Bard's Inn

I was part of a large group that comes to Cedar City fo the Shakespeare Festival every summer. We typically stayed at another B &B, which was no longer available. The pics and reviews of the Inn were good so we booked our trip months in advance. I have to say I was really disappointed when we arrived. The front of the property was in sad shape, with an overgrown lawn and poorly tended flowerbeds. It was far from welcoming and not at all like the photos online. One of our group stayed in the upstairs unit. The patio was a mess with an old, really disgusting couch on it that looked like something out of a frat house. The bathtub was really dirty and didn’t drain well. My room was fine, but had so much furniture that there was no place to put suitcases. Other rooms were just weird and also full of too much decor. There was no room service. No beds got made and no trash got emptied...we had to ask for toilet paper and one room had dirty sheets on the bed. Breakfast was bad and there was often not enough food for all of our group to eat at one time. Seriously, I had to finally throw out rotten bananas and grapes that were inedible but continued to show up on the serving tray each day. The menu was the same most of the days we were there. The pictures are really misleading! People, please do your homework before you stay here. We were told that the owners were on vacation at the time of our stay...if that is the case, they need to hire people to maintain the grounds and provide quality daily service.
