Chloraka Terrace Apartments

We had a villa, next to reception, which was fine, just up the steps to the pool, great view and en-suite to both bedrooms. However there was a few things that were a bit irritating! Firstly, and of most concern, no smoke alarms (the base of one was located directly above the oven!) a ragtag collection of crockery, cutlery and cookware (only one eggcup and two saucepans, no frying pan!) no toaster or microwave, no shelves or grillpan in the oven and the extractor didn’t work. There was also no washingup bowl or plug for the sink. Upstairs the view from the balcony off the main bedroom was great, and the en-suite was spacious. The second bedroom only had a small window and a tiny en-suite, but it was OK. Neither room had any coat hangers though! Overall it’s a nice place to stay but needs a bit of tlc and some attention to detail. Parking is plentiful, you’ll best hire a car, but there were no English speaking channels on the TV and the WiFi was patchy!

Cleanliness is not the strong point of this apartment. Unpleasant smell in the wardrobe. But overall it's a cheap and pleasant place for a few days on Cyprus in a peaceful neighbourhood with a nice view.

We came to Cyprus for my neices wedding. Where do I start......we arrived late on 8th April 2023, so it was dark and could not really see anything. The property building looked okay! There was no one at reception, but we had a phone number to call. Mario (the manager) was very prompt, and very helpful. We were all very hungry so just put our luggage in the apartment and headed out for food. When we got back my husband and daughter went to look at the pool. Me and my son went in to the apartment. I had a look around downstairs. It looked very scruffy , the curtains look yellow as if people had been smoking in there for years. The large mirror was dirty too....the was only the start....I went upstairs to find that the mattress( which had no protector on it) was very old, with the springs poking out. There was dirty/dust down the sides of the bedside cabinets and behind the bed, the extractor fan in the ensure was full of dusts and cobwebs. The shower had seen better days old rusty and grubby. In the other bedroom the sheets were moldy. My daughter found a bug in her bed! There wasn't even any towel to shower either as you had to buy them at 4 €4 each. It was just terrible. We had to sleep there for the night....with the definite thought of leaving the next day...I can say I had 3 hours sleep in total. I emailed the property and spoke to a Marinea. She completely disregarded my whole email which went back and forth for sometime. Only worrying about ******* not paying the property yet! In which we booked months before I may add. Anyway to cut a long story short. We contacted ******* , they gave us a full refund. We know that the property was cheap, even so, it should be clean. I do not RECOMMEND!! My husband and daughter had told me in the morning that the pool had no water in it!!

I chose this holiday apartment based on the photos and the affordable price tag. 330€ for one week, double bed, living room with balcony (ocean view - but a little obstructed and kinda far away) kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. All in all I would say 30m2 including balcony. It's kinda basic though and you could see that it hasn't been renovated for a while. The bathroom is not very inviting with discoloration and signs of age (brown spots on the shower insulation, etc.) and the bed linens / blankets really the most basic ones there are. But it was the off-season and lots of hotels were closed so I would say that I made an okay choice but I probably wouldn't stay there again.
