Hotel terbaik di Redfern

I have lost count of the number of times I have stayed at this hotel. It is my go to place when I am in Sydney and I am busy and all I need to a place to dump my gear and lay my head. I have searched for and occasionally used other cheap hotels in Sydney but the Song is ideal for me. If you want a more centrally located (but with shared bathing facilities) try Song in Wentworth Ave. I am always somewhat bemused when I read one star reviews. I guess the reviewer has not completed ”The Economics of Hotel Management 101.” The price you pay for a room in a hotel in Sydney depends on location, room size, facilities and staff numbers. Minimise all of these and you can charge a figure closer to $100 than $300. So, do your homework before booking any accommodation. The Song is wedged between very busy Cleveland Street and the busiest section of rail in Australia. The double glazed windows reduce the sound considerably. I always get a good night sleep, more often because of my abject tiredness &/or my alcoholic intake. Don't bring a cat to the Song because when in your room you won't be able to swing it!! There is usually one staff member who signs you in and then you are left alone. Previously I always enjoyed breakfast in the cafe. Because of COVID it was not operating, nevertheless, they gave me a paper bag with cereal, milk, apple and muesli bar. Oh yes the kettle was not working. I did report this misdemeanour to management. So, the Song is not the Ritz but it offers exactly what I want when I visit Sydney, close to Central Railway station, Chinatown and the multitude of restaurants in Surry Hills.

Only gave 1 star due to not being able to give 0. Black mold over entire bathroom. Not a single tiled surface was mold free. Cockroaches crawling in at night under the doors. The vent of the air con unit was covered in dust and more black mold. Not that the air con unit worked anyway. We stayed middle of winter so lucky for us all the sheets including pillows were made entirely of plastic (natural fibres would have left us freezing). Staff were only there probably to clean and that's it, because we never saw them. Ever! We tried to check in 20 minutes early and the lady claimed ”there is no luggage storage”. Lo and behold, when we were finally checked in there is a massive painted sign saying ”luggage storage”. Also, the room wasn't ready even by 2PM, the stated check-in time. We saw one gentleman traveller waiting outside to check in at 7PM in the freezing cold for God knows how long he sat there, but we were unable to let him in due to signage explicitly stating that letting in people would lead to non-refundable expulsion. Also, the doors only open with an App, so if your phone does good luck getting in. Honestly, if my phone died, I would have called the cops and had them find a way to let us in with the non-existent staff. Cleaning lady was so lovely. Reception lady was horrible. Kitchen had a faulty stove that was always firing. This is probably not advisable, as a simple gas leak could mean this misfiring burner will blow the place up - if only that would happen (with no-one staying there), because that is the only way this place is going to get better (a complete rebuild). Kitchen was filthy, with no cups to be seen anywhere. I probably wouldn't have used them anyway. Why the heck is there a massive tarp covering the balcony? Did this place semi-burn down??? Also would like to state that the photos provided are most likely from the Glebe location that they also own. The photos looked simple, which is what I wanted. Simple, not freaking disgusting. I have stayed in backpackers in Africa that are legitimately better than this hell-hole. Might I add that one of those places included a room with no glass in the window, and I found that place better than The Village!!!! I have copied this review in case it is ”magically” lost. We stayed here for 4 nights in May 2022 and what a calamity of an experience. It even begun before we landed in Sydney with them cancelling our booking due to a water leak in the room they allocated to us. After trying to find alternative accommodation at the last minute we were then advised all was OK. The greeting when we arrived was good and we were shown our room located directly behind the communal kitchen (room 1). Apparently they supplied a continental breakfast each morning with bakery items, cereals, orange juice, coffee but you wouldn't know it because only on one morning of the four we were there we were greeted with leftover crumbs or one lonely croissant. On one morning there was even no milk, coffee or orange juice at all. This place does not have a manned reception which I have no issue with but each time we went downstairs to the bar to ask a question we were treated with distain from the girls working there. The room was spacey but just really poor hygiene and basic....very basic. Then to top it off on our final night the vanity in the bathroom fell off the wall and onto me throwing out all our toiletries and leaving me with a heavy bang on the head. They couldn't fix the problem and instead arranged alternate accommodation at another hotel so we had to pack up our bags and relocate unexpectedly. By the time we got to the other hotel it was 11:15pm and we had to leave the following morning. They didn't even offer us any compensation or at the very least a breakfast voucher considering we had only managed to get something to eat on 1 of the 4 mornings we were there. Just really poor service with little regard to how it impacted us. NEVER AGAIN.

Staff here hit it out of the park! The lovely gentleman at the Front desk was warm, kind and certainly went above and beyond to unsure our stay was the best possible. Hotel is modestly furnished with comfy feel and the bed is super plush. Everything is very fresh and clean with a nice feel throughout. We will definitely stay again!!

Overall a good experience and a good hotel, if I need I would probably book another stay there as well, everything is brand new as the hotel opens not long ago. It’s is very quiet area and very convenient as there is a train station up the street, a metro station 5 min walk, supermarket and cafes next door. The bed was very comfortable and soft and so does the pillows, the shower was excellent and it had everything we needed. The rooms have no key card but a code so you don’t need to worry about losing it, and the staff were friendly. My only concerns were the windows, there was only one window in my room that barely opened as it was blocked by a wall so we could not get fresh air. The second thing was the hand and body wash, they were so stinky I had to go buy my own soap.

Made a last minute booking due to broad train network failure and was unable to get home in a timely fashion. Location very convenient to Central station . The bar was buzzing and the staff were very friendly on check-in given I’d booked 10mins earlier on booking.com. They took me to my room and gave me a rundown of the services. While the rooms are old, they are clean and the linen and towels were good quality and the bed and pillows comfortable. It was a hot night and the A/C delivered keeping my peri menopausal at bay. I ordered a delicious meal from the bistro and was able to walk to work very well rested the next morning. I will happily stay there again.

Great location near Central Station and good service from the friendly and helpful staff. Room was relatively small, particularly the bathroom which was a little tight, but this is no problem for a short stay. A negative though was that there was just one curtain when there should have been two, and it barely covered the window which meant being woken too early from direct sunshine streaming into the room.

Great place for a girls weekend away in the city, very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
