No idea where to start. If you are looking for luxury, this is 100% the place for you. A complete haven off the beaten track in a small area just outside Rethymnon/Rethmino. After a 1.5 hour journey from Heraklion, we were greeted at check in, bags taken off us and we were seated in their gorgeous reception over looking the main pool. Here we were given cold towels and drinks to refresh from the journey. After 5 or so minutes, we were greeted by a member of their team who explained all about the hotel, the area, timings etc and then walked to our room with our bags being catered for behind us. Superb start. We paid extra for the Swim Up White Room which had the use of a small shared pool between another 9-10 rooms....everyone tended to stick to their section of the pool so not to disturb/intrude on peoples privacy...and it was a lovely thing to have access to. The terrace came with a table/chair set along with a lovely double bed/sun bed giving you full access to the sun from sunrise to sunset. The view is of the Crete mountain range as opposed to the Sea with you being the other side of the hotel. You also had a lot of greenery hiding the main road behind. Even though it was a main road, traffic was fairly limited and the sliding door/blinds gave adequate noise cancellation anyway. The beds are absolutely massive, so be prepared to have an amazing sleep. The minibar is also included in the all inclusive and this is replenished daily, along with the fancy espresso pods. You get 2 x beers, 2 x coke zero, 2 x coke and 2 x Fanta along with 2 x large bottles of still water. You also get 4 x espresso pods and 2 x decaff along with tea bags etc. Please note - NO MILK. You can get this from the on site shop, however. The buffet restaurant is actually unreal. For a buffet, in hotels, it's the best I have had. You have access to a cold room filled with greek salads, cereals, freshly cut meats including fish, sauces etc then the hot counter where things change every night. You have chefs cooking in the middle doing random daily plates like Beef Wellington or their famous Gyros/Souvlaki combos. There is also a fresh pizza station with guy literally tossing dough and oven cooking the pizzas in front of you. The service there is also fantastic with drink ordering taken as soon as you arrive/sit down. There are a number of A La Carte restaurants on site....we ate at the Tavernaki (Greek), the White (Fine Dining) and the Italian. They were all absolutely superb ESPECIALLY the White. My partner doesn't like sea food, but we tried it anyway. The view was unmatched, the service/food was unbelievably good and the wine just kept coming on tap without asking. The beach is clear, albeit small, and efficient. Not a lot of marine life so not great for snorkelling, but great for a dip with its warm temperature and crystal clear waters.
