Everything about Lylo Christchurch has been good except there is no storage room to keep your luggage, however locker is there to rent with $2 per hour. Room is really clean and neat, comfy, everything just perfect (except the walking distance to airport need around 15 mins and is pretty straightforward right from behind the hostel) . Overall all has been a good experience, thanks Lylo!

It's my last stop before I fly back home for good after a 2 weeks holiday in NZ. It's a total disaster experience as the lady restaurant manager (working on 23 May 2023, 9pm), was plain rude when I approached her politely wanting to ask her whether the restaurant was still operating since it was late already. She was then holding a tray of empty cups, gave me a stare, and whispered an insincere 'sorry' with a frustrated facial and dashed right past me. Mind you, there was only 1 table of 2 guests in the entire restaurant. Not wanting to spoil our mood further, I have decided to walk away calmly, be the bigger self, and head to the bar instead. Honestly, it was totally not the busiest day since it's a Tuesday evening, the bartender was so impatient in trying to wait for us to make our orders (we are only ordering 2 drinks my dear), he wasn't helpful in trying to provide alternative (since one of the drinks we wanted is OOS) or wait for JUST another minute for us to look through the short food menu quickly to decide what food we wanted to add on to our order. He quickly decided to push us to the restaurant if we wanted food. Hello? If we were ordering drinks at the bar, why would we want to order bar food to eat at the restaurant? Perhaps we aren't looking too groomed to garner his prestigious service that's why he was pushing us away? My goodness... this is the worst ever experience I had in my entire stay here. Every other accommodation service staff we have met was friendly, polite, and treats us with loving respect. I honestly do not expect a reputable hotel to have such horrible service.

Is just walking distance to the Christchurch airport (less than 5 mins). There are a big Woolsworth Supermarket and many eateries around the area too and probably takes about 10mins to walk from the hotel. Hotel room is spacious and clean , modern and price is reasonable.

Disappointed, we stayed in the past and our experience was good, unfortunately we decided to stay here again and paid for a spa room, the hot water did not work and the reception had no idea when I would return. They promised us a refund because they changed us to a smaller room without a hot tub and the refund was not made. We feel cheated, I do not recommend it and I would never go back!

Room was very comfortable and clean. good facilities. TV was amazing. Lots to choose from on it. Microwave for cooking supplied. Fridge also. Washing facilities if required and all Free! Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

The loveliest - particular thanks to Sam - front desk staff (and efficient too). Excellent location, only a short walk to the centre, and very pleasant if you go through the park. There is also a bus stop directly outside; it will take you to the centre, or go to the bus station and take a trip to Sumner or Lyttleton - both worth a visit. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. For some reason though, complimentary water and crisps only appeared on our first day! Useful to have a guest laundry, but be warned there is only one machine for all floors... The kitchen area is fine, but not for those who want to cook up a storm - you need to ask for pots and pans. Not a problem for us as we preferred to eat out (try Rangoon Ruby nearby, good, if somewhat 'neutralized' flavours, as the waitress herself put it!) . Overall a really pleasant stay in a very interesting city.

Comfortable hotel in Heart of City. Booked a room using points as a Gold Elite. Requested quiet room and was appointed 3rd floor over traffic lights so receptionist kindly moved me to a room on opposite side. It was quiet however the walls are thin and I can hear a lot of noise this morning - a lot of noise. Room service eggs were excellent, as was bar service last night. They know how to make a good drink. I was a bit annoyed as mini bar knocked this am and said she thought there was “no one in the room” whilst I was on a call. Not so professional. Can recommend as a good hotel in Christchurch (I’ve stayed in quite a few)

I stayed at this hotel again principally because it is an Accor property in the CBD (as I am an ALL Platinum) - but that is really about it. The hotel is passable for what one expects of a Novotel, but it is getting quite dated and the carpet stains in the room are too pointed a reminder of the hotel's age. The bed is soft and the generous number of pillows and cushions make for a very comfy night in. While it is in the CBD, it is a fair walk from most places of note in the city. Since my previous visit, the reception staff have improved in service and manner. I was disappointed that as I left a shirt in my room's cupboard, I had to call a few times to follow up on its search as the promised return call did not come until I called again (the shirt was never found). What is most disappointing is the restaurant. While the quality of the food is acceptable, it is quite overpriced for Christchurch and the restaurant's setting. Despite only having a handful of tables for dinner, I had to approach the wait staff when I wanted a table, to order, get a drink, or receive the check. Similarly, the bar staff are not as proactive as one may expect to come to tables and take drink orders, even when one is the only patron at the bar. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. On one of the mornings I even had to set my own table. Empty juice dispensers are not refilled for quite some time; the only eggs served are scrambled, the only non-meat ”hot” offering are potatoes and beans. Perhaps there is is a concern that some patrons are allergic to tomatoes, green leaves, salad, vegetables, and mushrooms? After two nights I moved to another hotel in Christchurch and am much happier.

