The hotel staff are really friendly. I’m a frequent visitor and they always remember my normal order and my preferred room. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are a very good standard and well maintained considering it’s an older hotel. I recommend this hotel very highly!

We stayed here whilst attending a wedding. We stay in Travelodges quite a bit and have always found them good value and clean. Chelmsford is a whole different story! The room is extremely hot, with no Aircon. My make up and chocolates were melting! We didn't actually get dressed for the wedding until 10 minutes before we were due to leave - the heat would have made it even more unbearable. The room itself was tired and grubby - honestly we've seen better homeless hostels. Also, we had paid for early check in and obviously the rooms were still being cleaned but we didn't expect dirty plates, bags of rubbish and dirty linen to be stacked up right outside our door. For the price we paid it was shockingly bad - £125 for a night! I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay at Chelmsford Travelodge. The hotel is very welcoming and friendly, the staff are nice and polite and are extremely helpful. The bar is a plus and a nice break from the kids. We will definitely be returning soon !

Very nice stay as usual. I come once a year for work and the staff are always very friendly. The hotel is very well priced and is in a very convenient location. There is a bar on site which is a huge plus and the breakfast is quite nice. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and this is by far one of the best.

room had an unfreshed musty smell even though the windows was open. Also to note there was hair left in the bath's plug hole, which was quite disgusting. However, the young receptionist who checked me in was extremely helpful and polite otherwise my overall score for staying here would have been a lot lower. breakfast was ok and average for a budget stay.

The hotel is fine if you just need to sleep there and will overlook the tired look of everything from decor to appliances, room furniture and bathroom functionality. Bed was lovely and clean, duvet soft, but everything else was big disappointment. Didn’t attempt to use the kettle as it looked rather unappealing, bathroom left me feeling more dirty than clean. Although it was cleaned, it doesn’t give the impressions. Toilet could be barely flushed. Staff made up for it as they were all lovely - Felippe at reception and everyone from breakfast service were really great.
