I needed a place to stay after Bruce Springsteen show in Cardiff and naturally every hotel in the city raised their prices to ridiculous amounts. Austin Guest House was no exception but Austin Guest House was the only place I could afford. However I was disgusted to pay £255 for a dirty mouldy single basement room with no window, no shower, and no toilet, it was NOT worth the money. It's 30 seconds away from the stadium which is the only good thing about it and maybe the other rooms are nice but mine was disgusting. The room absolutely reeked of damp and **** and pee. I don't think it had been cleaned since the last person stayed there. As a solo female traveller I felt very unsafe that the guesthouse is completely unstaffed. There is nobody working onsite to check you in or deal with concerns, there is no security for any of the rooms. And with no working lock in the shared bathroom, and flimsy locks on the bedroom doors I felt extremely unsafe. Speaking of the shared bathroom - shower is covered in black mould and there was no toilet paper for a toilet to be shared by rooms on the ground and basement floors. Walls are paper thin, you can hear everyone snoring, shouting, arguing, puking all night long. I know that hotels raise their price during event days at the stadium and you might feel like this is your only option, but maybe see if you can sleep in the train station, it would be preferable and likely safer than this

Well situated hotel very close to St David's Shopping Mall, convenient for restaurants, city centre sights and buses to The Bay and Penarth Our room was clean but a little tired with some curtain hooks in need of attention and furniture a bit worse for wear...bed very comfortable but rather high. Good selection at breakfast Reception staff friendly and efficient Need to know... ...Only bath sheets provided but hand towels available on request ...Room cleaning/bed making only available on request

Super friendly and helpful reception staff. Very accommodation and happy to answer all our questions. Hotel was super clean and modern and felt safe as needed to use room door card to enter hotel, lifts and corridor doors. Only a 5 minute walk to closest train station and 2 minutes from closest car park. Would recommend.

Wasn't great mostly due to the fact that you had Taxi drivers outside beeping horns all hours of the night. People fighting and shouting outside the hotel. As well as the Fire alarm going off at about 10:40pm. I had to check out by 04:50 Am to catch a train and I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30am This hotel is however right next to Cardiff Central Station so perfect for Travelling by train. Which is why I booked here. After explaining my stay to reception I asked for a bottle of water for my travels and it was given to me complimentary which I really appreciated. The hotel Staff were polite and welcoming, however and the room was quite clean. TV didn't work however which is a shame.

Room is very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, room is spacious (much bigger than it looks in the photos), bed is very comfortable (I have sciatica so this is a must, woke up in the morning with no pain), unexpectedly quiet as my room is in the front, great wifi, smoking area at the front much appreciated! I really liked the look of the rooms from the photos as it made me think of star trek and I was not disappointed 😆 (The blanket on the bed is mine 😆) Complete bargain, I'm definitely coming back!

I just stayed here with my son, my friend and her daughter and we had such a pleasant stay. The Caerphilly Suite was spotless and each bedroom was cosy and spacious. I'm not sure how the sofa bed was supposed to work but it didn't matter to us, we were happy to just use the beds which are SO comfortable! The suite was equipped with a fridge, a microwave, plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses, a selection of teas and snacks and a complimentary fresh milk in the fridge! The bathroom was sparkling with lovely clean towels, toiletries to use and despite being in the centre of Cardiff, not a single noise bothered us from outside all night - we all slept very soundly. Even the room temperature seemed to be perfectly planned - none of us were ever too hot or too cold!! Oh and last but not least, the WiFi works brilliantly! Steve was very friendly and helpful, especially as we had some miscommunication with our booking. I would not hesitate in recommending Inn Cardiff and I will most definitely stay here again. It's the perfect location - a stone's throw from Bute and the centre. Thank you for an excellent stay!
