We stayed here two nights. The first after leaving Washington on a week's drive around Virginia, the second a week later on the way back to DC. It was a convenient stop which was the only reason we picked it. There is a poor choice of restaurants in the vicinity. I got a good night's sleep both nights. On the return night, the hotel was very busy with an Elks convention. The beds are comfortable. The AC was not noisy. Room and bathroom were clean. Though the bathroom needs refreshing. Especially the second one. Dove toiletries are excellent. The hotel does not offer complementary breakfast, so we ate at the IHOP across the road. I asked for a quiet room away from lifts and ice machines, when I booked. Both times the hotel took my request on board. The first time, our room was right at the end of a long corridor - perfect as it meant no passing footfall.

Lets see. The room has a phone and sits on the really tiny table. Only problem its a paperweight and doesn't work. Was a good one from the 1990's. (Good thing you have a cellphone.) The room had two TVs, one in the ”living” room which takes two remotes to use it. One to turn it on, the other to find a channel. To actually use the ”remote” you have to be within two feet of the tv which defeats the purpose of a ”remote” Also you might want to bring your own batteries just in case. The tv in the bedroom is similar and works best using the remote from the the living room, so enjoy the walk to get it. The unit has several light switch's, but some control nothing. Well maybe a couple of lights, but bring along a few bulbs as they may come in handy. If you want to cook, it come complete with a souse pan and a frying pan, that's it.. The range is a vintage 1990 electric, so plan your meals well. Coffee maker, is on its last legs but is available. Not exactly well stocked and has minimal silverware. Comes complete with Two forks, three spoons, and two bread knifes. Also two plates, two saucers, and three cups. Has a toaster, but watch it carefully, as it burns bread or bagels, The bathroom was clean and the shower was very nice. The sink and stand was very tiny with little to no room to put your items on when shaving or cleaning up. The hotel is in a nice area and secluded off the beaten path. Very close to a Walmart to pickup some of the missing things like plastic utensils. The beds were comfortable We were in the room on the second floor near the stairs. It seemed that was the location people liked to talk on their cellphones and also smoke, which was right outside our window. Recommendation would be to spend a little more and a different place.

We stayed at this Sleep Inn 6 years ago, and based off my review at that time, we decided to stay again on our way to The Outer Banks. I needed 2 rooms and the price was right. It served the purpose we needed ; a stopover to break up our trip.. The bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful. The carpet throughout needs to be replaced. It was very dirty. There was something spilled on the bed skirt of my son's bed and it looked gross. The complimentary breakfast was average continental fare, and the breakfast area was clean. Again, it was fine. The staff was very friendly and the lady at the front desk, whose name I have forgotten, was helpful and accommodating. She made sure our rooms were on the same floor with the necessary number of beds. My son is disabled so we needed the first floor. When my request was made, someone from the hotel contacted me to let me know that my request would be honored.

The owner and employees of super 8 are always so professional and kind I needed a downstairs last minute room and she made it happen in the heat with a bad ankle that meant the world to me RM was clean got some rest ate next door and left thank u much!! Will be back

This is an old motel that has been updated. It has some throwbacks like a 9ft deep pool, sunlamps in the bathrooms and popcorn walls. Updated with nice beds/bedding, good Wi-Fi and AC, fridges, microwave, coffee maker, etc. I like the charm and friendliness and the pool is gorgeous. The towels are a little thin/sad. Across the driveway is a Holiday Inn Express . It is a more modern hotel with inside entrances and smells very clean. Costs a little more and no free breakfast, but that place also seems like a good option. A few odd things about the Clarion. 1) There is an extra, “indoor” pool with an old hot tub. In case you can’t use the outdoor one? Kind of crazy construction. 2) I’ve seen this before in VA but this hotel will not accept guests who live within 50 miles. 3) Here is one I have never seen. This place has a warning on the wall by the pool that chlorinated water may be damaging to your hair. 😂 I’ll try to post a picture.

Recently scheduled two nights stay at this Holiday Inn Express. This chain is my first choice when traveling but I will NEVER stay at this location again! Should have known better at time of check-in when I heard the front desk tell another guest on Friday night that maintenance could not help anymore that day, even though their toilet and sink were both not flushing/draining! They didn't even offer the guest another room! My issue occurred the following day when the guest across the hall from my room used their electronic key to accidentally open my room. Honest mistake, but how does that happen?? When I went down to the front desk to report and inquire, both front desk people told me that was impossible and basically called me a liar. After further conversation, they finally agreed to call maintenance. When maintenance arrived, he told me the only way that could happen is if the front desk (same two individuals who basically called me a liar) made a master key for the other guest by mistake! After being treated this way and disgusted with such poor service, we decided to check out early and shorten our trip. When I checked out, I asked for a printed receipt, they told me that was impossible, and they would email me the receipt. I had them confirm my email address. To date, I have not received a receipt! Don't waste your time and money on this Holiday Inn Express! Really unfortunate this location is lowering my faith in this hotel chain!
