Dreams Madeira Resort Spa & Marina - New Opening

Was slightly apprehensive about our week in this resort considering some of the negative reviews. However have just had the most fantastic week in this resort as a family of four! Beautiful contemporary style, location is stunning, staff were so friendly and helpful and the restaurants/buffet are great! The sea pool is great to swim in and the hike Ponta de Sao Lourenco accessible directly from the hotel. Whale watching trip from the marina; amazing to see a pod of pilot whales! Agree with other posters, there are some minor issues with service and a shame the other restaurants weren’t open (November apparently)but it certainly didn’t impact our holiday experience

This hotel is not fully open yet and they will not communicate this to you. The Spa is not open which is ridiculous for a Spa hotel and if you check on the Hyatt Inclusive Collection app, there is only a buffet and 2 restaurants open in rotation which is not as described on the website. Trying to obtain information from anyone in Hyatt or at the Hotel doesn't work.

We stayed for a week from 09.10 and were one of the first guests. Introductory offer was tempting and we booked taking teething problems into account. We were a bit worried when the first reviews appeared but, honestly, you do not need to worry it is already solid 4 star all inclusive hotel. Once completed it will be truly magnificent 5 star one. It is the people working there that made our stay excellent. At least enough to forget the spa and water circuit was not opened yet (will be ready Feb 2025). Very good athmosphere, the staff are really Nice and friendly Oishii Restaurant was the best experience, food was amazing and the staff very organized. Many thanks for Romeu for hospitality. Overall, amazing experiente to repeat Again! Oishii restaurant continue the excelent job and hospitality.

Ignore negative reviews. This place is almost perfect. Right away I want to stress that the staff are so amazing. Every single employee was cheery, and went out of their way to help with everything. The location is amazing, the views gorgeous and the food fantastic. Even if only 3/5 of the restaurants are open, frankly the buffet alone is of such a high quality and offers so many different but equally excellent options you could opt to eat there each day and have a great time. We're here in October and the place haz a gentle buzz about it without every feeling overcrowded. Never stayed at a dreams resort before but this experience has been so good we will look out for them in the future.

The Hyatt Dreams Madeira is an exquisite hotel and will only become even better as they iron out the kinks after nearly opening, SO if you’re looking at an exceptional deal at time of writing this review bear in mind these circumstances and your expectations. In other words don’t consider this as the finished article especially when the price is way below what it should be, it is what it is and that is exceptional good considering it’s about 75% of what it will be. However, if you really want 100% version you do need to book elsewhere and accept the much higher rate, Dreams Madeira is certainly value for money for the rates being offered right now. It’s an amazing and unique location, built as a village on a hillside with a beautiful marina T the bottom and a gorgeous sea-pool with waves lapping the sides as you swim. Everything is brand new of course, sun loungers, bedrooms, restaurants, staff, you name it. So expect some kinks, that’s why you’ve got such a good deal after all. Maybe not enough robes yet, not enough coffee machines for every room, not enough small tables by the pool loungers, so if these smaller issues upset you then book somewhere else to save your sanity, if they don’t bother you so much then this is a deal worth taking. I’d say the 2 biggest missing items from the finished article are; the spa is not yet open, and 3 out of the 5 restaurants are open. So if you come to hotel resorts for massage treatments, pedicures, manicures and hair salons then don’t book here yet, it’s not for you until later into 2025. Likewise, if 3 restaurants aren’t enough (the excellent buffet for breakfasts and dinners, and the Asian and the Grill) then wait into 2025 or you’ll be disappointed. But at current rates you’re really not being charged for a full spa, 5 restaurant resort so consider your expectations for the deal. One thing that can’t be denied is the quality of the staff and their service. They are amazing, welcoming, friendly, and trying to give you the best expense that they can from a newly opened, still finding its feet, high end resort. Perhaps we have expected a slightly smoother opening and attention to the smaller details from a world wide experience group like Hyatt. Maybe far better labelling of the buffet foods (yes we can see what most of it is but what the soup is would be helpful), maybe ensuring there’s a simple borne opener in each room for the mini bar water bottles, etc. it’s not going to spoil anyone’s holiday in the outstanding location but a few small fixes help oil the wheels. Bottom line, this place will only get better and will only get more expensive as it should do for its unique offering. We grabbed it now and have loved the experience, well worth the reduced price deal and then some. Just weigh up your own expectations before you book, 2025 will be a different 100% offering, in the meantime I’ll vouch that 75% is an outstanding offering and puts Hyatt Dreams resorts well and truly on our future radar.

I’m writing this for people reading reviews with an imminent booking who might be freaking out reading other reviews: if you are a person who can not sweat the small stuff, you will love this resort! The resort is beautiful. Here’s what’s wonderful about it: The Food — yep, at time of writing there are “only” two a la carte restaurants open and the buffet. So guess what — you won’t starve!! And unless you’re a gourmet chef you’ll eat better here than you have for a while! The food has been wonderful thus far, well prepared, delicious and served with a smile. (The sushi and ‘potato and beef balls’ at the main pool bar/cafe in particular are delicious!) The drinks: plentiful, cold, properly prepared, top level branded spirits. House wines excellent! Multi-lingual staff. The Gym — great selection of free weights, cycles, leg machines, etc. Good selection of classes by the main pool. Instructors that actually know what they’re doing! Cracking view of the ocean as it’s on an upper level. Everything is pristine, clean, and new! The Sea Pool — sea water pool let’s you swim in the ocean and protects you from being washed out to sea — bonus yes? Cafe and drinks right there. The Rooms — true, we don’t have robes, or a bottle opener (yet! we’re optimists :-) ), or a coffee machine. But we do have a kettle, instant coffee, a little mini bar stocked daily with water soft drinks and beer, excellent toiletries in big bottles with pumps (bonus points for the hair conditioner!), lush clean fluffy towels, a HUGE comfortable bed with lots of pillows, exceptional black out curtains and a STUNNING view. The Pools — lots of loungers, clean and plentiful towels, no annoying people reserving sunbeds at 5am, lovely cocktails, delicious poolside food, an adult pool which is more secluded and private. We’ve got sunshine. Bliss. The Staff — bending over backwards being friendly and smiling and positive and doing their absolute best. Literally ALL of them doing their utmost and no doubt taking abuse from people with zero compassion or understanding of a soft opening at a new hotel.

This hotel is not ready. Some restaurants are closed. In the open restaurants during 2 evenings we had to wait for nearly an hour to get served. After the main course another hour without dessert: we just left. First no coffee machine in the room, which was later after complaining brought up, but without the coffee pods! Last eveing: beds not made, no towels. Spent a lot of time complaing at the reception. Fortunately the staff is very friendly and tries to set things right with a smile. But every day there is something going wrong. This is the opposite of a care-free holiday.Dreams Madeira is more like Nightmare Madeira.

Pas pret pour accueillir les clients sur le mois d'octobre impossible de manger le midi en moins de 2h30 sauf le dernier jour nous avons même pas eu droit a nos plats on nous a oublié et de plus le plat commandé sur la carte n'était plus disponible .le personnel est très agréable mais je pense pas formé à la restauration. Le point positif la restauration du soir très bien malgré que nous avons réservé un restaurant sushis et qu'on nous a servi de la restauration portugaise sans aucunes explications. nous avons réclamé des serviettes dans notre chambre quasiment tous les jours Porte serviette cassé mais pas remplacé plus de coussin sur la lit de la fille plus de capsules a café et des fourmis heureusement disparu en fin de séjour. En clair un complexe en rodage mais quand on réserve dans un 5 étoiles...... Au niveau des bars ils sont très pro et super sympa.
