The Fleece at Ruleholme

We stayed with friends May 24. The whole experience was first class from start to finish - every member of staff were pleasant and nothing was a bother. - rooms were extremely comfortable , bathroom fabulous and food was delicious. We cannot wait to return it was outstanding.

We've stayed here several times now. It's a beautiful hotel with great service. It never fails to delight us each time we stay.

Our first visit to the Fleece and we were not disappointed! Everything about the hotel was wonderful. Furnishings in the common areas were beautiful, contemporary and comfortable. We can just imagine this place in the winter with the fires on!! Our bedroom was first class as well, lovely bathroom and shower, comfortable bed and lots of goodies thrown in! The food in the restaurants was also of a very high standard and a good choice. Staff were friendly, efficient and professional. We will have to return soon!🤗

Stayed here for one night on way back from a holiday in Scotland. The room was lovely and very spacious and comfortable, as was the rest of the hotel. We had booked dinner in the restaurant and whilst the food was amazing the service was abysmal. We were there for over 2 hours and only had 2 courses! There were only 6 people in the restaurant so the chef should have been able to cope. We wouldn’t want to go there if it was busy. We did mention our experience on checkout and the receptionist said that she would let them know of our experience.

A lovely hotel set in wonderful surroundings. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely visit again

Arrived for Sunday lunch, Four covers, met and greeted, showed to table in a professional manner. We got the menus and ordered drinks, so far, so good! Two Feta, Cous Cous and beetroot salads, One Asparagus Soup and One Fishcake, My Soup was very nice, well seasoned but could have done with being passed, stringy bits of asparagus present! Endive leaves that garnished the Beetroot were applied without dressing and The fish cakes got lost amongst sloppy pea purée! The four mains were very good, I opted for the slice of each meat, thought they were carved fairly thinly! Plenty selection of Potato and Vegetables, good Yorkie and proper Jus! No bisto here! We managed dessert, again very good my friends Panna cotta had just enough wobble! Seat in the lounge and coffee. We left and let the girls pay! What followed was utter confusion! We got the wrong bill, should have paid it and left as it was only £30! We didn’t, then the till roll ran out, took ages to find a new one, then the confusion of the deposit being paid against the bill!! Took 45 mins to sort it out!! One Rosette, in my view deserves it, wouldn’t take much to push it to two! Just some attention to detail chef? Lovely venue and would return!

It's the first time I've tried the new lunch menu, and the flavours were amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed the fish finger sandwich, home-made crispy fish goujons on a brioche bagel with a lovely side salad. Great service from Struan. Great location for a business lunch; lovely environment and enough space to talk in the library area. Highly recommend

Having passed this place several times per week, since it was built a couple of years ago, it was about time we chose to try the place. What better way than to enjoy a Sunday dinner. Having looked on the website and a peek at the menu, we made the booking for today. The property itself is absolutely stunning, both inside and outside. Hats off to the designers and the interior decorators you have done a tremendous job. Upon arrival at the restaurant we were quickly seated at our table by the windows in the front, delighted with the table and the chairs were incredibly comfortable for dining. Drinks were ordered and delivered quickly, as was the food order placed. The starters were delicious, three parfaits and one soup. Main courses were two roast beef and two lamb dinners, again absolutely delicious and plentiful. No space for puddings so we finished with coffee. All the staff we encountered were polite and professional. My only criticism would be when I went to pay the bill, the £40 deposit I paid online when booking hadn’t initially been taken off the bill, it was only when I noticed and mentioned before this was done. Lucky I checked and just hope no-one else has just paid without looking. It was soon corrected without being a fuss. We absolutely plan to return here again and only wonder what the rooms and accommodation would be like too. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a one night stay to celebrate our parents anniversary. Beautiful refurbishment of the hotel and everything first class and tastefully done. Food lovely but the standout factor was the staff and in particular the lady on reception who went above and beyond to make our stay special. Thankyou!!
