Hotel 4 bintang Cinisi yang Popular

Our stay was booked through a travel agent in Palermo. We had no idea what it would be like. Magaggiari (hotel and restaurant) exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious, quiet and beautiful (the best shower ever). The surroundings are lush and offer total privacy. The added bonus was the outstanding restaurant. The dishes are unique takes on local ingredients. We had tuna three ways, pasta with a light cod sauce, delicately fried calamari and grilled octopus. The cassata was perfect The staff was attentive but unobtrusive. Luigi who leads the team was a gracious host from the moment we entered the quiet and spacious dining area. I recommend Magaggiari for a place before or after a flight from Palermo, as a welcome break from the city and a base for touring the area, or a destination for relaxation during any visit to Sicily. If we return to the island, this place will be a repeat stop.

You can't get much closer to the Palermo airport so Villa Rosa die Venti is very convenient for an early morning flight. That said, it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere if you don't have a car (we had dropped ours off in the evening). There is a large pool and outdoor space with picnic tables. Rooms are quite strange - reminded me of the Jetsons - weirdly modern, like a space station but quirky. Our room had a hot tub in the room which had bubble bath added (making it unusable for skin sensitivities) and it didn't heat up well. The shower is a glass rectangle also in the room and leaked all over the floor making it dangerously slippery. There is a small seating area off the room near the pool. Pool lights stay on all night making it hard to darken the room. The staff very kindly will provide a large portion of lasagna and wine for dinner if you are stuck there without a car. It is also possible to have pizza delivered. We left too early for the full breakfast but enough of a breakfast was provided and individually made coffee drinks. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport. The decor in the reception and dining area feels like a nice youth hostel. Rooms are big enough and the bed was comfortable. Oddly, the staff did not assist with baggage, either loading in or out of the van or to our room. If you are worried about getting to the airport for an early flight, stay here. If not, stay in Palermo and take the very reliable bus to the airport or a taxi. The airport is very small and very little time is needed for check in.

When we arrived we were greeted at the secure gate by Claudio. He immediately welcomed us in and showed us our way around the breakfast area for the next morning. We were then shown to our rooms. Before departing us he made sure that we were happy with everything. It appeared that our rooms had been newly renovated. I wish I took photos, as the ones here on TA are not current (Hotels .com has current pics) They rooms were quite lovely. Additionally they were clean, comfortable and well appointed. The self serve breakfast the next morning included many offerings: croissants, fruit, cheese, yogurt, toast, coffee, juice and more. It was more than sufficient for us. For the rate and proximity to the airport, this was a good option :)

We arrived at 12:30pm for check in. The front door was locked and there were no instructions on how to access the lobby. We rang the bell and knocked for about 10 minutes. No one came. We waited on the narrow street with our luggage until another guest walked out and opened the door for us. We walked into the empty lobby and looked at an empty welcome desk. We finally found a business card on the desk. We called the numbers. The first was disconnected. The 2nd was answered by a gentleman who shared he'd be over shortly. 15 minutes later, he arrived and asked us to pay before entering our rooms (They charged an extra 10 euro above what our initial reservation was for 'fees.') We booked two rooms for adults and kids. The room in the main bulding was spectacular. Exactly like the website pictures and what we expected. The other room was actually an adjacent facility and was nothing like the pictures. The AC downstairs did not work making the rooms unusable. We called and told it'd be fixed. It was not. The beds in the master were a twin and a child's princess bed (see pic). There was debris, ants, broken glass, random nails, broken shower spigot, trash in the appliances. The shower had very little water pressure. The front door had to be wrestled open There was a bag of used shoes in the master bedroom. The kids room had no AC. When we asked about other options, we were told this was all they had. We had sent messages via website and called ahead of time to arrange a shuttle. When we arrived, we were told that they'd have to take us in two trips or get another car. They also requested to be paid 80 euros in cash separate from the hotel bill. During our stay, we did not see anyone working the lobby. We had to call multiple numbers to find someone to help. These and various other negative elements made us feel unwelcomed. Moreover, we felt deceived as the pictures on the website only showed the beautiful rooms, not the room we were given (see attached pictures.)
