We stayed before our cruise and paid Rodeway for a shuttle to Miami which was provided. Room was fine, clean sheets, clean bathroom but floors could use a real good scrubbing and elevator smell made you gag. Breakfast was what I would expect from Rodeway. Shuttle to Miami went fine. I would say the it was fine for the 9 hrs we needed a place to sleep. Before we left we paid Rodeway again for shuttle from Miami cruise port to hotel as we were staying there again. Called about 8 am to say we were ready and they informed us driver would be about 45 minutes. After waiting over an hour I called and was told he was coming. Called after almost 2 hours and was driver was dispatched. They even called us to ask if he showed up. After almost 3 hrs of waiting a text was received that Rodeway ordered us an Uber. Nobody called to tell us about Uber or ask us about luggage and size needed. Uber that showed up was too small and would not take us. When I called Rodeway and informed them the Uber was too small, front desk personnel said “that was the only Uber that would take us to Ft Lauderdale and we refused it so we need to find our own way back. Told them Uber could not fit us and left. Was put on hold then disconnected. I called back and spoke with a man (could have been from the shuttle service themselves as I hit 1 for shuttle. It was so hard to hear outside the port) He did say he shows no record of a shuttle being dispatched to Miami that morning. There is no record of it. When asked about a refund, he informed me I had to take it up with the hotel when we arrived. I do not believe her was onsite. He was not onsite. So basically the employees at Rodeway lied to us all day, left us stranded at the Miami Port for 3 hrs or they have horrible staff communication. Ended up paying $120 out of pocket for transportation from Miami to Rodeway FLL. When we showed up, we were not allowed to check in and had to wait for a supervisor because we had an issue to take care of. Desk employee told us Supervisor was on the phone so we waited. After about 20 minutes we told them to call our cell. We were going to wait in restaurant. At that time a front desk employee waved us over and handed one of us the phone with the ”supervisor” on the other end. She was told we wanted our money back and the difference of $30 we had to pay a new driver. She refused to pay the difference. She told us that if we had called they would have ordered us a bigger Uber. Told her we did and were told by the front desk staff that we had to pay our own way back because we refused Uber and it was the only one they could find. Again informed her the Uber left us. At this point we just wanted to check in an deal with this later because we were in the lobby and tired. Supervisor then got upset because the conversation was happening in the lobby and others could hear. It was her employee who gave us the phone. Where did she think we were? We wanted her to call us.
