Hotel berhampiran International Baptist Church, Dumaguete

I spent 5 night at Hotel Dumaguete with my wife and 5 y/o daughter. We had the best time ever. Very nice modern rooms. The staff were absolutely over the top being very accommodating, kind, and respectful. They are always smiling and will go out of the way to make sure you are happy and satisfied. The restaurant/deli in the lobby (Piapi Deli) serves up some really great meals at a very reasonable price. The roof top wine bar (The Pawnshop), is also very nice with an ample assortment of wines and cheeses. Conveniently located close to town and the famous board walk and boulevard with too many restraints to choose from. Be aware if you have children or you cannot swim that the swimming pool does not have a shallow end so to speak. 5 ft is the minimum depth getting deeper from there but very clean and very nice. Time and money well spent for sure. I highly recommend this hotel and will return sure.

OK so at first you might think this a back road but it has schools and colleges along it. The location is like 15 min walk from port and maybe 20 from boulevard and loads of great street food. Staff are not only helpful I'm sure the smiles they have were best I've seen Thought it's an older hotel it has kept its majestic quality. With staff all wearing the same from head to toe. Gave a feeling of quality with room angel that reset the room daily. Been in a few that don't do this. For me top marks

I love this hotel. i have stayed here now many many times, and i have NEVER had a bad experience, so i thought i would finally write a DESERVED GOOD review. The Hotel is placed right at the heart of Dumaguete, everything you would want is with a few mins of the hotel, the hotel also provides trips to some of the popular tourist attractions. The rooms are always clean and fresh with daily room service, but in my opinion the only thing that lets the rooms down are the showers which sadly could do with more maintenance as often they are faulty in some way and poorly kept looking, but they still provide good supply of hot water. I have stayed in all of the rooms they offer, from their suite to the standard rooms, and all show the same levels of cleanliness and the rooms always feel welcoming. Free breakfast is provided and the restaurant is good and the food well cooked and presented , the hotel provides a full range of pampering service if you require some self indulgence. The staff are ALWAYS friendly polite professional and on hand for any reason and will always make you feel important and a valued guest. I have in all my stays at this Hotel had only ever had one problem which was dealt with professionally, immediately and satisfactorily,. This hotel is ALWAYS my first choice when i visit Dumaguete, and will continue to be so They have plenty of rooms and even as a walk in, i have never been turned away from being fully booked, Its always a pleasure staying here.... The room was better than I expected, how they set up the interior was really clever, I love how they’ve setup a multi-purpose table that can be useful for anything — eating, working, storage of some of my important belongings. The lamp was really nice, too. It actually looked pretty classy. And the bed is what I have hoped for, especially after a really hectic day. The life-size mirror was a plus. I loved how they had breakfast served in plates but it came up with a complimentary buffet-style variety of drinks and some bread and jam. The marmalade and berry jam were really delicious. The staff were really helpful and nice. They even recommended places to check out. The place is across the wet market and beside the building is a pharmacy/convenience store.

Good service and food. This is the second time I have stayed there. Problems. Hot water not working. Internet can cut in and out at times Only soap in bathroom No fridge Kettle but no cups or coffee/tea sachets

Frontdesk super friendly and accommodating with all the details provided Room cleaners are very good and friendly Security are very helpfull all the times with smile and greetings... Super happy with the stay.....

I made a trip to the Philippines for my son's wedding. I was referred to Pura Vida by my new daughter in law who grew up in the area. Of the five resorts that I checked out online, this was by far the most appealing property for many reasons. I can honestly say that the entire visit was one of the most pleasant and wonderful experiences I have ever had. Having such a wonderful place to stay made my time with my son and his wife that much more special. And my daughter in law knows many of the staff. They all made me feel like family. I spent 16 days enjoying the Bird's Nest Suite, which was roomy, comfortable, clean, cool, and overall just great. I could not have been happier with the staff and the care I received from them all. They all treated me like family; from the restaurant, bar, office, and housekeeping... Everyone was so sweet and pleasant. The breakfasts included with my stay were good and plentiful. The other meals I ate at the resort were plentiful and good. My room was up 2 flights of stairs (good exercise) with a lovely view of the property and view through the trees of the beach. The propery and pools are lovely and so well maintained. Even all the property maintenance staff were friendly, always greeting me. I had a wonderful massage at the spa one afternoon. My home is in northern Nevada in the USA. I traveled about 30 some hours to get to the Philippines. Having such a beautiful, relaxing place to stay made my visit a joy! One word to describe Bluewater Sumilon Island would be PARADISE! We were greeted by a mild-mannered receptionist (if i remember it right, Kevin) before we hopped on the boat. Sit on the first row, if you wish to enjoy the water splashes. We didn't mind as we were still wearing our swimmers from our whaleshark experience. We got there about 1pm, the room was ready about 3pm, but no trouble, because we enjoyed alone time in the infinity pool, took a nap on the daybeds, enjoyed a ”must order” halo halo on a buko, and fruit smoothies! What makes this place awesome is the staff, from the pool guy who picks up every leaf falling on the water, to the porters who helped our bags, to the friendly people at the reception and the dining area, even the nice ladies at the Amuma lounge. William's smile and attentive service is really heart warming. I'm not surprised why he's popular! Security is spot on! My husband flew a drone in front of our room and was told off 10 seconds later, which we are ok to abide. When snorkelling, I highly recommend getting a guide to the marine sanctuary. It's so worth it! It's good that the guides protect the sanctuary. There are only areas where you can snorkel, but plenty of fish, corals and clown fish. We stayed in premier deluxe room, which was very spacious, closest to the sandbar and best spot to watch the sunrise. Buffet dinner and breakfast are really good with plenty of options. Highly recommend, but would stay for more than 1 night next time.

The Island Front Resort is highly recommended if you are planning on staying in the Oslob area and/or are planning on seeing the whale sharks there. The Island Front Resort rooms are pretty basic, but very clean and located right on the water. It was definitely a very nice treat to eat dinner and breakfast facing the clear blue ocean and Sumilon Island, which is another tourist attraction. The staff are very friendly and helpful. As a matter of fact, if you plan on going to see the whale sharks, the staff will arrange transportation for you (at a very fair price) and even fast track you on the boat line with a complimentary guide, which will save you time and eliminate some confusion when you get there. The food (both the dinner and complimentary breakfast) was very good and priced very reasonably. I was hoping for just a clean basic room to sleep in (which I did get), but the good and fairly priced food and being fast tracked on the whale shark line were definitely nice surprise bonuses!! 😊
