Highland Spirit B&B

Cute accommodation with firepit, hot tub and very comfy bed. The owners were very friendly and helpful (they had the hot tub heated ready for our arrival). You can walk along a track to Dufftown in about 10 minutes. The rooms are small but had everything you could need. Would visit again.

Our room (exciseman) was large and full of interesting whisky related bits and bobs, including really informative books. We hoped to learn more about whisky and definitely did - the hosts knowledge and interest helps with this. Karen and Alistair are fabulous hosts, helping you to settle in quickly and pointing you in the right direction locally. Tea, cake and chat on arrival was a lovely touch. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom lovely and clean, shower warm and breakfasts delicious. We are very likely to be back!

Beautiful place to stay. Karen and Alistair are fantastic hosts. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with everything you need for a romantic getaway. Breakfast is delicious, recommend everything but do try the Scottish Breakfast with Black Pudding, and definitely try the porridge with a dram of whiskey!!! Karen has a beautiful garden, and the can both give you all the advice you need to plan your distillery tours. Town was very quiet and has definitely suffered during covid, but there is a lovely restaurant across the street, and the distilleries are so close.

Dear Karen and Allister, Thank you for the warm welcome, with coffee whisky and biscuits. For the beautiful and clean room with marvelous views where we good sleep and relax. For the home-made breakfast with fresh fruits granola and yogurt. For your knowledge of the area you shared with us. We never had such a wonderfull experience at another B&B before in our lives. Top notch hosts. From the welcome to check out this was the perfect spot to explore Speyside. The breakfast was delicious and the the rooms we comfy and clean. Our hosts' knowledge of the local area and the whiskys was brilliant and made our trip a success. Would recommend and would return.

If you want to explore this whisky paradise, this is the place to book! Located in Dufftown, you are ideally placed for short drives to any distillery you'd like to visit. Karen and Alistair are amazing hosts, looking after every detail to make your stay as perfect as possible. The rooms have a lot of space, super clean, with a very nice view on the valley, and the garden. A special mention to the bed large and comfy ! The shower works well and is easy to use. Karen knows really how to treat you for breakfast, everything is fresh, as local as possible, home made (the granola !!). Besides , both of them are extremely knowledgeable about their region and Scotland in general. They were great advisors in helping us choose what we could do and make it happen. Alistair made possible our dinner at the Seven Stills restaurant in Dufftown, which was great. And they do all this in a very friendly and non intrusive manner. We definitely recommend it .

I spent nine nights at the Highland Spirit on my first visit to Scotland. Karen and Alistair were the most amazing hosts. The accommodations were meticulously kept and very clean. The property itself was a little jewel in an already beautiful country. The breakfast was always so delicious and fresh, a perfect way to keep you going for a busy day. Karen was a complete professional in hospitality. Besides keeping me well fed, she gave excellent recommendations on sights I should see, and provided detailed explanations on how to find my way around the countryside. She made taxi reservations for me when needed and followed up before my outings. She was such a joy to chat with over breakfast and always had an answer to my many random questions. I truly felt she was looking out for me during my stay, and Alistair as well. I took his Whisky Walk, which was both fun and educational. I learned so much on our adventure and had several drams I never would have tried otherwise. He is extremely knowledgeable in both whisky and the history of the area. Karen and Alistair are one reason Dufftown is so special and I can't imagine there is a better B&B anywhere in Speyside!!!

Karen & Alistar are amazing hosts and the residence was beautiful, secure and well situated in Dufftown, especially for the Speyside Whisky School and Festival! It doesn't get any better. Alistar's history and whisky tour was great as well!

We stayed two nights at Karen and Alistair's Bed and Breakfast. They were the most amazing and welcoming hosts. We were welcomed with whisky, coffee and biscuits. The room was extremely well appointed - very comfortable bed and all the amenities you could want. Even before we arrived, I communicated with Karen and she was extremely helpful in giving us all the links to book reservations for everything while we would be there. You are so close to many activities - we did several whisky tastings/tours, a tour of the Cooperage, Knockando Wool Mill, Walkers Biscuits and probably our favorite was the Mortlach Whisky Tour with Alistair. It was extremely informative and so fun to hear all about the whisky and the local town from Alistair! Breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning and we honestly cannot say enough good things about staying here. We hope to be back next time we are lucky enough to visit Scotland!
