Spacious room space and clean, easy and quick access to Pengium Prarade and churchill island.

We stayed for just one night while we were visiting Phillip Island for the Penguin parade and other wildlife experiences. It was very handy for the penguins, being just a 20 minute or so drive, and much less expensive than staying on Phillip Island itself. We received a friendly welcome on arrival. The room was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We had a fridge, microwave, toaster, tea/coffee. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Some reviews have said that it’s quite dated, but we thought it must be fairly modern! There was a shared bbq, and reception gave us a box containing foil, tools and cleaning wipes. We had a table and chairs outside our door, but it was too hot to sit there on our visit! There was a supply of drinks and snacks in the room, which were for sale at $2 each. San Remo has a few cafes and restaurants. There is pelican feeding at noon every day by the pier.

Stayed here for one night during my trip to Phillip Island and was very happy with my room. The staff were wonderful with helping me to check in, despite dealing with crashed Wi-Fi. Despite booking for a single room I was put into a family room, which was absolutely fine - I didn't mind at all and assumed this was because of the computer bug. Upon first walking into the room I did notice a faint whiff of cigarette smoke but this quickly disappeared. Everything was clean and tidy, with plenty of kitchen amenities available (including a kettle, fridge and microwave). I also found a hair dryer, extra blankets and a fan. I did find a couple of design choices about this particular room to be unusual; not only was there no main overhead light that lit up the whole bedroom area, the air conditioner was on the far side of the room and didn't directly reach one of the beds. I ended up leaving it on for some time to ensure the room was cool enough before going to bed. Being able to park directly outside the room was excellent and the site itself was easy to get in and out of. Also be aware that you need to check in at the bottle shop next door, not the restaurant! Otherwise it was a good stay and I'd happily consider staying here again.

Place was really nice and we booked one of the King Room with a Spa. The room was really clean and was provided with towels, extra blankets, two bowls and plates and extra pillows etc. Our room had a nice new split system. Unfortunately, when the split system was turned on it kinda smelled a little like cigarettes, but no big deal. Definitely would book this place again for a nice quick and local get away. Me and my wife booked same day as our stay. Definitely would recommend booking the King Room with Spa if you really want nice stay and experience.

10 “BIG4 ingenia Holiday Phillip island” From when we arrived early they let us check in early we’re super friendly and knowledgeable of local things to do and weather which was important for our stay, also the room when we arrived was better then some 4 star hotels we had stayed out great quality cooking appliances and utensils as well as washing machine and dryer all in A1 condition and comfy beds in both rooms highly recommend and we will definitely be back no more staying at overpriced places around the island this place was amazing and had kids playground games rooms with arcade games and even a jumping pillow for all age kids couldn’t recommend this place enough even had separate kitchen rooms and bbq area for people staying in campers or caravan without those facilities in them and clean showers and toilets if you haven’t tried big4 ingenia definitely give them a try we will be back

The Hostel itself is great,and the staff are more than welcoming. Very clean, amazing facilities, ample kitchen, confortable terrace and living room. Simply awesome. There's also a great Café just downstairs with really friendly people. However, do keep in mind that Newhaven is not at walking distance from Cowes or any of the main attractions (beaches, penguins), and public transport is very scarce in the island. If you don't have a car, think twice about staying here. There's bikes for rent at Cowes (highly recommend ”Bicycle Repair Man” - Wayne) but they can only help you to a certain extent.

Went away with a friend for the weekend, they were very freindly. Was a mix up with the booking in regards to how many beds, but they were quick to sort it out and provided a very exquisit and exceptional service, making for a very pleasurable experience, very happy, will definetly visit agian

We stayed 3 nights, 2 adults and two boys aged 8 & 9, in one of the cabins. We knew we weren’t going to the Sheraton and maybe some are better than others but #5 was well below par. The cooking facilities were very poor. One small saucepan without a lid, an old, buckled, dirty aluminium frypan and an electric frypan (the underneath of which was covered in fat). We weren’t planning on cooking gourmet food but there wasn’t even a salad bowl!! There was built up dirt and grime around the hot plates and sink. The bathroom was in very poor condition. All the cabinetry is swollen from steam/water damage and in need of replacement. I had the misfortune just before we left to look under the couch for a missing shoe and oh dear! It’s a long time since a vacuum or broom has been under there!! Outside the railing around the deck is falling apart, indicative of the age and general deterioration. During our stay the pool was a disgrace. Green and murky on arrival on Friday afternoon, it was closed for the whole day on Saturday for much needed maintenance and reopened on Sunday. Whilst the green had gone it was far from crystal clear. The old, cracked plastic chairs were in keeping with the general lack of care and upkeep we experienced. Interestingly upon checkout the usual question of “did you enjoy your stay” wasn’t asked. Perhaps they’ve been trained not to for fear of the answer? I’ve lived in Victoria all my life (I’m 60 years old) and this was my first ever visit to Phillip Island. The island is lovely but next time we will stay elsewhere.

Sensational place all year around was great for the kids with a games room, movie room, heated pool and spas. Large outdoor areas for go karts you can hire. The fire pit at night is terrific and bar and restaurant area. There are playgrounds and loads of wildlife. The cabins are well equipped with great seating and nice bathrooms and there is bbqs in the pool area.

The staff were super helpful and very pleasant. Room and grounds super clean and tidy. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed. Many thanks, your efforts and attention to detail are noticed and appreciated. PS. Would be nice if a few other motel operators could take a visit here to see how it’s done.
