Good Service. Clean although worn/dated. Local to amenities. Myy husband didn't enjoy the food.

We held our wedding at this beautiful hotel in April this year and we will treasure this time forever. Bob, Stephen, Marius and their team of friendly and helpful staff went above and beyond to make our day - and our entire stay with family and friends, simply perfect! They could not have done more for us or our guests - they were all so lovely! The staff were the most friendly, charming and accommodating people you are ever likely to meet. It was an utter joy to spend time at this hotel. We were quite emotional leaving the Dornoch Station; it had felt like a home away from home! The food was mouth-watering, superbly presented and always delicious. The breakfasts were simply the most perfect way to start your day. If you are considering the Dornoch Station as a relaxing weekend getaway, a longer visit to explore the magnificent surroundings, or indeed, your own wedding venue, look no further. Every aspect of the hotel was sumptuous, the food exquisite and the service seamless and polished. We are already looking forward to our next visit; not just for the hotel comforts, but the very warm welcome we know will be waiting. Thank you!

Nestled away in the small town of Dornoch in the Scottish Highlands is the absolute gem of a hotel. Built in 1902 it contains a lot of its original charm and character but after being newly renovated in 2022 it now bost modern luxurious as well. We turn up to this hotel at 6am after driving up from london over night, with no booking and all of the staff looked after us. We were offered coffee and breakfast whilst the receptionist arranged a room for us to check into straight away. The room was beautiful with antique furniture with modern facilities. Interactive tv, tea/coffee making facilities and usb chargers in the plugs. Room was spacious and clean with an amazing view out over the Firth and out to sea. The restaurant was also amazing serving a select menu of locally sourced food which was very well presented and cooked to perfection. Compared to most top end restaurant the portion sizes were massive. There is no chance of anyone leaving here still feeling hungry. The hotel also offered a large range of activities from archery to golf and bike hire to explore the town. All in all a wonderful hotel in a great location made even better by the amazing staff

The Hotel is conveniently located just infront of the golf, and a few minutes from the historic centre. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was efficient with a reasonable spread. Room comfy and the bar is cosy. Clean - some work was underway but not too disturbing. Recommend for visit around the area. Good whisky selection at the bar.

I am on a 2 week trip in Scotland and this hotel is our third hotel of the trip and by far the best. The hospitality is unmatched to anything I have experienced. The people working are charming and real hospitality is here. Food is amazing. Spend your money here and you will not be sorry. I promise!

The location was convenient but there are other options that would likely have rooms that at least resemble the advertised size of the ones we thought we booked. Breakfast is good. Don’t go for dinner.

dinner at the hotel restaurant, Golden Gorse. long delay between first and mains, so I asked for some bread. waiter brought one slice, cut in half, with butter. he made no mention of any charge, but I expected no charge or perhaps nominal charge for one slice. bill came -- 9 pounds for one slice of bread. I asked if this was a mistake, waiter said no, walked away. I looked at menu as I left, it did say 9 pounds for bread. but one slice??? not a loaf, not a basket of bread, just one slice. rest of meal was ok, not great, expensive for what we got, slow indifferent service. 9 pounds for one slice of bread??!! never going back.

This was my second visit to the Dornoch Station and it just keeps getting better. As soon as you step through the door you are treated as a VIP. The hotel is beautifully furnished throughout and bedrooms are very comfortable. The food served in the Golden Gorse is fantastic and I would say the breakfast is the best that I have had in any hotel that I have stayed in. The staff are a credit to the hotel and cannot do enough for you and to ensure your stay is special. If you are looking for accomodation in the area then do not go anywhere else, get the booking made and sit back, relax and enjoy the Dornoch Station.
