Visited for 3 nights at the end of June. Bedroom was reasonably spacious and the bathroom was modern and well appointed with a good shower. The main problem was the room was too hot. The hotel provided a fan, which we had running all night, which probably helped a little, but the main problem was the design of the building, which soaked up the warmth of the sun. First floor rooms may be slightly cooler than those on the top floor. Breakfasts were good, although we kept having to ask for sugar and butter, which, for some reason, was not supplied on the breakfast table.

I have stayed here 3 times in the last couple of weeks for work puposes and i have to say it is one of the best experiences in a very long time. From entry to exit, i have found the staff, the owners and the regulars all extremely knowledgable and took an instant liking to the style and flair of the establishment. The rooms have been spacious, extremely clean and everyone has bent over backwards to help. In a similar fashion, the food has been some of the best i have eaten and put it all together in an incredible setting and that is 'The Cross Keys'. Simply perfect, traditional and a true english treasure. Prices for rooms and meals are more than reasonable, in fact excellent value for money. I felt very safe, the wi-fi was excellent and the use of technology in the background is incredibly subtle - cctv etc, secure card transactions. Overall, a big thank you to the owners David and Rebecca for doing a splendid job not only for raising the standards but giving everyone a chance to contribute to some great bar conversations.

This is a lovely old house so don’t expect corporate styling like a travelodge. Our room (9) was on the ground floor and overlooked the beautiful garden. We watched squirrels and a variety of birds from the window. The room does need a little bit of refurbishment but nothing that spoiled our stay. The beds were comfy with nice white bedding and good white towels. Plenty of hot water while we were there and nice quality complimentary toiletries. Well stocked hospitality tray with nice biscuits which were replaced when we ate them. The owner is a little quirky but we had a very pleasant conversation with him when we arrived. We were visiting family so didn’t eat at the hotel.

Lovely hotel and location, right opposite the cathedral and for a lovely stroll into the 'city' centre. Rooms were lovely, lady at reception very friendly as were the various cleaners we bumped into and our room was lovely and big with a huge copper bath in the bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely, apart from some guest who decided it was ok to have a loud mobile phone conversation for about 20 minutes in a small hotel restaurant, but that's not the hotel's fault at all! We had a light lunch also there, which again was lovely, although the chap who looked like he was maybe running the restaurant (with a moustache) comes across somewhat aloof, promised to bring us menus outside and never did, so I had to chase him up after we'd waited about 20 minutes, and even then took an age to come back and take our order. He needs to learn to smile a bit more and chill out! The lady, who I'm guessing runs the hotel also, is lovely however, couldn't do more for you. The car park arrangement is fine, considering you can't park your car on-site and they have a designated secure area in the public car-park about 5 mins walk away so you drive into the hotel, drop your bags off and then leave your car elsewhere afterwards, which seemed to work just fine. So all in all, a really nice place to stay in a really lovely place so highly recommend.

Nice little hotel in the heart of Ely and within spitting distance of the cathedral and high Street. Restaurant downstairs served good food and the room was warm and beds comfortable. Bathroom was in bed of refurbishment, needed an engineering degree to figure out the shower

Hotel only 5 min walk from Cathedral so in the middle of town. Lovely hotel.room recently decorated and had iron, safe.hairdryer and coffee making facilities. Staff very friendly. We stayed 2 days and had evening meal there both days. Waitress,Tiffany ,makes a very good prawn cocktail.and was very friendly and helpful. The chefs blue steak was cooked properly, it was nice to find someone that knew how to cook a bluesteak. Over all very nice experience

I spent two nights at the Riverside in on the water in Ely. It is an exceptionally well maintained property. Both the room and the bathroom were pristine. NesCafe machine And the rim was a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious, and the breakfast room was bright and airy. If anyone is going to Ely, I most definitely recommend staying here. If there was any complaint at all, it's that there are no hosts on site. There is staff present at breakfast, but the rest of the time you access the building with a key code and pick up your key on an entryway table.
