The hotel itself isn’t bad, great location , although it could do with a touch of redecoration as the decor is looking a bit dated and tired. We initially booked a river view room, and were placed on the 8th floor, with a wonderful view of the Mekong Delta river. However, our joy was soon short lived, when on the first night of our three night stay we were forced to listen to the very loud music coming from the Beer Garden directly below us. When the boom boom music (we are a couple in our 50’s) still playing after 10pm (we like to go to bed early), I went down to the Reception to enquire how long they’d be playing, and was this a one-off or going to be nightly occurrence. Was told music was played until midnight (they played well after midnight) and that this was EVERY night. Told them it was totally unacceptable, to be fair on the hotel, (they were so apologetic) they showed me three different rooms all of which we could hear the music - until the fourth room was shown (9th Floor/VIP) and we moved our stuff there. Although, the music was still heard, it was somewhat muffled. To be honest, I would have checked out the next day, if my husband hadn’t insisted in staying/avoiding the hassle of relocating. The Staff were lovely & and as I said it wasn’t the hotel’s fault about the loud music, they had intact filed a noise complaint themselves to the authorities, including other hotels nearby who were also affected. The rooms were clean and breakfast sufficient.
