This is one of the best hotels we stayed in this trip! Beautiful! In the middle of nowhere! Room - comfortable and everything you needed is provided! Love the atmosphere! Breakfast provided! We ate dinner which was delicious! Beautiful scenery from every room!

Stayed for two nights with the Arctic Adventures tour group. It snowed for the duration but the rooms were always warm at all times of the day. All fixtures and facilities were modern and I couldn't fault the cleanliness and upkeep at all. Don't worry about the location outside of the main town as meals are all available for a reasonable cost. The only two tiny things I'd suggest would be to have all signs in more than one language. Even if hardly any native Icelanders use the hotel, we should be reminded that we're in their country. Secondly, the breakfast yogurt was fairly thin. If this was real skyr or at least a thicker better quality that would be a nice touch.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel ! The rooms, service, food, all were the best and truly added to our Iceland trip . Our cottage had a lake view and extended seating area. The furnishings were tasteful and so comfortable. The bathroom was excellent and had a HUGE shower. Loved the porch area outside the sliding glass doors. It was bit chilly to sit outside for more than a few minutes but we had a lovely view from the seating area inside our room. We stayed for 2 nights and had a fantastic dinner at the hotel each night ! But what standouts most of all is the caring service we received while there (and after we left the hotel) The hotel manager went above and beyond to help us out and return to us something very important we had mistakenly left behind in our room. We were just blown away by the care and concern they/he demonstrated to us. We are so grateful. Highly recommend the Magma Hotel to anyone visiting South Iceland . You can find nothing better.

PPengguna TetamuLovely hotel, nice unique design and even though some parts were under renovation it was nice and comfortable. Reception was wonderful and nice. Check in and Check out was a breeze. Beds, shower and room was very comfirtable. We did not partake in the Buffet Dinner because we ate elsewhere but the staff let us check it out and if I were willing to eat there, it LOOKED good and decent value given the food they offered. My 1 star removed was due to breakfast; while good I got sick from it. I ate these cold fish fillets and not knowing what they were I just ate them and seemed ok. Fast forwards hours later and I am running to the bathroom and ultimately throwing up and was sick for a few days afterwards. Had to be the fish because my husband ate the same thing I did except the fish and was fine. So don't eat mystery fish lol.
