Excellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. My stay was simple but it was very comfortable and everything I needed. It was Clean, had a comfy bed, and a great location. I was going on the alpine railroad and it was a great preparation. I didn’t See any of the staff, but the instructions were very clear.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests).
But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier.
Mr. Sui Beng Teh, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review!
He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry.
Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like ****** and being forgetful on our own properties.

衞生：很乾凈，配備了很多浴巾，雖然是老建築但是很乾凈。
環境：周邊特別方便，我們在希爾頓住了兩天轉過來的，傳統酒店更適合家庭入住，希爾頓太小了。而且我們在希爾頓入住第二天早餐費用還收多了，發了郵件也沒回。
服務：服務很好，有代客泊車服務，停車費每天25紐元。就是酒店前台很難找，一樓餐廳旁邊，開始以為是餐廳，歷史建築受保護，前台都不讓掛牌子，很多客人找不到，我們也是繞了一圈還是問了旁邊餐廳服務員才找到了。圖一是酒店入口，辦理入住是在進門後右手邊。

Stayed four nights at this hotel which has a great location and within walking distance to most attractions and restaurants. Check in was good and paid parking plentiful. Unfortunately, the lift was not working on our arrival so we had to leave our luggage in our car and walk up to the third floor. The hotel is dated and grubby as was our room. There was a trolley of dirty towels and linen left in the hallway for over 24 hours during our visit, this is unacceptable! The bed was comfortable but the bathroom towels were very thin. One day we returned to our room at 4.00pm and the room was not made up. I understand the vacated rooms are made up first but after a full day of sightseeing, it would be good to return to a tidied room. I have stayed at various Quest hotels in Australia as I am a member but this is by far the worst. As such, I could not recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Everything about Lylo Christchurch has been good except there is no storage room to keep your luggage, however locker is there to rent with $2 per hour. Room is really clean and neat, comfy, everything just perfect (except the walking distance to airport need around 15 mins and is pretty straightforward right from behind the hostel) . Overall all has been a good experience, thanks Lylo!

TTrace yeoIs just walking distance to the Christchurch airport (less than 5 mins). There are a big Woolsworth Supermarket and many eateries around the area too and probably takes about 10mins to walk from the hotel. Hotel room is spacious and clean , modern and price is reasonable.

The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept soundly throughout the night. The hotel's location was also ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the on-site restaurant, which served delicious food and had a great atmosphere. Overall, I would highly recommend Mayfair Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay. The staff's hospitality and attention to detail truly made my visit memorable, and I look forward to returning in the future.”

PPengguna TetamuStopped here for a night after arriving from a seriously long haul flight, and it was perfect. Nothing to better to perk up than clean rooms and facilities. Anya was highly accommodating and helpful even though my flight in was slightly delayed. She even put up my extra party member for free! Breakfast is readily available in the rooms so for those who are heading out from Christchurch first thing, it's highly convenient! Location wise, near Northland mall, which has all the essential stores needed to get ready for an NZ road adventure starting from Christchurch. Love the red and white theme!

PPengguna TetamuExcellent location! So close to everything in the city centre, we used the valet parking service and didnt take the car out once!, we could easily walk everywhere. We stayed 3 nights in a 1 bedroom suite, which was nice and clean, well appointed, and with a super comfy bed. They even had a wee sewing kit and a toothbrush kit, which are definitely things we've needed on our travels! Facilities in the hotel were great and staff were very friendly and attentive. Quintin from concierge was so helpful, and helped make our stay extra special by organizing wine and platters and delivering balloons to our room for our arrival :) Breakfast was also really yummy. Thank you Fable Christchurch! We really enjoyed our stay :)

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is in a great location, but it is a big hotel. The staff are very pleasant and they make it feel more personal. It is close to shops, restaurants / cafes, the tram and most of what Christchurch city has to offer. We booked direct with the hotel, a good price for the location, but our studio room had a view of a carpark and other room windows. The room was big enough but an extra chair would have been better. We did not like the uncomfortable pillows and the extremely heavy bed cover we had to remove. We don’t normally ask for clean towels each day, but had to with no where to hang to dry sufficiently and no electric towel hanger like we have had in most other hotels we’ve stayed in NZ. Overall a pleasant stay and no problem with valet parking.

Requested quiet room and was appointed 3rd floor over traffic lights so receptionist kindly moved me to a room on opposite side. It was quiet however the walls are thin and I can hear a lot of noise this morning - a lot of noise. Room service eggs were excellent, as was bar service last night. They know how to make a good drink. I was a bit annoyed as mini bar knocked this am and said she thought there was “no one in the room” whilst I was on a call. Not so professional. Can recommend as a good hotel in Christchurch (I’ve stayed in quite a few)

Bathroom with good shower - good water pressure and toiletries. Ordered room service for evening meal - it came quickly and definitely hit the spot. Tempura battered fish and ribs. Good location about a 10 minute walk into Christchurch CBD. On-site free parking. Laundry facilities - washing powder and tokens available at reception. Would recommend.

Really impressed. Lady at reception was so so helpful and finally a hotel that provided real milk upon check in. Old fashioned some quaint anomalies I havent seen for yonks. Roomy, neat and tidy. I toddled up to reception in heavy rain to order continental breakfast and the same helpful lady was so helpful, gave me a few tips and showed me how to get back to room undercover. Complimentary drink at bar, free guest laundry so friendly staff in restaurant as well, good food. Very rarely give 5 stars but Redwood deserves them! Am looking at riding around south island next summer and if I do, will definitely stay at Redwood again.

YYANSHUII booked 3 bedrooms apartment with 3 queen beds and 1 sofa bed. The room is good. The only negative feedback is about the extra charge $30 each for children over 2 years old per night, as many hotels don’t charge children under 11 if they use existing beds. And more importantly, those hotels provide the info on Trip. I was surprised when I was told about the extra charge $180 for 3 children for 2 nights, eventually negotiated down to $90. I would suggest the hotel put children policy on Trip so that people is aware of extra $30 per child (over 2 years old) when they make the booking instead of checking in.
