The Ibis Christchurch has a cute boutique feel to it. Security is great as the front door locks at 10 pm and you use your room key to get in. My room had a fridge, kettle, walled toiletries, and a/c (hurray!). For some reason I got an accessible room on different floors on both hotel stays. The bathroom is huge, but I can’t see a wheelchair in the bedroom section as it was a bit tight near the bed. The bed was comfortable & the room was clean. Breakfast was the usual fare of hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, baked goods, cereal, fruits & juices. I love the coffee machine. Our tour had dinner at the hotel that consisted of fruit salad, minestrone soup, chicken in mushroom sauce, baked ziti, and veggies which were decent. I am not sure if the restaurant is usually open for dinner and what their menu consist of. The staff during breakfast was friendly and attentive. Location of the hotel is perfect as it is near everything, especially Riverside Market. There is a mini mart & souvenir shop next door, as well as a little metro supermarket 5 minutes away on Lichfield Street.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests).
But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier.
Mr. Sui Beng Teh, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review!
He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry.
Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like ****** and being forgetful on our own properties.

The hotel is in a great location, but it is a big hotel. The staff are very pleasant and they make it feel more personal. It is close to shops, restaurants / cafes, the tram and most of what Christchurch city has to offer. We booked direct with the hotel, a good price for the location, but our studio room had a view of a carpark and other room windows. The room was big enough but an extra chair would have been better. We did not like the uncomfortable pillows and the extremely heavy bed cover we had to remove. We don’t normally ask for clean towels each day, but had to with no where to hang to dry sufficiently and no electric towel hanger like we have had in most other hotels we’ve stayed in NZ. Overall a pleasant stay and no problem with valet parking.

I stayed at this hotel again principally because it is an Accor property in the CBD (as I am an ALL Platinum) - but that is really about it. The hotel is passable for what one expects of a Novotel, but it is getting quite dated and the carpet stains in the room are too pointed a reminder of the hotel's age. The bed is soft and the generous number of pillows and cushions make for a very comfy night in. While it is in the CBD, it is a fair walk from most places of note in the city. Since my previous visit, the reception staff have improved in service and manner. I was disappointed that as I left a shirt in my room's cupboard, I had to call a few times to follow up on its search as the promised return call did not come until I called again (the shirt was never found). What is most disappointing is the restaurant. While the quality of the food is acceptable, it is quite overpriced for Christchurch and the restaurant's setting. Despite only having a handful of tables for dinner, I had to approach the wait staff when I wanted a table, to order, get a drink, or receive the check. Similarly, the bar staff are not as proactive as one may expect to come to tables and take drink orders, even when one is the only patron at the bar. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. On one of the mornings I even had to set my own table. Empty juice dispensers are not refilled for quite some time; the only eggs served are scrambled, the only non-meat ”hot” offering are potatoes and beans. Perhaps there is is a concern that some patrons are allergic to tomatoes, green leaves, salad, vegetables, and mushrooms? After two nights I moved to another hotel in Christchurch and am much happier.

大廳往上走鋪設了復古的地毯，感覺走進了千百年前的基督城。樓上樓下的格局卻也很隔音，床上也貼心地放了巧克力，mini bar 裏雖然部分食品收費但也有很多免費的茶和咖啡. 廚房整體風格大氣，驚喜的是還配了垃圾處理器。位置很好，去每個地方都很方便。前台泊車效率超高，還幫我們把大包小包的行李提到房間，我們可以安心逛街。大愛這家歷史悠久的酒店，下次一定會再來。

Stayed four nights at this hotel which has a great location and within walking distance to most attractions and restaurants. Check in was good and paid parking plentiful. Unfortunately, the lift was not working on our arrival so we had to leave our luggage in our car and walk up to the third floor. The hotel is dated and grubby as was our room. There was a trolley of dirty towels and linen left in the hallway for over 24 hours during our visit, this is unacceptable! The bed was comfortable but the bathroom towels were very thin. One day we returned to our room at 4.00pm and the room was not made up. I understand the vacated rooms are made up first but after a full day of sightseeing, it would be good to return to a tidied room. I have stayed at various Quest hotels in Australia as I am a member but this is by far the worst. As such, I could not recommend this hotel to other travellers.