Mmaddiecw98Had a great experience at Rosewood Court Motel for 4 nights. The place was cleaned every day to a high standard and very warm. The shower pressure was amazing. A very comfy wee unit that also supplied a lot of cooking utensils and items which is unlike a lot of motels these days. The service was amazing, the host is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend to anyone and will be staying here again.

PPengguna TetamuDATE OF TRAVEL: July 2023 Stayed here for 10 days on a business trip. Room and bathroom was great but the beds are awful. They are not attached to a bed head and are an ensemble base only so they move around. I had a better sleep in a motel in Timaru, which is a shame because working 10 hour days, staying in a 5* hotel, one would think you'd sleep like a baby. Fortunately the shower's high pressure and the bath were great, Apart from that, the hotel grounds is beautiful with ample parking. My room had a veranda which I liked to sit on and watch the traffic go by. I had requested a microwave so as to meal prep due to my diabetes and this was in there prior to check in which was great. Hotel is just around the corner from a heap of restaurants and Westfield Ricccarton and right next to Hagley Park which was great for a morning walk. In room dining was fine, nothing special. I tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Saturday and it was lacklastre. Didn't end up going back. Plenty of cafes around anyway. All up, I rate my stay there 4*. The facilities were great, the requests were met eagerly and the bathroom was fantastic. The room itself is really well appointed but the bed is awful which detracts a star. I'd stay there again with my wife though, maybe bring some *****s to attach to the bed legs to stop them from moving around though!

PPengguna TetamuExcellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. PPengguna TetamuThe V motel is conveniently located within walking distance of a shopping mall and grocery store and a 15-minute drive to the airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is large, clean and very well-equipped. It has all the things that a business traveller needs, except for an iron and ironing board. The bed is comfortable and the towels and linings are clean. The Sony TV is large with Youtube and Netflix. It even provides some cereals and bananas, milk and yogurt for breakfast or snacks. The internet is fast and instructions, passwords are clear and easy to follow. Lastly, the price is fair and very affordable. I highly recommend this motel and would come back to it the next time.

HHelloI have given 5 stars to this motel for the service, cleanliness and amenities because each aspect of these beat my expectations! I am usually very conservative in giving reviews.
Initially I was expecting very basic service given it is a motel. But when I opened the door of the room I was quite surprised. You could feel the room is very clean and bright. The amenities are sufficient to make a simple meal for yourself. There is also daily housekeeping services as well (given it is a motel).
The staff at the reception are also very helpful. When I first arrived, the reception lady asked me where I planned to go and showed me the ways.
The motel is also close (5-10 minutes walk) to the Main Street at Riccarton and there are a lot of restaurants there. You can also take bus to the city centre which takes about 30 minutes including waiting.
The motel is also very close to the Christchurch railway station which is only 10 minutes walk, great if you are taking the scenic trains. There are also a number of shops near the Railway station and you can do some shopping for clothes, vitamins and fresh food too!

PPengguna TetamuExcellent hotel just a stone’s throw from Cathedral Square, and a few minutes walk from the bus interchange. Lovely staff and spotlessly clean large room. Was lucky enough to be there the morning they first opened for breakfast in the L5 restaurant, which I can highly recommend - the home made lemon curd yoghurt and granola was delicious! Looking forward to staying again.

Rooms and bathroom acceptable size for solo business trip. A tall person might not like the bed set up. The quality of the room service food could be improved soggy toasted sandwich and over cooked pizza pricey for what I got. All in all great 2 night stay. Suited my requirements

PPengguna TetamuNot too impressed, got put in the wrong room when I specifically booked the room for the balcony. The guy at the front was new which I understand but no one did anything to help. Walls are thin as anything could hear everyone’s conversation and 5 different people snore. Will never be back.
