Campanile Cherbourg-Laglacerie

You expect service as a norm. On this stay however the manager went the extra mile in helping me .

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2023 in room 003. This is a pretty typical older design Campanile Hotel with updated rooms which were pretty much what I was expecting but a little larger as I was in a disabled room which seemed a little bigger than the standard room size but I could be wrong. The rooms are pretty basic with a big comfortable bed, desk and chair, an open closet with some shelves and hanging space and a wall mounted TV. The bathroom being in a disabled room had a big open shower with a curtain and looked like it had also been recently renovated. They had a kettle on a tray but unfortunately it takes up some valuable space on the desk and because of the way it is wired to the socket can’t be moved off the desk. While I intended to use this as a base to explore the area a problem with my car meant I really couldn’t leave the hotel on the Sunday I stayed there as my car was at the local Peugeot dealership. Having said that there was plenty of free parking but the location really makes a car a necessity when staying here. The hotel staff were so helpful when I was “stuck” at the hotel all day on the Sunday and most of the day on Monday until my car was fixed. While the restaurant was open on Sunday’s but they let me use the microwave to heat a meal I bought at the local supermarket which was much appreciated. While my stay didn’t go as planned the staff made my stay the best it could be.

I sent a message when i booked that I have a Service Dog and prefer ground floor. Instead I had to climb 2 flights of stairs, room was in the attic with a west-facing window that didn't open had been heated all day, so hot & stuffy, no fan. Worst room I've ever paid for.

Generally run down and grubby. We were given 2 g/f disability rooms! Breakfast they had no eggs even though egg boiler and bowl was laid out? Worst Camponile I have stayed at! Web photos deceiving

Disappointed to find the restaurant was closed, no indication on their website that this was so. Room very clean but basic, no kettle in the room had to go and ask for one. Hotel very isolated no shop’s or restaurant within walking distance. Good for ferry.

I have stayed here many times with my wife and this time also with my daughter and son-in-law. On check in the first rooms offered were not suitable as, for mobility reasons, I had requested ground floor rooms. Within minutes the rooms were changed and we were given two ground floor rooms facing the front so we could also keep an eye on the car. These rooms had been updated since the last time we were there; they were clean and comfortable and the new shower was excellent. Wonderful value as well. Overall a great last night to a week long holiday touring the north of France.

We have stayed here for years when in Cherbourg as it is handy for both shopping and the ferry and the rooms are basic but comfortable and the restaurant food tasty and good value. This August we stayed and were very dissappointed, the standard in the restaurant had dropped significantly, more than would be expected due to Covid. There was no evening buffet and the menu was very limited, not the standard Campanile good menu, very little choice and the food must have been pre prepared as it was served within 2-3 minutes after ordering. The Parmentier du Canard was tasteless and textureless. The room was very musty but still clean and comfortable. Very disappointed that after so many years staying here we will have to move on.

old hotel no elevator had to carry heavy luggage in metal outside stairs under rain. No A|C. only 1 chair for 2 people. strong sewer odor in bathroom. Friendly gentlemen at the desk.

Établissement mal situé, parking digne d'une station de ski. Chambre très très mal isolée quand le voisin éternue vous lui répondez. Installation électrique montée à l'envers (bouton du volet par exemple). Agencement mal fait, et vétusté de l'hôtel avérée.. Que dire du petit déjeuner avec des aliments de piètre qualité (fromages individuels sous vide, yaourts qui ont du être sortis et rangés à chaque occasion,..)
