Looked for somewhere near to the Playhouse and I could not have made a better choice, it is very central for shopping centre and eateries. The hotel is beautiful, staff are so helpful. Room was massive with lots of nice toiletries, there was also an espresso machine and complimentary soft drinks in the fridge (didn’t realise till later). They have thought of everything, but hey it is a 5 star hotel. Would highly recommend if you want a treat 😊

在愛寶留學的一年，周圍同學朋友津津樂道的便便屋沒想到是W酒店。 新開業第二天入住，前台行李服務人員很熱情，絲滑記寄存。但是辦理入住程序緩慢，需要進行各種認證，整體流程等待接近半小時，很多辦理入住的住客選擇寄存行李，去一旁st james商圈逛逛。 房間大部分一次性用品是不提供的，由於自身攜帶，也沒諮詢前台是否能夠提供。一次性拖鞋好評，比較暖和舒適。mini bar提供的酒水都是付費的，辦理入住會要求提供100鎊按金。 早餐方面，分10樓和11樓，我們選擇的是10樓的英式早餐，是半自助形式，也是這次入住體驗唯一的亮點。由於新開業，很多設施和觀景台都暫未開放，希望下次來能有更多的體驗。

Beautiful hotel probably in the best location in Edinburgh. Very close to all of the key sites and nice restaurants and bars. The rooms are very spacious and elegantly decorated. Hotel would also be a very good option for long stay since the room has kitchen and washing machine included. Hotel’s building used to be a former office of Royal Bank of Scotland. Hotel staff have been very helpful and friendly.

Staff very friendly and cant do enough for you, we’d only been in the room about 10 minutes and we got a text asking if everything was okay with the room. It was our anniversary so it was a lovely touch to get a piece of cake and a card in the room. Bed was really comfy and a lovely size room, we had everything we needed. Hotel is in a very good location and the bar / restaurant is definitely worth a visit, food very tasty and very attentive staff. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was just as described and lived up to my expectations. The location was perfect for exploring the city, with many attractions and restaurants within walking distance. What really made my stay stand out was the staff - they were super friendly, helpful and always responded quickly to any inquiries I had. Additionally, the hotel's app made everything incredibly easy, from asking questions to checking out. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere that made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Cheval Old Town to anyone visiting Edinburgh and I look forward to staying here again in the future.”

I had a fantastic time at ”The Scholar” hotel and couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. Firstly, the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The facilities at the hotel were impressive as well. The rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, and provided top-notch comfort. The clean and well-equipped bathroom, along with modern amenities, added to the overall appeal. Additionally, the leisure facilities such as the gym and swimming pool enriched the entire stay, making it more fulfilling and enjoyable. One of the highlights was the dining experience. The breakfast offered a diverse selection of high-quality options. I particularly enjoyed their signature dishes, which were flavorful and memorable. The restaurant staff exhibited professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall dining experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend ”The Scholar” hotel. Having booked for two nights, we were asked if we accepted not to clean the room the second day ! For that we did not receive at least one breakfast for free !?! I sent an email to the hotel, asking about the tram connection from the airport and never received any answer. They could have told me that the tram stopped one stop earlier and not in front of the hotel. The food was correct - price expensive for a self-service breakfast.

I stayed 2 nights in one of the suites. It was a huge room overlooking York Place with a lovely bathroom with separate bath & shower. Bed was really comfortable and I slept really well. The only noise from the street was the clang clang of the trams. All the staff I met were lovely and helpful. Overall it feels as if a bit of a refresh/update is needed. I was surprised at the tea/coffee facilities. I would have expected a small biscuit/shortbread included, and maybe a hot choc sachet. However cafes and coffee shops abound in the area. Also thought there would be the use of a bathrobe. You can come and go from the hotel without passing reception which I found a bit disconcerting as I was travelling solo. But as soon as my door was locked I didn’t give it a second thought.

Before you arrive, make sure you sort your parking at QPark at Omni nearby if you are driving. You have to book it in advance online and use the discount code. The procedure changed in April (apparently) between the time of us booking and the date of arrival, nobody told us, and QPark point blank refused to honour the discount code when we drove out, whilst the hotel receptionist just shrugged his shoulders when we told him at check out. That cost me 14 pounds extra, which was just annoying - and not really how you treat a Platinum member and at 24 pounds a day full price per day or part of day, the parking is not cheap. We had a bigger room with a sofa bed (318), which was fine and the bathroom was big. But again when the shower gel dispenser ran out we asked for it to be replaced in the morning at the check in desk, but returned that evening and it was still empty. The towels were changed every day, the double bed was small, but the room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was often crowded, a basic buffet, but the bar staff were friendly the lobby is a haven of peace in which to sip a cider. There is no fitness room or gym, and the property is expensive in peak season for an Holiday Inn Express. At the end of the stay, I did not feel I had received value for money especially when hit by QPark's larceny. But the internet worked fine and the location is very convenient...

What a wonderful find! We were going to the theatre and needed a one night stay..this was just perfect. Amazing apartment with so many extras. Small amount of coffee and milk sachets, luxury shower gels, washing up liquid, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and even offer access to netflix. We had a first floor apartment, and although we did hear the traffic in the morning, it is right in the middle of Edinburgh in an ideal location for shops, restaurants, bars, and theatre.The flat was very clean and spacious and we took advantage of the secure left luggage box in the hallway as we arrived early. We had intended taking the train to avoid any parking problems but due to the rail strike we had to change our plans at the last minute. When we contacted Destiny for help they were super efficient and we were lucky as they offered us one of their vacant parking spaces at the rear of the property for £15. All code entry systems worked very well and we were extremely impressed with the service. We would thoroughly recommend these apartments.