My room was not cleaned up despite me putting up a door notice for housekeeping for the day. When I returned to my room in the evening, I was told to my surprise that my booking did not include housekeeping. The website of Breakfree at Cashel mentioned housekeeping is available. I was not informed that my booking omitted this service. Furthermore, I was told to collect new towels by myself at the counter. I just don't feel the hotel is not up to the mark in this aspect.
Other things I am not quite happy about is that the room space is too small for easy packing and unpacking of my luggage but I suppose I get what I paid for, which is ok.
I have decided to move to other hotel for the rest of my journey in Christchurch for the above reasons

PPengguna TetamuExcellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. PPengguna TetamuDATE OF TRAVEL: July 2023 Stayed here for 10 days on a business trip. Room and bathroom was great but the beds are awful. They are not attached to a bed head and are an ensemble base only so they move around. I had a better sleep in a motel in Timaru, which is a shame because working 10 hour days, staying in a 5* hotel, one would think you'd sleep like a baby. Fortunately the shower's high pressure and the bath were great, Apart from that, the hotel grounds is beautiful with ample parking. My room had a veranda which I liked to sit on and watch the traffic go by. I had requested a microwave so as to meal prep due to my diabetes and this was in there prior to check in which was great. Hotel is just around the corner from a heap of restaurants and Westfield Ricccarton and right next to Hagley Park which was great for a morning walk. In room dining was fine, nothing special. I tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Saturday and it was lacklastre. Didn't end up going back. Plenty of cafes around anyway. All up, I rate my stay there 4*. The facilities were great, the requests were met eagerly and the bathroom was fantastic. The room itself is really well appointed but the bed is awful which detracts a star. I'd stay there again with my wife though, maybe bring some *****s to attach to the bed legs to stop them from moving around though!

PPengguna TetamuThe V motel is conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping mall and grocery store and a 15-minute drive to the airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is large, clean and very well-equipped. It has all the things that a business traveller needs, except for an iron and ironing board. The bed is comfortable and the towels and linings are clean. The Sony TV is large with Youtube and Netflix. It even provides some cereals and bananas, milk and yogurt for breakfast or snacks. The internet is fast and instructions, passwords are clear and easy to follow. Lastly, the price is fair and very affordable. I highly recommend this motel and would come back to it the next time.

Impressed by their willingness to change our room (my wife wanted a very quiet unit). An exceptionally clean unit particularly the bathroom. We chose the motel for its location close to Riccarton Mall but not too close to the nosiest of the main roads

TTrish BA big Thank you to Sue and David for an excellent comfortable 3 night stay at Rosewood Court. Very friendly hosts and everything was spotless and very comfortable. We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. Sue helped us use the onsite laundry facilities. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and loved the spa bath at the end of the day sightseeing. Nearby shops and takeaways very good too. Thank you again Best Wishes Trish & Karen

SSukyWe stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests).
But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier.
Mr. Sui Beng Teh, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review!
He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry.
Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like ****** and being forgetful on our own properties.

PPengguna TetamuRoom was very comfortable and clean. good facilities. TV was amazing. Lots to choose from on it. Microwave for cooking supplied. Fridge also. Washing facilities if required and all Free! Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

PPengguna TetamuNot too impressed, got put in the wrong room when I specifically booked the room for the balcony. The guy at the front was new which I understand but no one did anything to help. Walls are thin as anything could hear everyone’s conversation and 5 different people snore. Will never be back.

BBOON TECKMy room was not cleaned up despite me putting up a door notice for housekeeping for the day. When I returned to my room in the evening, I was told to my surprise that my booking did not include housekeeping. The website of Breakfree at Cashel mentioned housekeeping is available. I was not informed that my booking omitted this service. Furthermore, I was told to collect new towels by myself at the counter. I just don't feel the hotel is not up to the mark in this aspect.
Other things I am not quite happy about is that the room space is too small for easy packing and unpacking of my luggage but I suppose I get what I paid for, which is ok.
I have decided to move to other hotel for the rest of my journey in Christchurch for the above reasons
