Excellent quality food, friendly staff, comfy room overlooking chagford and generally a lovely relaxing couple days away for our anniversary. Car park a 2 minute walk away which you can pay for by app so can extend parking from hotel if needed. Gorgeous walk up to Melden hill, outskirts of chagford. Plenty of amenities in village just don’t take the sat nav road in!! Very narrow track!!

We’ve just returned from a weekend at The Three Crowns in Chagford to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. This beautiful pub isn’t far from us, and we’ve visited before. It always has a lovely atmosphere, so we decided to treat ourselves, stay over, and enjoy some walks in the area. Well, what a weekend we had—it was absolutely perfect! The whole experience was exceptional. The food was fantastic, paired with some delightful wines, and the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. They truly went above and beyond, even arranging flowers for my husband to surprise me with—a thoughtful touch that meant so much. If we could give it 11 out of 10, we absolutely would. We had the best time, and we can’t wait to visit again! Thank you!

Lovely stay here for three nights. Staff all willing, very friendly but professional and helpful and food was good too (pea risotto was oddly more of a pea purée and needed more rice so a little mark down here but other dishes tasty and well prepared). We had a Thai curry, steak and ale pie and the fish platter. All were good. Wines were good too but the list could be expanded a little with more choice we felt. Lovely ambience in the bar with a welcoming fire and a good vibe with locals and guests chatting. Room clean and comfortable and the parking space was welcomed. Chagford is a bit of an upmarket gentrified little place in this area which is largely unspoilt and very beautifully rural. Lots of little individual shops. Would recommend and thank you all for a very relaxing break.

We have stayed a few times at the Three Crowns and every time we have stayed the experience has been excellent! The food , rooms , the bar area all great and the staff are very good . We will always return and it is so relaxing away from the rat race . The Hays.

We have just returned from a dinner, bed & breakfast break at the Three Crowns. We were a group of 12 and had been to the Three Crowns before and decided we’d return for our Christmas treat this year. There were a few issues during the booking process, not smooth at all! but our actual stay was lovely. Adam looked after us throughout and could not have been more helpful. He made sure all was in order and that we were all happy. He had a good sense of humour too! The rooms were spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, with comfy beds. Great food and service in the restaurant - the atmosphere was warm and festive. The Three Crowns is set in the middle of the quaint village of Chagford, surrounded by lovely walks. It has its own small car park and there’s a public car park just a few minutes’ walk away. Would recommend staying here.

Poor reception from some male worker. Evening meal took nearly one and half meals, young lad admitted he had not put original order in to the kitchen. Stayed in upstairs room which was opposite the kitchen extractor fan which when started up for breakfast was absolutely deafening. Had to wait 45 minutes for breakfast. Same male worker offered no apology. Never again.

Beautiful building both inside and out. Service perfect and attentive, all staff friendly and welcoming. Now on to the best bit! We had soup for starters and the trio of meat roast dinners. The food was excellent, roast potatoes cooked to perfection and meat so tender. I can’t wait to eat here again!

Delicious lunch here yesterday. Husband had the fish platter and I had the mezze platter. Both of us were tempted to have chips which were also excellent. This is such a lovely inn. Staff are very friendly and efficient too. We'll look forward to lunching here again next year.

We have stayed here several times and had several different rooms - we have never been disappointed. The rooms have always been spotless and comfortable and the food good. The Atrium restaurant is very pleasant … It’s a central location and Chagford is an interesting place to stay …. We like to pay extra for a room that includes parking, but it’s only a 5 minute walk to the public car park . We’ve already booked our next stay
