One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at with endless stunning views of old town, which is a short walk away. The beach area is a relaxing area to spend a day with several lounge chairs, quick access to the crystal clear sea, and staff to take your drink and food orders. The outdoor bar area is the perfect spot to drink a glass of local wine while watching the sunset. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. I was upgraded to a room with a terrace and had the best view of the fireworks show.

As many of the other reviews state this hotel is not in the old city - it is a 20min walk (about 2km) down to the old city, which in the heat of the midday sun can be an issue for some, particularly if you are trekking uphill back to the hotel. The best alternative option is to catch the #4 bus from the Pile Gate and then get off on the 4th stop which is 100m away from the hotel (4min bus ride). There are not a large number of reasonable restaurants close by and the on-premises Bosnian restaurant (Taj Mahal) cannot be booked to the room. It is a mid-range hotel built in the 1970s, so it does have an older feel. It is not that large, with just over 150 rooms but larger than the boutique hotels we were used to staying it on our Croatian trip. We stayed in one of their classic rooms - without any view (unless you count the adjoining building as a view). The double bed was just two single beds pushed together, which meant disappearing down the crevice in-between regularly during the night. I'd suggest booking a superior room, which are larger, more modern, in the newer wing of the hotel and include a bathtub. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and relatively fast. The air conditioning only be turned on when the room key was inserted, which meant, dependent on the room orientation, you could come back to a warm room which might take some time to cool down. They only supplied one bottle of water for entire stay, which they could easily address. The swimming pool is fairly small, almost always in shade and can only be accessed via the lobby (doesn't have any change facilities by the pool). We arrived in the morning, well before the 2pm check-in, and whilst they stored our luggage and offered us use of the pool whilst we waited there really wasn't anywhere to get changed and take up the offer. The breakfast, included in the room tariff, was a reasonable quality with a relatively choice of options however it didn't vary at all during our five-day stay. The lobby/foyer can get congested at times when larger tour groups arrive, with all their luggage in tow. The staff were polite and endeavoured to help us where they could. Not my favourite accommodation in Croatia but serviceable for what we needed.

Really excellent location, service, and property. Beautiful views of the Adriatic. Multiple pools to swim in, + access to the sea as well. Promenade walk to many restaurants and other options. A quick bus ride or taxi puts you in Old Town. All just perfect!

We went to Dubrovnik and spend a beatiful week in this apartment. Apartment was equipped with all the equipment, from the kitchen to the equipment for washing clothes, so everything was at our fingertips. The maids are very kind and we had daily cleaning every other day where they even took out the trash. The staff at the reception kindly welcomed us and after a quick check-in took us to the apartment. We would recommend this facility to everyone because it is very accommodating, luxurious and has everything you need. Not to forget that they immediately delivered a babycot for a small baby upon request.

The service couldn't be any better. Hostel Angelina apparently have 6 locations (unbeknownst to us at the time) and we arrived at the northern building late at 10 pm after the reception had closed, despite having a reservation at the southern pa. Nonetheless, we managed to notify someone, we were then let in and checked in properly, even though we were at the wrong location. There were free beds, so despite our mistake everything was fixed for us. The receptionist was even off-hours but helped us out anyway. Thanks so much!

I have to confess that I am very late writing this review. I travelled in May 2019 and not May 2020 as I have incorrectly indicated. I apologise to everyone, particularly the host Dino, for my tardiness in this respect. You couldn't find a better location for Dubrovnik City. It overlooks a small but beautiful bay (featured in Game of Thrones - whatever that is?) and faces a dramatic looking castle at the end of a warren of quiet, narrow streets, that is less than a 5 minute walk from the Pile Gate, ie the main entrance to the old city. This is further topped by the most helpful and informative host, Dino, who walked down with me to watch Liverpool's great Champion's League semi final win against Barcelona in the nearby Kop Bar - another place that should be visited. During our stay Dino's mother was also visiting and she kindly baked delicious pastries for us, which we were able to eat on the terrace. Finally, the room was well equipped and comfortable. In short, the whole experience was extremely enjoyable

Please listen to me when I say this this not the place for you. Let me preface this by saying, I have worked in hotels and completely understand that things break and it’s out of our control. It’s the complete lack of communication from the management that I take issue with. To start, when I booked through ******* weeks before my arrival I messaged the hotel and asked if I could come store my bags since I would be there prior to check in time. No answer. That should have been my first clue about their atrocious customer service. I forgot about it until the day before and messaged them again via *******. Still no answer. I found them via WhatsApp and messaged them at 7:29 am. Almost three full hours later they finally responded that yes, I could drop my luggage off (spoiler alert- I had given up on getting a response and already went straight to the property and dropped it off with the guy at check in). They also said that the lock on my door was broken and wouldn’t be fixed until the next day and they could provide other accommodation. Unfortunately I did not see their message because I was exploring old town and at the beach and didn’t realize there was an issue until I went to check into the room around 3:00 pm and could not lock the door. I went downstairs and informed the check in guy who said he would contact the manager. Ok no big deal, I thanked him and went back to my room and waited and waited, and finally contacted the manager via WhatsApp again and asked about another room if this one could not be fixed. They said there was no other rooms available tonight and that hopefully the repairman would be able to resolve the issue (3:45 pm). Why did they offer alternative accommodation if they had no rooms available?? I wait some more and finally decide I need to shower so I lock the bathroom door since I couldn't lock the actual room door. Fast forward to me being locked in the bathroom for a good ten minutes. Long enough for me to begin to panic because my phone was in the main room and would anyone hear me? I finally get the bathroom door open and clearly there has been no repairman during this time. I message the manager again (4:45pm) and asked if they knew when he would be here as I was getting very hungry now. I can see they are online. No response. Twenty min later I texted them a “?” Again I see them come online. Still no response. I finally just grab anything that important that I wouldn’t want stolen and head to dinner. In the meantime I contact ******* to make sure this whole situation is documented. The ******* representative also contacted the manager and did not get a response. 50 minutes later I message them again that this is unprofessional and unacceptable and also their listing is still showing on Kayak yet they said they had no rooms available. Like I said I totally get that these things happen. What upsets me is that their way of dealing with it was to completely ignore me instead of checking in and keeping me updated wi
