Hotel berhampiran Carrick Knowe Parish Church, Edinburgh

First time I’ve stayed here in a while and have to say it was a much better stay. Rooms had been modernised and mind had a walk in shower rather than a tiny bath , not sure if all rooms are updated but if you ask for walk in shower you will get a new room Location. Is good aside from a tricky junction outside where if travelling east it’s more awkward, nearly had a taxi come into the side of me. Retail park across the road Nice bar with some food options

Marriot Edinburgh West is truly a beauty to behold,right from the surroundings, entrance, receptionist, waiting area to the elevators, and most importantly, the glass view from the room where you get to see a large view of the area,it's just like in the movies,certainly a must visit next time. The only snag is the shower,it's not really enjoyable,that should be handled please. Outside that it's a lovely hotel and a home away from home,considered a get away spot

The hotel is located in a quiet area close to the city center (it took us 30 minutes to walk with a child from the train station). There are many different restaurants and cafes nearby, and the transportation links are excellent, with a bus and tram stop literally a 2-minute walk away, as well as the Haymarket railway station. If you plan on traveling outside Edinburgh, this would be convenient for you. The hotel serves good breakfasts with a convenient serving time from 7:30-10:00, so you can always have breakfast in the morning and go for a walk. The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. We stayed in room 63, which was clean and warm (we stayed in February), and the room was regularly cleaned. As for the downsides, I can note the size of the room and bathroom. We booked a 25m2 room, but in reality, it did not correspond to the declared size and was very small, feeling no more than 12m2. This fact disappointed me. Therefore, I recommend always clarifying this point. - -Also, there was a small amount of mold in the bathroom, which was slightly unpleasant but not critical. -Hotel Pros: +Excellent transportation links; +Cleanliness and warmth in the room; +Friendly staff; +Nearby train station; +Nearby cafes and restaurants; Hotel Cons: Room size did not correspond to the declared size; There was a small amount of mold in the bathroom; Overall, I recommend this hotel as the price-quality ratio is optimal👍🏻.

The hotel only check in at 4:00pm. only at 4:00pm... many guests arrive in the day time and wait for a long time for check in..... long long queue. The staff gave me a wrong room with no window, that is very narrow, which I have reserved a standard single room with a queen bed. the room with no window, no wifi, no network...and seems that I cananot breath in the room... and I have to go back to the lobby again ..... the door card is not that good... I have to go to the reception to activate the card every day...yes. .. every day... sometime, I found out that when I tried to open my room door...but it failed... and I have to go back to the lobby again.... it is quite annoying. The location is OK. with bus to the airport and the tram and bus station nearby. The breakfast is good, with plenty of choices. The food is the same every day.

Great customer service. We arrived earlier than expected and were offered a room that was already available and some welcome drinks too. Staff were very attentive and helpful and room was clean and spacious. Bed was so comfortable and it was handy having parking on-site too. Only downside was the poor water pressure in the shower but I suspect this was due to us being on the fourth floor.

Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

The hostel is nice and clean. It is bit expensive to book in the last minute. However, it is in a very good location. There is a shared kitchen in the place. The room was clean and quiet. Everything was fine. I would recommend if you are travelling on budget but be aware to book early as the price is changing. I would come again only if they lock the price even if you book last minute.

This hotel was just perfect for me. Spacious and well organised rooms with plenty of drawers to put your stuff. The only minus is that there is a narrow passage between the wall and a king-size bed, but at the same time you have a separate section in the room with a big desk, a big drawer and a cozy armchair. Everything neat and clean. Breakfast was delicious and served in style. You order by menu. All the staff was super nice. Many thanks to them for creating such a hospitable environment!

We stayed out of Edinburgh as much cheaper than in Edinburgh on a busy weekend - went to watch Harry Styles at Murrayfield! The first night wasn’t great as our room was noisy as the window wouldn’t close and at breakfast lots of items were not topped up. However, the staff moved us the next day and breakfast was much better stocked the next 2 mornings. The staff were so friendly and helpful - particularly Clare and Kayleigh. It was very easy and cheap to get the train into Edinburgh
