Such a wonderful stay at Caribe Town! I spent my 40th here and there is no where else I would have wanted to be!! The property is beautiful, the people are so warm and inviting, and the accommodations are just perfect bungalows in the jungle. We laid by the pool, did yoga, read on our patio hammock, played games, had drinks, and just enjoyed everything here. I loved how thoughtful and considerate everything was - there was an area with all sorts of info on local activities, recommended restaurants, a number for a tuk tuk, we had a load of laundry done before we left, and a massage during our stay. I never thought I would be lucky enough to have a massage on my patio in the jungle. The location is perfect too! Right across the street from the beach and an easy walk to restaurants and markets. 10/10 we would come back again!

We spent 10 days in CaribeTownHotel. Our apartment was cozy and nice. It was the first time I saw monkeys so close and heard their voice. Very conveniently served breakfasts, different every day. The owner responded quickly to our requests to quiet the air conditioning. We felt at home there. Greetings to all the staff, especially the girls from the reception / bar.. Greeteengs

Very nice staff, awesome garden with lots of animals like sloth, monkey, tucan and colibri and very tasty breakfast. It‘s also very safe, easily reachable and the location is great to start the day with a walk at the Playa Cocles just across the street!

Details, details, details! That is what makes a bungalow stay at Caribe Town in Playa Cocles stand out among other small inn vacation spots. Yes, there’s the delightful pool, cozy bar, nutritious and artful breakfasts, proximity to beach and restaurants. But the quality is in the detail. The owner took time to communicate well ahead of our trip and every transfer, tour, and restaurant she suggested seemed customized for us. Each staff member has special creative skills and an abundance of diverse experiences, intuiting just what activity or delicious beverage or scenic tip would make each day special for us. And they were right! The bungalows are nestled in lush greenery on paths that wind through an amazing garden that can only be described as cultivated wildness. Every pause was rewarded with bursts of colorful flowers, huge leaves, cascading vines and hundreds of different plant species sharing space and sound with frogs and bright birds and silly monkeys and ants busily shouldering burdens three times their size. There’s magic here!

Love this hotel. A small boutique hotel nestled in the jungle across the street from the beach. Fantastic breakfast available at small charge. The grounds are beautiful with monkeys and sometimes a sloth. Nice pool for relaxing after a day of activities. Location is perfect for exploring the area and many rests are walkable. This is our second visit and we highly recommend it.

We just returned from 9 days at Caribe Town and it was an amazing experience. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants, grocery stores, and various beach spots. You can easily take a short Tuk Tuk ride from Caribe Town to other beaches, national parks, and the central area of Puerto Viejo. From the moment we arrived for check-in we were greeted by wonderful staff who gave us a tour of the property, starting with the honor bar :) We stayed in Suite # 6 and enjoyed the balcony area each evening watching the wildlife (Sloths, Monkeys, birds, and Kinkajous) cross the tree lines. Be sure to bring a flashlight and wander the grounds at night to see the poisonous dart frogs on the leaves above the pond area. We opted for the daily breakfast, and it did not disappoint. Each day there is a special meal to choose from and my favorite being the Coconut French toast, but they were all fantastic! The dining/bar area is set up perfectly, giving it that relaxed Caribbean vibe. We enjoyed spending time here talking about our day and sharing experiences and ideas with other guests and staff. This was our first trip to Puerto Viejo, and we look forward to a return trip in the future.

We couldn't have felt more welcomed by the family who runs Hotel Caribe Town. It's a beautiful spot, surrounded by tropical gardens. Within 10 minutes of arriving, we spotted a two-toed sloth climbing a nearby tree, a testament to the family's efforts to create an oasis for wildlife. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the daily breakfasts amazing--so much delicious fresh fruit. Book a massage or sign up for a fitness class. Or just walk to the beach and grab lunch in town. This spot is close to so many things, and the family have many, many great suggestions for things to do.

My now wife and I honeymooned in Costa Rica, and we stayed at Caribe Town for the majority of it. And let me just say, we could not have been happier with our experience! From the moment we arrived the staff and owners treated us like we were family. Think “laid back B &B in paradise”. It was incredible. The room was comfortable and well stocked, and anything you needed was either a short walk or drive away. And you must have breakfast there. We did the meal included option, and it was awesome. From authentic local Costa Rican breakfasts to eggs/sausages, to Huevos Rancheros, everything was fresh and delicious, made to order. One of the owners even makes his own pico de gallo. We had some fantastic food elsewhere on our trip but I’d put any of it up against Caribe Town. Even the owners two dogs were the best (see pics!). Another great feature was the excursions the staff recommended and set up for us. They really made our experience and honeymoon a trip to remember. Thank you Caribe Town!! We’ll be back!

My experience at Caribe Town was absolutely incredible. I stayed here as part of a yoga retreat. Caribe Town is the perfect place for a retreat. Kari and Joel were the most gracious hosts with such kind and grounding energy. The staff were attentive to their client’s needs. The food was fresh, cooked with love, and soooo delicious! The vegan options were amazing and satisfying. The beach is a short walk and Puerto Viejo is about 40 minutes walking distance or a 5 minute tuk tuk ride. It was a culturally enriching, spiritual experience. I hope to come back soon!
