre Gin, Cava & red wine & pair of beach shoes( my sketchers flip flops died a death) & of course food, package holiday with Jet2, & would use again.

We had an apartment overlooking the beach which was grear on the 2nd floor but has a lift. Rooms are spacious, fridge freezer good size,microwave toaster,kettle,even a little kitchen kit with cloth,washing up liquid and a sponge along with two teatowels. Air con was free, had to pay for the safe which was 30 pounds which is a bit steep. Towels were changed 3 times, bedding changed once, as for cleaning there was none had to wear socks/ sandals in the second week as feet got so dirty. There was a mop,bucketsweeping brush but I don't spend that amount of money to be moping floors whilst on holiday. The complex us divided by the road, large pool,restaurant, reception an blocks 1 to 4 are on one side of the road, all electronic card access, so not every tom,disk or harry wandering in, block 4 and 6 are on the beach front which was fab. My main critics is the Bath with shower over, this has a fixed glass screen at the shower end,so to have a bath you have to get in the bath to get to the taps, also getting out if the shower/bath is awkward as no grab rail at all, slipped a couple of times . Hopefully a grab rail could he fitted, there were quite a few older people and imagine shiwering could be a problem. The swimming pool is excellent, graded wide steps to get in or thes a 2 rail walkway to get in the pool not steps,was really good. Lifeguard there every day. Had quite a few meals at the Rugby tavern in front of the complex,great meals very friendly, also mollie malones just down the road a few metres again friendly lovely food. Allin all a good holiday.

Although this is quite a big hotel compared to ones I usually stay in, it certainly didn't seem that way as it was split into several different blocks with two over the main road on the beach. The receptionists were friendly and always helpful. The pool area was clean and tidy. My room was a bit dated, but reasonably clean (why do places never clean the cutlery!!) and functional. I think a lot of the furniture was relatively new and comfortable. The bars beneath my room weren't too noisy or open late. Supermarket opposite had everything I needed for the week. Ideally situated to get into both Cambrils and Salou. Would definitely come back again.

We had a sea-view room in 'BLOCK 5'. It was fantastic. As a budget apartment, it was exactly as we expected. The whole complex is a bit tired, as an example, tiles in the bathroom have been replaced with new tiles which do not match, our own room's door skin was in a grim state all peeling and crumbling. We were able to see past these issues because our room was in a great spot. Up on the 3rd floor with an un-interrupted view of the great beach. The main part of the hotel with reception and pool is on the land-side of a busy road along with 4 accommodation blocks and a small restaurant. Barring check in and check out we were not over there at all. On the sea side are the two other blocks which have the prime sea-view rooms. They sit behind several restaurants (reviewed elsewhere) we did not hear any noise after hours from these. There is also a cool jacuzzi pool and basic outdoor gym and some sun loungers on the shore side of the accommodation. There is a small lift to the upper floors however there are steps and ramps up to the accommodation from the road. The beds were pretty comfy, everything worked in the kitchen, our air-con was quiet and very effective. There is a Michaelangelo supermarket straight across the road and provided enough food and drinks for us.

Just back from a weeks family holiday staying in a two bedroom apartment. Block 1, second floor Room 207. Located at the back of the apartments nice and quiet. Has all the basic needs kettle, crockery, cutlery, knives, chopping board, pans, small hob, microwave, fridge freezer. A small pack is provided with a tea towel, sponge, cloth and tiny one use washing up liquid. Bin bags also in the draw. Toilet rolls provided if you ask at reception. Beds are comfortable if you like a firm bed. The bed settee was a little tired with marks on it, my daughter didn't find it comfortable to sleep on. The shower was very hot and powerful for everyone. WiFi worked for us once we connected but I don't go on holiday for that! Clothes airer outside for drying your towels etc (remember to take pegs) Aircon kept the apartment nice and cool the only problem I did have was the Aircon unit was situated on the balcony and blew the hot air where we were sitting making it unbearable during the day so had to turn it off. The pool area is open 10 am - 8 pm, lifeguard on duty. The annoying towel brigade hogged a lot of the sun beds and then left them empty for hours but we still managed to find some whenever we arrived. No safe in rooms but you can hire a small safety deposit box for 30e for the week or 7e per day, given a key for your box so you can access it when reception is open. Lovely golden beach minutes away. Plenty of supermarkets and places to eat. Can walk into Salou or get a bus 2.10e each. We had a lovely holiday and would return perhaps but get a three bed next time.

Been going to Pinz Platja apartments for years but this year we were very disappointed. Apartment was dirty and run down. Towels and bed sheets had stains on them. Shower ran cold every night of our 2 week stay. A tree fell down onto balcony and not one member of staff checked to see if we were ok, balcony was left covered in debris no attempt to clean it up!! We were told our children who have ASD, ADHD and sensory processing disorder that they couldn’t play with a small ball in the pool but other families were!! We were also told they couldn’t wear t shirts in pool and that we had to buy them swim vests which caused our children great distress even when I explained about there disabilities it was not understood. We felt as a family we weee being discriminated against. Life guard turned a blind eye to others wearing t shirts in pool. Totally unacceptable
