Hotel was in a fantastic location, clean, modern and staff were extremely friendly. What sadly let it down was the awful mattress in the room. It was springy, lumpy, noisy and appeared to be sinking. Was extremely uncomfortable and me and my partner found it very difficult to sleep. Woke up with aches and stiffness every morning. The cooked breakfast also wasn’t great, although plenty of choice on the continental option. Such a shame for the bad experiences we had as the hotel was otherwise pleasant.

The hotel is undergoing extension and refurbishment. We stayed in a newly refurbished executive room with a link to an adjacent room for family use. The facilities were excellent. The superking bed was very comfortable and would have easily converted to twin beds if required. Modern bedside lamps incorporating separate directional reading lamps created the least disturbance for a partner who required an early night. The incorporation of a continental plug socket was a useful addition for guests en route to or from the continent. We would add an extra armchair and small round table for convenience. We arrived early on the day of our stay. Chloe on reception was particularly helpful in guiding us to a very good restaurant for lunch within 10-15 minutes walk. The hotel provided an excellent breakfast menu with a good range of alternatives. All hot food was cooked to order and was presented on hot plates/bowls. Aiden was very helpful in arranging the booking and in giving us an introduction into how the hotel will look and feel once all the work is completed, including a peek at the suite and some of the other bedrooms. I am pleased to say we noticed no disturbance from contractors. On a future visit to Canterbury we would be very pleased to stay here again.

The staff were so friendly, from the desk staff to the bar staff to the waitress and the cleaners! We were there with family (all adult including one student!) The cocktails the first evening were delicious and we had a cosy, comfortable space all to ourselves. The rooms were excellent.. so kind and thoughtful of the staff to place us so near eachother too. The huge bed was so comfortable, we slept like logs! Plenty of lovely pillows and cushions everywhere! Amazing shower!! It gave me the best back massage ever! The breakfast was very nice too and supplying gluten and dairy-free food was no problem. Fortunately we were able to park in the car park as it was a Monday and were able to leave it there until 2pm on the day we checked out. The situation is so perfect, right in the middle of the city but so quiet! Thanks for a brilliant stay! We'll be back!

returned for a third time to this lovely hotel. last visit was a few years ago. it’s in a great location in walking distance to the city centre. the hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the decor is traditional. When we arrived we were greeted by Bogdan who is extremely helpful and goes the extra mile. we were able to park in the car park even before check in so we could go out to have lunch which was really helpful. our room was cosy and very clean. we made use of the pool which adds an extra something special to this hotel. it was a bit chilly in the pool but it was november! we had treatments in the spa facility . really relaxing massages by the two ladies who work there. had a great night sleep. the beds are comfy. nice bathroom and the shower was good. we had breakfast and could choose full english and continental as it’s a buffet style breakfast . hopefully will return here as it really is a great place to stay and it’s good value for money too. a hidden gem!
