We had the most wonderful 4 days at this beautiful old property. Le Chevalier Noir is in the perfect location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and an easy walk into the old village. We were welcomed by Paul, who is a wonderful host with a vast knowledge of the surrounding area and was happy to help with reservations and recommendations. The house is beautifully decorated with large comfortable bedrooms - we had a little balcony overlooking the valley below. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul,from providing a sumptuous spread for breakfast with local pastries, breads, cheese and fruit to teaching the kids how to play Chinese chequers. He also cooked us the most wonderful beef with the local Gaillac wine which we ate under the stars around a fire pit - a magical evening. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Le Chevalier Noir and just wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Paul!

We spent 4 very relaxing days at the Chevalier where we were thoroughly looked after by the host Paul, who is a mine of local information and goes out of his way to make recommendations and bookings. Cordes is a beautiful village with lots to offer and the property is well situated with incredible panoramic views of the countryside. The house is full of character and our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were a particular highlight with fresh fruit, bread and pastries every morning. We enjoyed exploring the area- it is quite stunning and perfect for visiting the pretty villages by car, bike or on foot. A wonderful stay, really recommend. Will be going back.

Absolutely amazing place inside outside and service. Rustic charm meets rural beauty with all the services you need for a relaxing 😎 stay. Exploring the area is fantastically helped by the expert advice of Paul and Dan the hosts. Nothing was too much trouble! Great very fresh breakfasts……… and the bread 🥖 and coffee ☕️ are the best I’ve ever had. Clean rooms, perfectly designed with everything you need plus truly breathtaking views. Great pool area and even a seperate two bedrooms that the young adults loved.

It seems word of mouth and reviews really do work. It brought us to the magical Le Chevalier Noir for a two day visit, we ended up staying four and using this as a base to explore the region. A warm inviting home and charming hosts, absolute ambassadors for the region. Paul was so helpful in suggesting nearby villages to visit, the best place to enjoy the view, restaurants and activities. Oh and if you do take up the dine-in option, please do. Paul is a superb cook, has a great sense of humour and is an excellent conversationalist. It’s also lovely to sit and share a meal, a story and a laugh with fellow travellers.

An oasis of calm and comfort on the edge of the busy bastide town of Cordes-sur-Ciel, this guest house was remarkable. We loved tea and cakes from the local patisserie served on the terrace on our arrival. We loved our special dinner party cooked by Paul in the elegant dining room. It was a script that noone could have written: an Icelandic lady, a Shetlander, two Basques and we two Brits chatting the night away, aided and abetted by our charming host. A special evening in a special place.

What a magical place to stay! The view from our room was spectacular. Paul was warm, welcoming and thoughtful from the start - making us feel comfortable and at home. Paul’s restaurant and visit recommendations were spot on- as were the delicious and plentiful breakfasts served on the terrace. Thank you Paul for your care, humour and attention to detail.We had a wonderful time and will be back to meet Daniel! Rob and Kate

Paul was incredibly accommodating to me and my partner during our stay. He always had recommendations of places to visit during our stay and generous enough to make us a reservation at a beautiful restaurant when needed. He made us feel completely at home, like staying at a family members house. Breakfast was delicious each morning, providing us with pastries, baguette and eggs with fresh tomatoes. We were easily able to move our stay back a few days because of the poor weather during our original visit. I couldn't have asked for more. Next time I'm back in the beautiful village of Cordes-sur-ciel, I'll be sure to stay again.

We had the most incredible time during our stay. From Daniel taking the best photos and teaching us a board game, to Paul taking me to yoga. The experience was totally personalised to our family and was a once in a lifetime trip that we will never forget. Thank you for being such generous hosts X

We were instantly blown away by not only the picturesque views of cordes but the stunning B&B which was absolutely gorgeous. The interiors were stunning and the breakfast was superb! Paul and Daniel were the most warmest hosts! Amazing stay we will be back!
