Kai and Ahmed at the front desk were just wonderful. They were very helpful and friendly. The location is great with Brighton Baths diagonally opposite and the beach within easy reach. The room was well-equipped and really spacious. It was however quite dated and could use a deep clean and some basic maintenance.

Bed was ok, pillows lumpy. A bit worn overall, but the location is sensational. Low water pressure and the shower was only warm, and that was without turning the cold tap on at all. Undercover parking out the back. It was clean yet quite old. Would we stay again? Yes. Would it be a memorable experience that you can’t wait to tell friends and family? No. But it was fit for purpose and with so many restaurants within 10 mins walk down in Bay Street that will be what keeps it booked out.

Excellent apartment so long as you do not want to sleep. Many apartments on the railway line and rail crossing with constant ringing of bells, rail noise and honking of train siren for trains in both directions. No double glazing on windows indicates lack of care for paying guests. Requested move to street side when booking weeks before stay, but not honoured and request during stay treated similarly. Advised next time ( wishful thinking) they will advise 48 hours prior if street side room is confirmed, which would leave you 48 hours to find alternative accomodation….not helpful. Unless you can get a street side room, would not recommend this place.

It is very satisfying to be close the train station and the Woolworth supermarket. The only problem I had was that the room, third floor sea view was warm, it has a ceiling fan, but the central air conditioning did not reach the room. I will for sure return

Best quality apartments in St Kilda. I have been staying here since 2012 and Hamptons St Kilda is my accomodation of choice when coming on business to Melbourne. Quality Bathroom with pure white crisp towels and a Fully appointed Kitchen, with a nice sized lounge area. Washing machine and dryer too boot. Bedrooms are comfortable, clean crisp white cotton bedding. There really is nothing not to like here. There is no onsite parking bit in the locale there are free street spots. Some good coffee spots along Chapel and Carlisle Sts and a varying array of places to eat. Tram into the city if you need it is close by. I can highly recommend this quality accomodation.

The Kimberley Hotel was really good. Staff were very accommodating considering I had booked for 5 people and trip.com allowed us to book a four bed room for 5 people (i had assumed it included a roll out bed) Was very annoyed when we arrived as very tired after a long drive, however the staff at The Kimberley Gardens Hotel were very accomodating and upgraded us to an adjoining room at no extra cost. Would not book with trip.com again, but would definitely stay at Kimberley Gardens again.

I stay here regularly when in town because the location is great and the Accor group has a commitment to Covid-safe cleaning practices. On this stay, there were very high winds and I discovered this trip that the building has a unique wind-tunnelling issue. The hallways ”sing” with a high-pitched squeal through the vents. No worries, the rooms have fire doors and the minute the door to the room is shut, the sound is blocked out. In my case, the little mechanism at the bottom of the door didn't seal off, which meant the sound continued. The concierge changed my room immediately - brilliant! Only issue was that there are many fingermarks on door handle backplates, so I cleaned them all myself. Also, I was verbally harassed by a guest for choosing to wear a mask in the lift. Not at all the Sebel's fault; just a disappointing end to a lovely stay.

Booked this because the price was reasonable. Studio Apartment is misleading as it's a tiny room with a TV, carqvan fridge and microwave. The ironing board was useful as a dining table. Good sized bathroom, terrible water pressure, bed was okay and the room wasn't serviced, not that it really mattered. We were warned about the construction works but couldn't use the tiny courtyard as it had been pulled to pieces and the sliding door was taped up and covered with grotty, torn plastic. Thought we'd have a sleep in as checkout is 10.30 but was woken early by someone banging and crashing around the sliding doors with a broom cleaning. The day before someone was dragging and peeling the plastic off the sliding door, and other guests using the shared entrance can be noisy. Check in was very good, helpful receptionist who made our room a priority for preparation as we were getting in earlier than check-in times but a $100 securiry deposit for the room was taken off my credit card. 5 seconds to take it but apparently takes 5 business days to release it. Still waiting 8 business days later. Bonus is Aldi downstairs, a short work from trams etc. They'll book taxis for you which is very useful. There are rooms for the budget conscious but don't expect anything special. I'd probably pay more for a better room if I were to stay again but this fitted the budget at the time.

My sister and I had the best time at Base St Kilda! It’s an extremely sociable hostel and we met some of our best friends here that we have continued to meet up the east coast! (The bingo is a must do!) While we had some a minor issue with our booking for an excursion with Happy Travels, it was resolved and we are super grateful for the both teams for accomodating and helping us sort it all out! Highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re solo and want to find some friends for life! Thank you Base!
